Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm agreeing with you. I thought it was funny. I get the general idea for it (it's in the 50s now so it's a 50s style adventure film with aliens), but I still hate it for the universe. Indiana Jones was never science fiction. It'd be like if Master Chief showed up to the final battle in return of the king. -

It's not garbage, but I'd say it's definately the worst of the 4. Obviously that's all subjective, but I'd argue even though Temple of Doom is the weakest of the 3 OG films, it's still significantly better than Crystal Skull. Lol, gottem. -

Very, very nice. Rex's especially is tempting to me (just because I prefer p2, cody's helmet is also well-designed) Yes, because these helmet designs come from the clone wars animated series. Were you expecting them to base the helmets on celebration art or someone's fan render? -
40580 Buildable Tahu: Bionicle returns in 2023!
Mandalorianknight replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Welp, I gotta get it off bricklink now. This is really disappointing to me. They finally make a great bionicle tribute set that people largely seem to like, and bam, you can only get it if you spend $100 on specific things. What really gets me is a G1 tribute is going to primarily attract adults... and the 7 themes chosen appeal almost solely to children. Note the lack of other unlicensed themes like icons. -

No, dude, we do know for sure that they destroy molds after a certain time with no usage. Now what that time is is unknown, but it is a fact that the lego group destroys molds after a certain period of them not being used in sets. They have stated this multiple times. Wait, what? Really? That's hilarious. -

Counterpoint: Goat. Was that ever an actual reliable source or just people speculating since it's another semi-iconic imperial helmet? -
Eurobricks is different than more modern social media. Since it's a forum, people generally aren't going to make a post just to say "cool" or "good", meaning there's a lot less comments here than on other sites. Yeah, I meant the strings and band, as well as the bars being bent. Nothing against it, just personally not my thing. It is really cool to see it actually function like an actual ballista.

I don't think anyone's arguing that they're literally unable to recreate the mold, rather that if the mold is destroyed there's not really an additional cost to upgrading it. -
Very nice. I don't usually like non-purist lego mocs, but I love that this functions like an actual ballista.

Lord of the Rings Ongoing Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Momotof's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I'd love Meduseld, but being realisitic, there are many better options. Minas Tirith, Bag End, Rivendell, Barad-Dur, Orthanac (again), etc. LOTR has no shortage of iconic locations and unfortunately I don't think Meduseld is high enough on that list to be the one chosen for the one-off flagship set (or, hopefully, the one that heralds in a new line of sets) -

We do actually know for a fact that the molds are destroyed after a certain time without being used. This has been stated in many designer interviews, books, etc. Now I don't believe we know the exact timeframe (probably because there isn't one), but we do know from the designer interview about the new bionicle set (or rather, what the LAN members there can tell us about that interview) that the bionicle molds have been destroyed to the extent that they couldn't even make a CCBS tahu. Since literally all molds used for bionicle G2 (the CCBS one) were created or at least in use in 2015, 2 years after the last Jabba fig, I think it's safe to assume that the Jabba molds were destroyed. My guess is the more specific a mold is, the faster it's destroyed after being retired. (Honestly at this point I'd say any of the KoR helmet molds are close to being destroyed, if they haven't already been) Now, they could bring it back so long as they have the 3-D part files, but if they're going to the trouble of making a new physical mold, my guess is they'd update the Jabba fig. -
DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
We haven't really seen much marketing for either of them, but the one trailer for flash definately teased Batman(s) and the wider multiverse pretty hard. That's 100% where the hype was coming from, I don't know anyone who was really hyped for an Ezra Miller flash solo even before he became the IRL reverse flash. It was Keatonman and the idea that this was going to affect the DC universe that was getting everyone hyped. Aquaman's had, like, part of a trailer and that's it. There's no marketing to judge. But just by the merits of the film almost certainly not being meant as the final aquaman film, it is a bit of a damper. We're following the guy's adventure knowing his story won't have a conclusion. I can definately see why that might turn some people off from the film. -

