LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Kelleran Beq's speeder looks really good, a bit oversized for my liking. Not sure if it's like that because of the box image or if it feels/looks different in hand. Kelleran's fig is amazing. Happy we are getting a pram for Grogu. 2x 501st troopers look great, but I can understand some people are getting sick of them. Will either get 9 of them for another squad or just switch helmets with one of my 12 captain Vaughns. Definitely getting this set, but I think the value for $30 could be better. If I compare it to the Mandalorian Forge and the Trouble on Tatooine which are also the Mandalorian sets at $30 I am pretty happy getting less than 80 pieces, but getting an extra 1 figure. If I compare it to other Star Wars sets though like the current $30 battle pack where you get 1 accurate vehicle (STAP), 5 droids and 4 clones it feels it's lacking in the minifigure department and they couldn't even give us printed pieces. Either way I think all the Mandalorian $30 sets are some of the best sets we got in the last 5 years. -

Sith infiltrator was the only set I looked forward to the most this year not counting the Mandalorian battle pack. The build looks horrible, the price is even worse cause we are paying $15 for the "free" anniversary figure. No Panaka that was rumoured is criminal, only 3 figures for the only The Phantom Menace anniversary set with figures for 25 years is so outrageous. Do not want or need Saw Guerrera, but I have to ask why are they not using the Echo (from Marvel) leg piece for him? Why are we still not using the monkey kid hilt for Maul? Why Fives wasn't in this set and Saw in the New Hope/Rogue one hallway? No special tile or a brick showing Maul or something special from The Phantom Menace to celebrate the anniversary like Return of the jedi got last year. 25 years since the movie and we still do not have majority of the characters and the ships from the movie. Idk how anyone can support or have excuses for this absolute thrash that's thrown to us for premium prices. -

Yeah, it's going to be really interesting to see. Previous anniversary figures were repeats with prints on the back and these ones are actual unique figures so I can't really compare them to anything. I am hoping for OT purists, sales and people buying multiple sets (to make them into one big one) to drop the price at least to the point where I don't feel like I have to get the set cause it's worth more than just getting a figure. In my mind all these anniversary figures should be a celebration of fans, people that work on the theme and celebration of the franchise. Instead LEGO is throwing anniversary figures in sets that they shouldn't be in while increasing the set prices. Han Solo should have been a free figure as a token of appreciation from LEGO for the 20th anniversary and instead they threw him in a battle pack while increasing the sets price by whooping 33% and now they are doing things even worse and releasing sought after figures like Malak and Jesse in sets they don't belong in while increasing not only the prices of these sets, but also earning additional money by getting percentage of bricklink sales from people that are forced to buy them separately. They could have put all these figures in polybags like they did with 20th anniversary Obi Wan and no one would complain about having to pay $5 or why not just give figures for free, not increase the set prices and earn money by selling a display case for the figures. -

I think Boarding on Tantive should have been a diorama and the Endor speeder chase should have been a set. They could have made it look really premium and now it just looks like a beefier Dark Trooper set with some big cons like 10 stickers, non accurate Vader torso, still using family guy stormtrooper helmets and Endor speeder chase feels lacking in backdrop, has a lame quote, bad leg prints which would have been acceptable in a non premium diorama set. Those 3 rebels look cool though and packaging looks really cool. I feel like if you don't care about Fives and get this on some kind of sale for $40-$45 and then sell Fives you recoup $8-$12 more and this set then doesn't sound as bad for $30. This whole anniversary figure concept is really weird to me. Shouldn't they be giving us extra free things as a thank you for being their customers for 25 years and not just throw in random figures that don't belong there and then increasing the set prices because of it. Everything else I ever collected would give me these beautiful coins or special cards, additional figures or extra toys and here I feel like I am being scammed. -

My assumption is that people either saw the leaked set, a prototype of some sorts or a picture and couldn't identify the creature so they just told us the only thing they found interesting about it. With so many shows coming this year it could be something we never even saw. I can totally see the bad batch going on some pointless mission/chore where they encounter the creature. -

