What is most disapointing to me about CADA Brick models is the very primitive RC handset Solution. If iam right the are part of DoubleE a big player at least in the RC toy sector. For example: The made a huge marketing noise when presenting italian super car or Mercedes. But are unable / not willing , to provide a control handset where at least the steering lever points in right direction (left /right) instead of up/down. I will not disscuss the missing of proportional controls any more, CADA seams to be just not yualified to provide models that can realy deal with. I agree that for the current cars they have provided, neither for the steering (steering abgle / turn radius) nor for the drive control (lack of speed an torque) a proportional control is realy needed. What i have missed is a cool design style for the handsets about this kits, some toy manufacturers do for their kits,. A RC Handset thats looks more about a dashboard if an italien or german sportscar. ... Never mind but they have createdd a new lower end point RC design when presenting the claas dominator . No control concept no idea for a customized RC handset with a design where case of control is moulded a litle bit in class dashboard style. Just presenting their lame "alibi" solution and focus all on App control. Exspecially about such great functional models i would like to see a physical control solution thats suites such kits more in the future. I would like to the something that can improve the "wow" and play factor to make the eyes of kits shining , and not to get bored after minutes . If i could make a wish / sugestion : If it is to complicated / to expensive for CADA here i have another idea: Open your informations of the RC protocol a litte bit and it can be integrated in the integrated multiprotocol project. Here the customer can choose from a wider varity of RC handsets to control CADA battery boxes in the future. The biggest disadvantage of all RC Bricksets is that all manufacterers use their own protocoll. That was same in the RC Section before introduction of ELRS. It would be very nice if "we" can integrate as much as possible brickset based RC protocols here to. What do you think from the point of view as a CADA fan ?

Hello all, a short while ago i have noticed this project: Home | MULTI-Module Documentation https://github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/ It is about an RC trasmitter interface module based on 4 different transceiver chips. As as result plenty off different RC protocols can be supportet here. Since the presentation of ELRS you may it obsolete for future use in the RC sector, but as long as their are the huge number of receivers on the market with their own brand specific protocols i think it is still usefull. What is this all about according to brick sets ? I was suprised to see that at least Mould King is supported here ,too: https://github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/blob/master/Protocols_Details.md#mouldkg---90 As a result, if you are using MK Battery Boxes V4 or V6, you can choose from a wide varity of RC Transmitters to control your brick build models. What is the idea behind: Using the capabilities of the transmitters, as well as option to put additional lua scripts to create more convinient user expereinces and increase the overall play factor. I made a first introduction on Youtube.Currently in german only , will next example with some cheaper controls later on in english. Question is , what do you think about idea behind ? Is it usefull for our requirements or "oversized". If you wn't to support the project, you are invited to have a look at issue (new protocols under construction) or discussions settion (for new wishes) we are working on the integration of CADA: https://github.com/pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module/issues/1086 Wich manufactures you wan't to have integrated here in addition ? Have a nice week an stay healty.

Hello, 1. Most important: @GianCann had passed away , this week. 2. I am also attracted by other projects "during a longer period". I think, you hould have a look to the Pybrick project documentation. -
I did not know him , too . I allways enjoyed the controversal, but inspiring discussions with him, very much. I am looking foreward , to continue this dicussion and exchange when we once meet on the "other side". Too the family and friends: He has left many footsteps behind, we can still follow him. I think he will be always missed, but never forgotten ;-)

Ask @GianCann about his basic example he made with color sensor and ESP32, i think sample code here will be good point to start with. Plenty of other info can be found within "pybricks" documentation.

From my point of view it is always the same, during the last year, me and other tried o attract others to come together to fill the number of gaps. In the end, with only litle feedback from inside the "neerds community" and absolutely none feedback from the big group from potential users / customers.Same with keybrick: During the period "others" are asked for serious support, nearly no reaction. Once is it gone : Same people wondering and asking ?!. -

@TheSpaceCadet: Solution for you is quite simple, from my point of view, and my experience i made during the last year. 1. Yes of course, look around, and follow discussion, be inspired by the work of others. 2. Conentrate and stay focused on your requirements nly, do not waste your time on kickstater, do not waste your time in endless discussions what others may think about your plans. 3. Simply do your products by yourself and just impress us with your result (if your like). 4. The only person that has to be satisfied by your project is you ;-) -
Keybrick One / Rechargeable battery pack for Powered Up
ruppie replied to keybrickone's topic in LEGO Train Tech
To me it was interesting to see, that most of the comments at the end of both, german and english youtube presentation, where much about the youtubers themself andtheir furure planings and only less focused on the keybrick product. Maybe only my subjective impression. More important: Obviously Staud Technologies, seems to be not interested in targeting a wider range of customers. "We are in a niche, and targeting custmers that are willing to pay a higher price for "special" non "OEM" , "ordinary" products.....". I dont like a company that uses phrases like "niche" as xlusives why they products have to be high priced. But: If you are successfull with that, congartulations from my side, because the success of some smartphone manufacturers and their high priced products has nothing in common with production cost or production charges . Its all about marketing ;-) -

