Thats great, love the journey through history! :D

Thankyou both! Here's a few more photos of the roof and quick video off instagram showing how the vents attach :)

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'm doing some more detailed shots and techniques on my instagram but not sure if I'm allowed to plug that here! :D

Looks great man, love the arrivals board. Maybe some buffer stops at the end of the tracks would look good? I see you've gone back to the old school with stickers across multiple pieces too! Awesome job! :)

I missed the line above the first V too I think 6007 was part of the Fright Knights series which kind of makes sense... still quite niche!

Hey guys, some of you may already have seen my machine tools. Today I've more or less finished the outside of the building they live in. It's a train engine maintenance / small repairs workshop. Still a bit of work to do on the interior and the doors, but I think its about 99% done (nothing is ever really finished though right?!) Here's a few photos - planning to take some better detail shots in the next couple of days. And a video that I can't work out how to embed!

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
nwbricks replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
+1 for a reimagining of the farm series! I'm biased because I'm planning a MOC based around a crashed UFO/farm crossover but some 50's style retro-Alien easter eggs - think Destroy All Humans style - would be awesome. Would tie in nicely with the Diner modular too! -
Imagine if this was Disney branded, it would be at least an extra 30% more expensive. I don't follow Disney and it doesn't really interest me, along with most of the branded LEGO themes. I just really really like the look of this set. No brand tie-ins to satisfy or compromise the design, plus the 18+ marking, piece count and all the 90s adventurers references just feels like this has been targeted at AFOLs who were 90s kids (like me!) It also comes out on my birthday so there's that :D Can't wait!

Is the 18+ thing relatively new, or have I just missed it? I can only ever remember seeing 16+ until fairly recently If the leak is true (which it looks like!), the house looks awesome, although I agree about the box art. I get the premium "feel" but it's a bit of a departure for a fairground set. There does look to be some sort of mechanism in the tower... could add a few more storeys for sure ;)

Added some generic cabinets, bench vise and ubiquitous Henry hoover! :)

Such a nuts idea, really well done, I love it!

Love the Death Proof Nova! Custom prints are spot on. Maybe a blood splatter on the grille (or a flying severed leg) for some extra detail :D

Thanks everyone! I've just added a little welding cart to the lineup. Nice change of pace from all the grey. Thank you :D Re the width of the building - it was limited because of where it sits on the layout, but I think I've got a plan for solving that. Cheers!
-
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I've just added a 3-axis milling machine to the lineup: And here's a little shot of the building so far. It's pretty tight as you can see, but there's some alcoves at the back that give a bit more room. Still will probably end up extending it! Cheers :)

Man, I'd totally forgotten I posted in here, things have progressed a lot since then haha! Windowsill town looked great! :)

Hey all, hope everyone is doing ok in the current climate! As part of the work on my layout I'm building a small maintenance/repair shop for my trains. I got tired of sorting dark red bricks so I've been building some of the equipment. So far got a lathe, drill press and grinder but I'm thinking to add a milling machine, shaper, welding cart/station, broaching machine and maybe a furnace out the back. Hope you like 'em! :) Lathe: Drill press: Grinder (+ bonus big boy tap wrench!) Cheers!

Cheers dude! Thanks :) and well, the trains are released under the City banner, but you're probably right!

Hey, me again! The 60197 engine redesign seemed to go down well so thought I'd have a crack over the weekend at reimagining my favourite childhood set, the 4564 freight rail runner. It was a bit of a challenge given the original was 9v with zero internals, but pretty pleased with how it's looking so far. Here's the original (I cant build them both together as I only have one set of the big 1x5x4 doors!) And here's me looking thrilled about having my photo taken on my 6th birthday... ... and here is my updated, Powered-Up version. It's still very much a work in progress but I'm pretty pleased with it so far. The chassis is brick built, and works out around 7x32(ish) studs. I wanted to use the original yellow prism bricks for the headlights but the new PF2 lights shine blue, and blue+yellow=green, with no way to filter the light. The lights on the model go through a trans-orange brick and then a trans-yellow on on top to make them yellow. I've been using the Brick Controller 2 app on an old iphone to let me control the thing with a PS4 controller which is very satisfying! Cheers :)

Cheers, and duly noted :) definitely pick one up if its on offer! Thanks! Not sure if it'll be powered or just a dummy unit, but there will be a second one. Once I get round to it... :)
-
Thanks man! Had a few messages on instagram about instructions, if there's enough interest I will put some together :)
-
Cheers, and yeah, its a fair bit heavier! Thank you very much! Thanks dude, the blue and yellow gives it away doesn't it! :)

I recently picked up the 60197 passenger train but I've never been a fan of the big, moulded cockpits so decided to have a go at a reimagining of the loco. It's a bit of a mix of various different designs, definitely a splash of British Rail Intercity 125 in there ;) It's on a 28 stud train base rather than the 24 stud one and I've still got a few little tweaks to make, but overall pretty happy how its turned out. Most importantly it can get round my layout! Cheers!
