  3. Mindstorms History 18 2000 - LEGO released set 9754, the Dark Side Developer Kit. It uses the same Micro Scout found in the earlier set 9748 combined with new parts to build cool vehicles such as the Destroyer Droid, the AT-AT, and the Droid starfighter. Still one of my favourite sets.

  5. Mindstorms History 16 2000 - LEGO released set 9731 Vision Command. Unfortunately you still needed a computer to use the camera, but it was still amazingly cool.
  6. Mindstorms History 15 1999 - The first Star Wars LEGO Mindstorms set, 9748 Droid Developer Kit was released. It came with the Micro Scout, which had a motor and a light sensor, with 7 programs built in.
  7. Mindstorms History 14 1998 - The first ever First LEGO League competition is held.
  8. You could build all the models with the SPIKE Prime set. All LEGO has to do is to change the packaging, create the building instructions and do the program. I'd be more than happy to help them with that, as I've done it before for the Robot Inventor set with the LIGHTPLANE model. But I guess they're more interested in USD500+ big honking display sets at present.
  9. Hahahahaha perhaps. First, SPIKE Prime still exists. Second, I was planning to do robots based on what was featured on the Friends 2018 Girls on a mission TV series (Zobo, Zobo drone mode, Zobo Segway mode, Mission vehicle) but I didn't have time. The guitar fits Andrea though. Third, Because it's the first of April and I felt like having a bit of fun. Incidentally, I'll be publishing building instructions for Zobo and Zobo Drone mode on my YouTube channel tomorrow. All you need to build them is the SPIKE Prime set. Might do the rest if I have time.
  10. Spike hub has a heart when switched on :D. Fits better with the friends theme. From what I can see, Nova doesn't build robots, she plays videogames.
  11. Would love to know your thoughts. Yes, it's fake, for April Fool's day, but the models are real and can be made using the SPIKE Prime set. SPIKEZobo building instructions. SPIKE Zobo drone building instructions SPIKE Olivia's mission vehicle building instructions
  12. Mindstorms History 13 1998 - Kekoa Proudfoot was one of the pioneers in hacking the LEGO Mindstorms RCX programmable brick. Here are the slides from his talk on October 7, 1998. http://www.mralligator.com/rcx/talk/

  14. Mindstorms History 11 1999 - Lego Mindstorms set 9735, Robotics Discovery Set was also released this year. It includes a blue programmable brick named the Scout, with an integrated IR sensor, two motors, and two touch sensors. You program it by changing settings on the brick, no computer required! This video by Nonsense Wars shows all the models you can make with this set.

My small effort in making sure Mindstorms is remembered. You're more than welcome to post pics, scans and links to this thread. 21. Mindstorms History 06 1998 - The first LEGO Mindstorms ads. In the first ad, the second robot looks like Vernie’s grandfather :D. The second ad did NOT age well. P.S. Would anyone happen to have building instructions for them?