Fives looks horrid, helmet print is terrible, no waist cape, pauldron looks awful and you have to buy an OT set to get it. Only torso print and printed arms looks decent. Very disappointed with the 25th anniversary of TPM content if these are all the sets. 25 years and we didn't get half of the vehicles from the movie as well as some of the characters like Rune Haako, Neimodian pilots and Boss Nass. Couldn't even give us a rehashed Queen Amidala whos price is a whooping $150 (without any issues with it). -

My thoughts on the rumoured list: Death Star playset sounds exciting, I love the imperial officer figures so any of them would come handy and selling the Cal Kestis minifig out of it would offset some of the cost. Only negatives would be the family guy stormtroopers and the fact that we aren't getting any of the ships or sets from the game otherwise Cal's figure wouldn't be there. Dark Side Millenium Falcon: sounds like a really cool and out of the ordinary thing that they are trying to do which is exciting, sadly as a mainly prequel fan I don't even own a regular version or care about it at all so pass. Tie Fighter and X-Wing set: not for me, sounds interesting though Escape from the Sarlacc: Boba not having pauldron in a $90 set is criminal, will/will not get this set based on the UCS Sail Barge cause that set has potential to be the best UCS set we have ever gotten with tons of minifigs and interior, but can also be a disaster (if that UCS set is even coming at all) Sith Infiltrator: Incredibly excited, can't wait to see Panaka's figure, Maul's speeder and I am curious if there is anything interesting with the Maul's figure, I am so interested in this set that they would really need to do something horrible and innacurate with it to make me not buy it Jedi Bob starfighter: since 1999 I don't think I have been less excited about a set like I am about this one, I don't understand the hype or the added price on a non-canon character All in all some decent stuff and LEGO trying something new. Not too hard on my wallet so I can focus on upcoming Mandalorian battle pack. -

So the new "battle pack" leaked. In my personal opinion it's horrible. Barc speeder is innacurate and just looks horrible which wouldn't be a problem in a $15-$20 battle pack, but we are paying $30 for it. Tri-Droid also looks really bad, like a child made it out of spare parts. STAP looks decent. How many years droid army builders waited for a battle pack just to have to pay $30 and get clones they don't want with it and one little decent build with nothing special like a tactical droid, magna guard or even a security guard? Clone figures are decent, but there is no leadership like an officer or a sergeant so not good for army building and you are also paying $10 extra to get only 4 figures you need and no useful builds. Bottom 5 battle packs ever made imo. -

I don't think you understand what army building is. Lot of you guys devoid the "art form" of any creativity, imagination and canon and minimize it into this depressing and repetitive stacking of the same figure on a baseplate. Your superficial view overlooks the dedication and passion that drives half of people in the army building community. Speaking of the gunship build I really like it, especially the size. To nitpick a bit I don't like the stud shooters, but I understand I can easily remove them. I really don't like that the republic insignia (idk if the word is correct) is a sticker considering how much we are paying for the set. From the figures I love the Coruscant Guards and Padme. Would prefer Palpatine having legs and not the dress piece, but the print and everything else looks really good. I hate Fox from inacurate torso print to the lack of kama and would have prefered another figure like a pilot instead if they couldn't do him justice. I am definitely getting one, but not day one as I need to focus on clone battle packs. -

You are completely right. I definitely see and understand that, what some of us want and need will be disasterous for others and whatever LEGO does will just make one of the sides "angry". When it comes to the 501st battle pack I really LOVE the officer figure and I will be switching helmets on some of them to have proper leadership for 332nd, but I think they could have done some things better like add pauldrons and kamas for heavy troopers. Those of us that don't like those troops could just remove those accessories and have regular troopers. Yes, LEGO has been giving us all the clones we asked for from Rex, Cody, Fox To Vaughn, but their executions on some of them is not really that great sadly. I am especially salty about the Vaughn helmet. Don't forget my boy Rune Haako who was in all 3 prequel movies. -

