  1. Fits really well with Lego Groups typical logic. People want quidditch uniforms so let's give them that, but also make sure to include the 10,000th Harry minifig, Draco, and Cho.
  2. It was a little more explicit than that. The instagram leaks said the 3-in-1 set contained two Black Falcon Knights and a civilian. There were no pictures so it isn't 100% confirmed, but it was quoted by some relatively reliable IG leakers.
  3. I'm really hoping the June wave is just an anniversary diversion, because otherwise I feel like they abandoned those of us that heavily invested in the 2018 - 2020 sets. Give us Gringotts so that those of us that dumped money into Diagon Alley can complete our scene. Give us Deathly Hallows sets so that all the books are represented. Finish off the Hogwarts mega build in the 2018 - 2020 style with Bell Towers, and maybe a Courtyard Battle Scene. After that remake as much as you want and I'll probably pick up a few items to pad out my 2018-2020 collection.
  4. I finally understand. The lego design team wanted to make the Deathly Hallows sets and Gringotts like we all wanted, but when the Death Eaters and crazies from Azkaban escaped they took over the lego offices and forced the design team to make all this stuff.
  5. I appreciate the Black Falcons style even with only two knights. The faction is not surprising given the Blacksmith, but I think overall theming this year's sets as Black Falcon was an inspired choice by LEGO. Hopefully means a couple extra Black Falcon shields. I'll just use the brick built animals for parts as I'm not a fan myself, but its a minor thing for me if the rest of the set is good. My biggest question is whether I can reasonably justify to myself buying three sets so I can display all three builds and have extra knights.
  6. I really do not understand what Lego is thinking with this year's sets. I spent $700 on Harry Potter Lego in 2020 and from everything out and leaked so far it looks like I'll be spending $0 in 2021. The Hogwarts moments books looked okay, but were different enough from the running theme to be an easy pass for me. They could have released ten terrible sets continuing the existing Hogwarts expansions with tiny pieces of the castle and massive side builds and I would still buy all ten for completeness. This anniversary stuff does nothing for me. Why would I want to start over with worse quality?
  7. I am all in for those suggestions. I think Harry Potter doesn't have enough background minifigs in sets. One of my disappointments with DA was how few Wizarding world background players were there. I didn't need another Hagrid, a random witch or wizard would have been better. I also wish the castle sets had more 2nd tier students. I know it's a hopeless dream but I'd love more sets without Harry, Hermione and Ron. I don't need 15 harrys.
  8. Love Arachne and the time traveller. Great work.
  9. I'm completely on board with this. I used the bonsai set instructions to price out the cost of the tree alone. Unfortunately its still around $30 USD in parts. A while back I submitted an ideas set that was basically nature parts, tree builds, bushes, etc. Didn't go anywhere but I still personally love the idea of reasonably priced landscaping.
  10. Do we think the castle 3 in 1 set will be three distinct builds like Castle,/Village Square/Windmill or something that can be combined if you buy three like castle gatehouse/castle rampart/castle tower?
  11. People seem to be keying in on the fact that original had a more muted pallette. Darker brown wood trim, darker blue roof, more olives and browns in the tree and grass. The switch isn't bothering me much, but it is interesting that we've seen that a few times now on ideas projects. Barracuda Bay in particular comes to mind. Is there a reason for that? Brighter colors are cheaper resin? Focus groups prefer those colors? Better aligns with the old pirates and kingdoms theme sets?
  12. I like the build and am on the side of those that prefer the scaled down size. I don't want the town blacksmith to be as large as the castle. Minifigs and animals definitely can impact my love for this set. IG says 4 figs plus a horse. If they include a goat as shown in original submission this gets much cooler.
  13. I've said before and I'll say again that Robert8's designs consistently outclass anything lego manages to come up with. The Snowflake Costume is inspired. Both creatively unique and beautiful.
