LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
DentedFrood replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
It's default space ship, white on top, black on bottom. Still feels future nasa space instead of science fiction/fantasy space. I like it, but it needs a pop of color added somewhere -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
DentedFrood replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks, It just arrived. Interestingly was supposed to be 99 total items with the out of stock items removed. I received 176 total items. Some of the parts I received extras past the requested quantities. I don't know if they were being generous for my troubles, or just a mistake. Just ordered a new standard parts order to get the purple helmets -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
DentedFrood replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
In my experience, their estimate is the earliest it will arrive, but it could be much later. My last 2 Standard Pick A Brick orders took 38 and 49 days to arrive. I'm also 70 days and counting waiting for a Bestseller order to arrive and those say 5 days... Apparently a couple of items weren't actually in stock and their restock keeps getting delayed. This week I was able to talk them into splitting the out of stock items off separately so that the other parts can ship. -

Knight of the Yellow Castle was very popular with the Castle crowd. I saw posts with large hordes of them -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
DentedFrood replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
As said, those sets are recent, but they are not common. TLG seems to have a lot of nostalgia themselves. If anything this series is quite well rounded and has almost everything covered, but now that you mention it we're missing a pirate 🏴☠️ 😜 I'll probably get at least 8 of the figs, of castle and space I'll probably get multiple, but I have a display plan I'm working on for the new big castle. It's my first castle. I had castle figs but never a castle -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 24. Rumors and discussion
DentedFrood replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What regular sets? While Castle has been getting some love recently, it has no dedicated line and hasn't in nearly a decade. Now appearing only in Ideas, Creator, and Icons (anniversary). Classic Space happens to get an anniversary set this year, but otherwise the only reasons we have seen any Classic Space sets in recent years is due to the Lego Movies. Typically we only see Classic Space minifigs in books, CMFs. I think you're falling prey to recency bias because Castle and Classic Space both have big sets right now, but you're not taking into account how rare that is. Castle and Space (various) are are also staples of CMF and definitely belong in this series -

Some parts such as the Black Falcon torso and the black Dark Knight Helmet showed back in stock the last couple of days, but are already out of stock again. I saw this come up in one of the facebook castle groups where people were talking about placing large orders for the Black Falcon torso as soon as it showed back in stock -
10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
DentedFrood replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
My store has so far been laid back about it. I don't think they checked it at all when they rang it up this time, if he did it was quick, but I always assume I'm going to get challenged on it. So far I've done it 5 or 6 times and only had it questioned once. Even then after I pointed out it still matched the 15 pieces total, they kind of shrugged, might have checked with another employee, and ended up being cool with it Edited to fix grammar- 2,976 replies

10305 Lion Knights' Castle 90th anniversary set
DentedFrood replied to R0Sch's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I went a few weeks ago and my store didn't have them. I went on the 15th to get the Forest Hideout GWP and they had them. I didn't get 3 complete figures but picked up 15 various pieces, including 4 of the new BF torsos, and a few BF shields- 2,976 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion
DentedFrood replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I saw that promobricks recently went to the Cologne Lego store that reopened and they had the CMFs presorted by figure, but were limiting purchase to one of each type. I'm curious if this is unique to the Cologne location, or if others will be doing that Edit: Commentor said the Berlin store confirmed by phone they are also doing this -
Is it possible to get a copy of the original pirate bay entry that you guys have masterfully recreated? I'm wanting to use it as inspiration, and would love to get a closer look

Lego Shop already had an order backlog before the set launched. I think with so many people stay at home, physical stores closed, and the double VIP points promotion that just ended, they've seen a big increase in online orders. I placed an order for US delivery on March 28th, shipping label wasn't generated until April 4th, and it wasn't picked up by FedEx until April 6th. I ordered Pirate Bay a few minutes into April 1st, so best case I'm not expecting any movement on the order until tomorrow at the earliest, if not a few more days or even into next week. I miss the Lego Stores being open, as I have one only a few miles from the house I haven't made any specific plans for my build. I do plan to build it out as the bay, then convert it to the ship. At that point I want to try to rebuild a custom version of the Bay/docks with what I have on-hand. Not identical to the original Ideas, but something to put a building or two back. I might also customize the ship, change some parts/colors. I want to display it with 6271 Imperial Flagship and Renegade Runner, both of which I just rebuilt for the first time in probably 25+ years

I don't get classic NES style Mario from this figure. It looks more like a Duplo figure based on the Brickhead style dressed as Mario
-
At this point I'm going to assume no minifigs until we see them, but that would be nice This is an interesting and novel concept, but I'm not sure what I think about it or how it will be received. It feels like this set is going after kids who might not already be into LEGO, but enjoy games and Mario. So it will be interesting to see how it does. I'm not sure how I feel about the style of Mario. It seem just seems far off from most of the recent versions of Mario. Blocky and more like a Duplo figure

I know this theme is Super Mario not Mario Kart, but I'd really love at least one of the sets to have karts

I was just curious what issues there might be. I think they can move forward without having it finalized. It's not uncommon to see companies request trademarks long after a product or brand has been on the market

I skimmed the office action. It doesn't look like there were any issues with the mark itself, but multiple issue with the documentation. Essentially the got sent back a list of things they need to fix, clarify, and add INTRODUCTION The referenced application has been reviewed by the assigned trademark examining attorney. I never claimed anything other than anecdotal, easily clued into with the specified sample size of 2 nephews, though I probably should have counted the 3rd. He likes Mario too, it just wasn't on his christmas list. However I didn't approach it with much of a bias other than curiosity. You seem to be coming at it with a negative bias against not just the Super Mario theme, but any theme that is not one of "your" themes. If it wasn't Mario, Trolls, and Minions it proably still wouldn't be additional Star Wars, Space, and Castle. TLG tries to keep their offerings diverse and what's popular, which is why there are always movie tie-ins.
-
My nephews (7 & 8) were all about Mario last year for Christmas. It's still a very strong property. They also like getting the Pokemon Mega sets. Unless their tastes have changed, I think they'll be really excited about this theme, and they are right in the middle of TLG target demographic. As someone who's first love game console was the NES (wasn't my first, but the first I really got into), I'm excited to see what they do with this line. You mentioned earlier some of the other tie-ins, I think my niece (almost 5) might like the Trolls line, she was big into it after the last movie and she's just getting old enough for LEGO. Not sure if any of them are into Minions right now, but that also has a new movie, so we'll see. Though my partner has expressed interest in one of the Minions sets, and she usually only wants NASA type space sets, plus the occasional dragon or beast

This has been officially teased by LEGO and Nintendo, and I would assume Mario and Pokemon are entirely seperate licenses. Isn't Pokemon a joint venture partially owned by Nintendo versus Mario being solely Nintendo's?

New LEGO Awesome Activity Book with Pirate minifigure
DentedFrood replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ollie's Bargain Outlet near me carries these right now for $2.99. Currently they have this pirate, Superman, Ninjago, and Star Wars (R2). I've also seen Batman and a few others in the past. I regularly check there for minifig books. Five Below is also know to carry minifig books, but they charge $4.99
