LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
UberCorp replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Unfortunately out of my price range but the build looks great (and it’s huge). Really hoping it well enough to open the door for more non-OT UCS sets in the future. -

I’m thinking the monster in the FFH set is just going to be something generic made up by Lego and not from the movie (like the tentacle portal in the first Doctor Strange set) -
Personally was really looking forward to the Bionicle set, but looks like it has a low little chance of being funded. Disappointing but given its $100+ for a system set I can see why it doesn’t appeal to most fans. Though I’m guessing this means they won’t pick the theme for the 90th anniversary vote either even if it had the most votes due to being way less popularity than the Classic Castle.

The first one was disqualified after hitting 10k but before the review stage started. I believe due to the designer being a LEGO employee or something. Still a slim chance of being picked though

Mosasaurus is pretty much the main thing I want out of a set (plus Spinosaurus). Though if they do it it will probably be either a) scaled down to the size of the T-Rex/Indominus (I think that’s even about the size actually ones were since the one in JW is scaled up) or b) be a brick built like the T-Rex in 75936.

Probably the best bet would be for him to appear in a “what if?” set if they do more from the series -
I did not know about the designer, so that does alleviate some of my grievance with it. For me, I just dislike how 90% of pride month is companies going “we slapped a rainbow on this. buy it.” It’s a practice that just feels disingenuous as a whole even when the intentions do happen to be good.

Gotta love that Rainbow Capitalism Maybe if they donate proceeds to charity, but otherwise it’s just a shameless cash grab.

Surprising that the video game and set licenses are different, since they were allowed to have Stan Lee be a character in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. -

From the Reddit AMA “Marvel came up with the idea for him to be Ron Barney. He already had this appearance.” So it sounds like the Barney fig was originally going to be a generic Daily Bugle employee until Marvel suggested naming him. -

Well crap. Maybe someday LEGO will release a realistically available minifig. -

A classic suit Spider-Woman still has a possibility of showing up, right? Cause technically she could count as a repeat minifigure since she was a SDCC exclusive. -
The Wolf and Ghost are pretty great looking, though the blind boxes pretty much guarantees I won’t watch buy any directly. Will try and pick up those two off Bricklink though. Hopefully this doesn’t become the standard for all blind figures.
-
Well that’s disappointing. Only 1 out of 35? I was hoping LEGO would be expanding their approval numbers due to the huge increase in projects making it to 10k

Was not expecting Bionicle to make it into the final vote, but it sure is a welcome surprise.
