LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Starkiller base duel with Rey and Kylo is a retail exclusive, I believe. Not sure though. -
I wonder what it'll be, I'm getting flashbacks to the 2012 set with Captain america, the motorcycle, and the chitarui stuff. I hope chitarui are in it, actually. Would be nice to have a way to army-build them. So do we know anything else about the builds besides what the set names directly tell us? (i.e. hall of armors will be a hall of armors, super quinjet will be a large quinjet, etc.)

Thanks! yeah those don't sound like they were made at minifigure scale -

So the "duel sets" like the yoda vs sideous someone mentioned are actually the "action battle" sets? Dang, i wanted a new mustafar one after that pitiful attempt in that set with the dark green eta starfighter. And do we know anything else about what these "action battles" are? Will they be remotely displayable alongside current sets or will they be like the microfighters where they operate at a different scale? -
Having seen once upon a deadpool, i can tell you that it is about as close to R as you can get, and not very "family friendly". If disney makes the next movies about him PG-13 they are not going to be nearly as successful. I still don't believe lego will put him in a set anytime soon, because you know some parents would go crazy against lego for including him in a set. But, it is a possibility that was made so deadpool could get closer to joining the MCU eventually.
-
I also agree. However, with lego spiderman taking over from marvel superheroes, spiderman sets might be all we get in the time between MCU films. And as much as i would love to see x-men and fantastic four sets, i think they would wait until MCU versions of the characters and we'd still never get deadpool as I don't think disney will commit commercial suicide and bring him down to pg-13. Even though any set with deadpool would sell like crazy.

that could be cool! It would be really interesting if we got one duel from each trilogy. Correct me if i'm wrong though, the rey vs kylo set is NOT one of the sets mentioned as a duel right? -
I CANNOT stop laughing about this. The stupidity of the set with the robo-thanos, giant infinity gautlet and other random builds, eye-patch thor, "dead" characters in it, literally everything here is a huge red flag. And then the news jumped on this like it was the key to endgame. i actually first saw this through comicbook.com and movieweb, and i thought it was a joke post by those webpages. This is hilarious!

"large vehicle UCS sets usually have one minifigure" is what i should have said. Most location sets have larger numbers. i was thinking b-wing, x-wing, tie fighter, jedi starfighter, bb-8, porg, etc. The way lego seems to be going is including a ucs set with one-two minifigures in may, (snowspeeder, y-wing) and a "master builder" one with more minifigures in September, such as bespin. but good point, i should have been more specific. -

True, but lego usually only has one minifigure in their ucs sets, with the more minifigure-heavy ones being in the master builder series or whatever they call what bespin and assault on hoth are now. i don't see bail being the figure they would put in the set. If they do include one figure, it would be captain Antilles i think. -

AAAH! I knew it looked familiar!!! That makes so much sense! The problem is, what set would he be in, since none of the currently known ones we would fit him. A May the fourth polybag, maybe, but those haven't been minifigures in a while. -

Dang. That's understandable though. I just hope we get SOMETHING eventually, because i could easily see them deciding that the core audience of the show wont be the same as their main customer base, as it's supposed to be a tv-14 and darker then the movies. -
As for the freckled one, i think it is pepper or maybe an early ginny. Depending on wether rescue will be in open combat in the film, I think she needs an angry face. I could actually see Anna in it as well. I have no idea for the bearded one, just doesn't look like anyone we know of. I think (hope?) the third is MJ

I think i could tell the difference between Boba's and Jango's versions of Slave 1 when I was like 9, and so could most kids who got sets that expensive (in my experience). However, the real factor here is Boba being more popular than Jango overall. A new Jango's slave one would be nice, but it might not be financially a good decision for lego. Any rumors of us ever getting anything on the mandelorian, or is it too early for that? -
Oh, that makes much more sense. The armored adventures one is what I assumed Rescue would resemble before the dark blue-looking selfie. I don't know if I'm able to post the image, so I'll err on the side of caution and not, but it sure seems to be purple/gold to me. It's like that blue/black/white/gold dress from a few years ago but avengers four edition!
-
I agree that it's a mix between the two, but i'm leaning more towards purple. The selfie could definitely go either way, but the action figure is almost certainly purple. i would rather have a purple suit though, so that might be clouding my judgement. In term of comics accuracy might not happen as the suit is red and silver or pink and silver in the comics.

I get your point. I have no idea why they would use the Jyn face, even if they somehow cant print Padme's old face or make a new one they should still be able to use a more accurate one like some of Hermione's faces or even Leia. -

Personally i'm hoping for Finch Dallow in the advent calendar and the return of actual santa figures unlike the last few years. A Santa Kylo Ren would be great! -

The ucs typically releases in early may, right? Would it still be under the 20th anniversary label? I mean, all the anniversary sets should release on may fourth but they want them to coincide with star wars celebration Chicago and i'm not going to complain about them arriving a few weeks earlier! -

My sentiments exactly. I feel like (exclusive vader aside) this is a sort of oversized battle pack where the absence of named characters and various small builds makes it easy to buy multiple copies for a large battle. Actually, downsize the AT-RT from it's basically ucs scale to one more like the one in that 2016 juggernaut and if it didn't have the 20th anniversary vader it could fit into that $15 range and BE a battle pack.