Grogu's escape: this is the set I am looking forward the most. We can get barc speeder, pram, Naboo guards, clones, Kelleran and all those things are exciting to me. The skeleton crew ship: depends if I like the show or not Podrace Diorama: getting it unless it's miniscale Droideka and R2-D2: 0 interest Midi-Scale sets: 0 interest, hate midi scale stuff, but happy they stopped making those awful helmets Tantive boarding diorama: sounds like a great set, need to see how it looks though Clone and droid battle pack: I hate it, I have no use for B2 and super battle droids cause they are so outdated and brittle and they don't give us anything good like tactical droids or super tactical droids. Build will most likely be as awful, oversized and inacurate as the 501st $30 set was and I will end up paying $30 for 4 clones again. If the clones are all plain phase 2 they are awful for army building cause there are no proper ranks as in officers, sergeants, lieutenants, commanders, majors, generals. Will most likely not get them at all unless the builds are accurate and focus on current 501st and 332nd. I would have preffered 2x $20 battle packs over this one. Young Jedi adventure sets: not really interested as I don't watch the show, but if the set is looking good I might get it. -

This Chewbacca thing is horrible. It goes under the same umbrella as brickbuilt helmets for me, even if you give me one for free I wouldn't take it. They could have done so many different things with this set budget and they decided on this. -

Jabba's palace was competing with the Emperor's throne room for a spot so it's either cancelled or pushed back. Lifebricks also said it didn't have the same features that made the 2012 "controversial" so we can assume it didn't get removed cause of it. -

Gunship looks... Interesting I guess. I really hope the republic crest is a print and not a sticker. Color kinda bugs me cause I don't think bright red is accurate, but won't affect if I get the set or not as much as the print/sticker is. Commander Fox looks ugly and has an ugly helmet, not sure if it will look better with the visor. Torso and knee armor also look innacurate. Don't really care about the lack of waist cape or helmet holes personally. Definitely need better pictures for everything to make the final decision. -

For me: 1. Imperial Scout Trooper 2. Bo Katan 3. Boba Fett (from the mech) 4. 501st officer 5. Mandalorian Fleet Commander (might be biased) 6. Endor Leia (even though she is innacurate) 7. Snub fighter pilot -

332nd Battle Pack is amazing apart from Vaugn's helmet and visor, even if the print on the visor was hard to pull off, they could have at least give him the proper color for it. That aspect is kinda annoying. Rest of the set is perfect, 3 figures of the same kind plus jetpacks on 2 of them, great for mixing and matching with the current and only 501st battle pack. Yoda's starfighter is terrible, I did have too high of expectation thinking it will be the battlefront interceptor though. Not having a third figure is horrible as well. Yavin figures look really good, but not into OT apart from Endor so pass. Definitely getting Boba Fett's mech and maybe Vader's if it hit any kind of sale cause otherwise I can just get the Vader figure for under $10 on bricklink. Stormtrooper mech looks decent, but they still use that disgusting family guy helmet so pass. -

1. Actually if you go on bricklink and look up figures that are in the Cantina you would see that the figure of a sandtrooper with orange pauldron sw1123 is labeled as Squad leader or a captain which they leave for you to pick and use as your desire. 2. Actually according to wookipedia and star wars fandom that name 6 different notes and references Clone lieutenant and Sergeant were ranks in the Grand Army of the Republic held by clone trooper officers therefore you can use that officer from the only 501st battle pack for either position. Clone trooper pilots could also hold that rank and one of those pilot lieutenants served as a gunship pilot during the battle of Teth. Speaking of clone specialist most of them ended up serving as sergeants, commanders etc. For example Waxer who was a Platoon Sergeant for the 212th Attack Battalion, who led the platoon known as Ghost Company with his loyal partner Boil was one of the specialists. It's not my head canon it's just LEGO Star Wars fans crying at every minute detail and innacuracy and hold LEGO to the highest standards, but then they don't have the self respect to hold themselves to those same standards and find it silly and head canon when someone else does. -