You may have noticed, "Keybrick one" is a good example for that, that platforms like kickstarter are not the best locations for product presentation and in many places the wrong place if you are interested reaching a wider range of possible cutomers. On the other : Interesting to see that, Kick starter campaigns about classic board games easily reach their (often high) targets, and "technic nerd products" often fail The main problem in own opinion: It eems that many people open a kickstarter campaign, because it seems that they do not have a real idea / use case / concept about their products. As a result they often fall into the trap to become to dependent on meanings and ideas of others nstead following their plan . As a result: These ideas are "disscussed until they are dead". -

Simple answer, Produkt presentation Is one year to late. Meanwhile I maturised myself In softwaredevelopment as well as in Electronic to solve all requifements I am facing by myself. Abort KIckstarter: I think you stept into Same trap as Keybrick one and other. Neither such portal, nor an BrIckfan Forum are a good place for Produkt presentation. You should find a venture capItal Investor instead -

"Spread the word! Talk to other AFOLs about keybrick." I think that is one of the mayor problem about it: Marketing and advertising is only your tasks, not ours ! It seems that you where pretty inactive and not very aware about it. We are not your sales department, in case this was the misunderstanding.Your estimated sales price will be ~ 70€ ?! Why you are wondering that we / potential Customer have some expectations about it. From my point of view you have set your focus towards some LEGO usegroups that are some type of closed "special clubs" with only little connection to the real word, by means reaching a wider range of possible clients, the children that owns this type of trains and their parents. Example: In your video on kickstarter there are child playing with the LEGO Train. Which activities you made in this direction ? Same is never ending story of excuses, why not sing actual USB C connectors as most electronic developers to for new designs theses days. For me it looks like a good idea in the beginning that have missed some importants requirements in the end. I wich you the very best, my advise would be, go back to workbench and do some refinement about electronic design and product presentation. From my point of view, a moulded case is a must for that price ! Why do you think we are interested in buying prototypes, or the rest of your development samples ? As you said in german "dr bricks" forum: .."We do not now how it will be continued if Kick starter fails". When i compare all statments, and even the way the presentation on the youtube video ot the "austrian fan": It sounds to me that the people that are least convinced about the procuct are you ! -

Short answer to the question: No, it does not meet at least one of my requirements. For that reason i decided to build my own solutions. Long answer: Beside the fact , that is does not fit any of my needs, it makes our world more colorful having people like you and produtcs like yours. I think diversity is the key ;-) It looks like a evolution of this basic concept: https://www.crowdsupply.com/keith-packard/snekboard -

I would like to introduce my own control Solution: >>My Radio BLEuS << ( Bluetooth Low Energy useful System) Powered by Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense, 4 x Power funtions port - 9V/1.5 A, each (optional updatable by that: Adafruit DRV8871 DC Motor Driver Breakout Board - 3.6A Max) --> Keep in mind the technical requirements to provide ~ 130W by using max, current simulanoiusly , at all ports ! Not realy needed for an ordinary Brickset Car. In A MOC i would recomend; Battery, ESC, and BL Motors taken from "real" RC Motor Sports section. power supply by PF Bat. box or internal 9V/ 1000 mAh Accu Internal Akku has USB charge connector. Control options: Infrared, by using PF IR Transmitter RC Transmitter(up to 4 channel) supporting, "AFHSD2A" LEGO Powered Up App LEGO Control+ Profiles Because of S-Brick published their protocol , it can be used with their mobile app , too. Because of, Brickcontroller 2 app works with any PU Hub, that is emulated by using profiles here, you can use Brickcontroller 2 app, also. Additions: SD Kart Slot for storing profiles , used by PU or Control+,...... Programming via USB Port, or JTAG connetor. Supported Frameworks: Arduino, MBED,Nordic SDK Note about Arduino Frameworks: Works with ArduinoBLE, as well as Adafruit BLUfruit Libraries by using Adafruit Bootloader. It is my new development base for next projects to come ;-) Greetings Marc