  14. I'm obviously in the minority, but I'm happy to pay $5 if the quality is there. If lego is having any issue with the unlicensed CMF I think its driven by making boring generic figures. Just look at Harry Potter series 2 versus Series 20, the quality and creativity difference is astounding. (Although, don't get me wrong, HP S2 has some duds as well). The rumored cost of the new Harry Potter wave is scary though. Hoping for some duds there to protect my pocket book.
  15. Dear financial advisor, Is it a good idea to take me a 2nd mortgage out on my house to buy Harry Potter lego? Sincerely, Mr. Lacdaran
  16. This is depressing. These are always so much better than what the lego group ends up actually making it bums me out. In every real CMF series maybe 1 or 2 of the figs stands up against Robert8's consistent quality.
  17. 1. Golfer 2. Tennis Player (Female) 3. Renaissance Inventor (Leonardo Da Vinci type) 4. Pioneer Girl (think little house on the prairie) 5. Super Warrior (following on series 20, but yellow color, female face) 6. Farmer with Sheep (Female) 7. Fashion Designer 8. Postal Worker 9. Centaur 10. Underworld God (Similar to Greek Hades) 11. Cow Costume Guy 12. Hamburger Costume Girl Additions if 16 figures: 13. Dentist 14. Reporter 15. Sorceress (female spin on series 12 wizard) 16. Carrot Costume
  18. I know, I wasn't serious. In an attempt to be amusing I was just saying if we are going to be talking about our hopes and dreams we might as well dream big.
  19. I'm hoping 2021 will look like this: Jan: Series 21 (20 figures) March: Star Wars - Series 1 (20 figures) May: Series 22 (20 figures) July: Series 23 (20 figures) Sept: Harry Potter - Series 3 (20 figures) Nov: Series 24 (20 figures) Might be a bit optimistic though.
  20. Full Halloween series or just a figure or two? I'm excited about either.
  21. I support the idea of lego and D&D crossovers in any form. I think you could do great things with a whole D&D theme. I personally would want a few more of the traditional races before getting into races like tortles and grung. I had some non-city themed people pack ideas a while back one of which had some DnD inspiration. Dungeon Adventurer Pack - Dwarf Fighter (M), Human Rogue (F), Orc Barbarian (M), Human Paladin (F), Human Monk (M), Gnome Bard (F), Human Wizard (M), Gnome Cleric (F), Elf Druid (M), Elf Ranger (F), Orc Warlock (M), Drow Sorcerer (F), kobolds x3.
  22. The blind bags mean that Lego doesn't have to do the very difficult marketing task of determining the popularity of each figure. No blind bags in this series and you find the first army builder that walks into a store buys every Viking and they are sold out everywhere on day one, and then a bunch of the green brick dude sits on shelf for months pissing off retailers.
  23. I think Lego is trying to make the most appealing photos possible with the released sets, and isn't afraid to move things a bit in the future. We see here they moved clocktower replacing it with the AT. I approve of this because it is far more screen accurate. In the future I bet the angle on the clocktower changes a bit by flipping the dance section and we do actually end up with a loop. Speculating a bit; Three to five more sets wrapping around the back side of this nets you a pretty great Hogwarts. Long Gallery/Bell tower (combo or 2 sets) connects to AT, Middle Courtyard/Library (Combo or 2 sets) connects to Belltower and room of requirement. Then a set similar to weeping willow with a long wall piece and maybe the bridge connects middle courtyard to clocktower. This set might contain the Owlery which is actually a separate building from the main castle in that area.
  24. This is closest to the correct locations on the Hogwarts map as well. I may try to change up the connections to swing the AT forward a bit versus this photo though.
  25. I feel themes like Minions and Trolls are inevitable. You are always going to see those movie tie ins for some kids property and while few of them are going to appeal to most AFOLs they will appeal to kids. That almost feels like a separate inevitable resource pool that I would presume LEGO makes money on. New unlicensed themes, on the other hand, are a rare enough thing that when they miss they feel like wasted resources. Mario is a unique case in my mind, good property bad execution.