I am not army building based on a real life army organization. I am army building based on Star Wars books, reference books, star wars insider magazine articles written by people that specialize in that sort of thing. It is clearly said in for example Star Wars: Complete Locations book how big the clone army is and how it is built. Most books were written before TCW came out and did whatever looked cool and was cheaper to make. Even then for example in the Bad Batch episode The Outpost the commander there had a squad of 7 dead troopers (helmets were there) and two surviving ones so even in some of the media there is a clear and correct number. LEGO correctly named and labeled the proper ranks of multiple figures for army building no matter what you want to army build: we have 2 phase 1 clones labeled as lieutenants, 3 first order officers/lieutenants, rebel lieutenants and imperial officers, there is also Scarif squad leader, first order squad leader for both helmet styles, 3 sandtrooper squad leaders, there are stormtrooper sergeants, clone trooper sergeants, sergeant Hunter, sandtrooper sergeant and officers that you can use for any of it and ofc higher ranked figures like captains, commanders, generals. The Wolfpack would be a great idea. I am not suggesting people should army build full grand army of the republic with billions of troopers. Building squads and other units you can afford with clear goal of what you are doing is much better than sticking figures on a baseplate aimlessly cause you saw a youtuber did it. Squad of 10 stormtroopers and an officer to lead them is perfectly fine and so is 9 x 501st troopers lead by a 501st officer. That's $50. If you have more money get a platoon for $205 lead by a lieutenant. This is how armies are build with miniatures, in roleplay, with Hasbro figures it's just the LEGO community that copies youtubers who have no idea what they are doing. Ofc people can enjoy Star Wars and do whatever they want, but for me it's not fun to do things wrong and innacurately when there are clear canon references and sources on how these thing looked in the universe. -

Yes we do need them. 332nd is separate from the 501st and has 144 troopers of the same kind + 16 sergeants + 4 lieutenants and a captain. You can't army build that from the $40 AAT set with one trooper. One trooper that's $20 a piece atm on bricklink while Kashyyyk troopers are $14 and already had their own battle pack for $12. The only 501st battle pack comes from 2023 and gives us much needed officer and specialist that can be used as a lieutenant and a sergeant, not only for the 501st, but also for the 332nd army by switching their helmets. They are essential for army building. The biggest issue imo is that people copy clueless youtubers that stick the same figure on a baseplate and call it army building so they don't really appreciate or understand the importance of officers, sergeants, squad leaders, lieutenants etc that are essential for army building and think of it as uselles and non army buildable. LEGO should just put 4 of the same figures in a battle pack for people that want to copy Solid Brix Studios and then leadership in a $15 accessory pack for us that want to army build. -

There are 5x VIP points in Sweden, they only screwed most of Eastern Europe out of them. Deals are beyond horrible and so are prices, AT-TE is 1800 kr ($175) in the LEGO store and 1274 kr ($123) on the Swedish Amazon. Might as well have $50 over the promo and even if you get it off bricklink you are in plus. -

To be honest I am not even sure what's happening. There are 3 LEGO stores in three countries in this area: Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia. Physical LEGO stores look exactly like any other LEGO store in the world, but their sites are very different. I am not sure if any of these countries even got the coin GWP that I wanted so badly cause I was on all 3 of them midnight and didn't get it in any of the carts. They are also not doing 5x VIP thing and instead offering 10% discount on all Star Wars set, but the catch is that all sets are overpriced aka Endor Speeder Chase is set to 80 euros, but here it's actually 90 euros which is around $99. -
Landspeeder 7110 in 1999 was my first Star Wars set , then I got the Droid Fighter 7111 in 2000 and then in 2002 I got final duel 1. Despite getting a set here and there as a little kid, I thought yellow heads on the figures are the lamest thing imaginable so I was more into action figures, collecting movie sticker albums and other star wars toys like micromachines. To this day I still hate yellow LEGO heads. In 2007 MTT came out and I got super into LEGO Star Wars. The Phantom Menace was (still is) my favorite Star Wars movie so being able to replay one of my favorite scenes from the movie with droids coming out of the MTT was a dream come true. I had so much fun with that set and red security droid was my favorite figure. The clone wars coming in 2008 made me love the theme even more and in 2009 my entire neighbourhood started collecting which made collecting better, easier and even more fun. 2009 was the absolute peak with the Endor Bunker set that gave me almost the same amount of fun as the MTT. We also had Clone battle pack, AAT, Republic and Separatist shuttles and most importantly my then favorite character Nute Gunray. I have been collecting ever since and I have been waitin for 24 years for Rune Haako and Nute Gunray minfiigures from episode 1.