This is something I was just thinking about. The only trilogy in the MCU that actually acts as a working trilogy without other films is iron man (and even then, there is a bit of a gap between 2 and 3. Though there at least it's easier to get "ok, he joined that avengers initiative from the second movie but something happened there that gave him anxiety), the only trilogy that actually ends in a way that could end the character's story (I suppose the spider-man trilogy does that too, but there are much bigger chunks missing between 1 and 2 and 2 and 3). Yup. Both can be true here. Everyone's dogpiling @Legoman123, but if the films are already existing as part of a universe, it makes sense to not care as much when the universe isn't going anywhere. Quantumania would lose some of it's appeal if they announced that they cancelled Kang Dynasty. -

I mean, a little, but altering the CAD model is pretty cheap compared to the mold itself. They definately could use the same, I'm just saying it wouldn't cost much at all to update it. I'm well aware that this is an unpopular opinion, but this might be the first helmet I buy. I dunno, I just always liked the endor helmet. -

Godfather was so bad, you know from the start that Micheal Corleone will be dead within 120 years. Look it's easy to meme on the statement but I get what you're trying to say. It does feel weird for them to release films for a connected universe when we know that universe isn't actually gonna go anywhere. -

Remember me as a loyal acolyte of the one true Morbius. Not encouraging them, sure. I personally think the video's kinda pointless. But at the same time, "keeping people in check" has some pretty messed up implications. I don't feel the immense urge to fix the infinity saga packaging. You're thinking of... OCD, maybe? Don't get me wrong. It's not about the video itself (which is kinda my wider point as you'll see.). I like Ashnflash but I think there's not really a point to the video. It's a mistake, sure, I just don't think it warrants a video. But he's not hurting anyone. If he wants to spend his own time making a video about something we see as minor, who cares? Nah, man, you can't "keep people in check" on the internet. You don't get to decide what people say online. That's kinda the point. I'm sure I came off pretty confrontational, but this is one of my hills to die on. Anyway to try and get slightly back on topic, do we know ANYTHING about the quantumania set's contents? I think we just know price, and maybe piece count. It'd be nice to at least know what the name is. -

Yes, I definately agree that we should start policing what people say on the internet if we don't like their opinions. Nothing could go wrong. China does it, and look how free they are over there. I mean, they do this all the time. Empire logo on gunship box, I remember an old lego magazine said Minecraft Steve and Minecraft Alex were dating and they literally had to issue a correction, probably a lot more too. But when it comes down to it it's not the product itself, just ancillary material, and it's not a big deal. -

I'm no Gunn fan (I did NOT like TSS or Peacemaker), but I've got nothing against Kraglin as a side character. He's decently funny. Ego's understandable because they tried to hide that he was the villain, but now that we're doing infinity saga sets, he should definately be in one. Just like the idea of multiple system sets a year for DC -
Thanks, those are my favorites too! Here's my (slightly updated) planned schedule for 1hy 2023: Late January: The Brick Knight returns wave 2 Early February: Rogue One wave DLC: Hammerhead corvette diorama, The Legend of the Bionicle sets (Sets for Takanuva and the rest of the Toa Mata in the style of the 2023 GWP.) Late February/early March: Megatron! A companion to the Optimus Prime set that should be able to transform into the iconic walther p38. (Side note: The fact that megatron's G1 transformation was... a pistol-sized pistol... it's just the funniest thing to me. Like, the leader of the villains needs to be held and fired by his second-in-command when he transforms. I love it.) Late March-Early May: I'm not sure. I'm thinking either a bad batch wave or an "icons" wave featuring the sigils of each franchise and some of their iconic vehicles. Summer 2023: YOUR Wishlist MOC Wave 3.

Thanks. By brick-built, you mean a printed/stickered 1x2x5 like the mando and BOBF ones, or actually a brick-built design for han himself? Where are you seeing this? (Just since re-producing an existing fig with no new prints is so easy to fake) -

Can confirm. This guy's dad works at nintendo. Honestly right now I don't care about the guardians sets as much, since I feel like with 3 sets we can safely assume the main team + warlock and evolutionary. I just want to know what the quantumania set is.
