DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Their DC liaison is just some guy who went to the dentist when batman 1989 was on in the lobby once. "A plane? No, batman drives cars, doesn't he? I know I saw him drive a car in a movie once." To be fair, I think most of these batmen murder people in the movies. Even the Pattmobile delivered a hit to penguin's vehicle that could easily have killed penguin. This cracks me up. Batwing has this cowl with blue eyes, so they created a new recolor to make Batfleck LESS accurate. -

I'm taking this as confirmation of my theory that it's a hastily modified keaton batwing set. The designers planned on putting a batwing in the legendary bat-vehicle collection, designed it, and then some exec said "can we get a logo instead"? Heartbroken, the designer didn't want to make an entirely new set, so he quickly slapdashed greebles onto it, removed the cockpit and engines, and threw in a Gold Batman figure. But seriously, how simple would it have been for them to just copy the star wars and marvel logo styles? Smooth version of this black shape with a yellow oval background. Keep Goldbat on a plaque, or do the marvel function of having him and 4 other characters pop out. -

Hopefully that info is coming soon. Three- you're forgetting that one of the batmans is Bruce Wayne's iconic nemesis, Gold Batman. If the Bugle includes Venomized JJJ, immediate best year of the theme. -

I have been Oscorp's strongest warrior for years now (Obligatory Kaine, Daredevil, Moon Knight, Luna Snow reference for the algorithm), and it really does seem like the stage is set. There has never been a better chance than now for it to receive it's modular. Of course, this does come at DC's expense, but a follow up so soon after Arkham was already unlikely. My guess would be a modular cave- likely one with the ability to hold some batmobiles- has a rough model made and if Arkham does well we'll see it in 2027. We appear to have a new shoulder armor mold for Batfleck, somehow. Yup, $80. Though I'll say I think even if it was reasonably priced it's a bad set. It needed a yellow oval to stand out more, and the greebles make it really ugly. -

This is unironically probably going to be the 2027 lineup- well, not exactly, since we just had a tumbler and kilmer mobile. My guess would be: Batman Returns Batmobile: Micheal Keaton batman, now with fabric cape Classic TV series Batmobile: Adam West batman with a horribly mangled print attempt on the current helmet mold Justice League Unlimited Batmobile: this is dark blue and our difference-in-color-one. Comes with JLU Batman. I have completely the same thoughts on all four sets, except I would probably have preferred Riddler to Gordon just because it's a cool design. The box art is intentional and actually speaks to a concerning trend- DC sets at this point are more or less exclusively aimed at adult collectors. We know the designers prefer marvel, but I can't imagine they're actively this stupid and unresponsive to feedback. This has to be some sort of decision from higher-ups from some form of market research. This goes extremely hard and I just wanted to make sure that was pointed out. -

Oh man, oh man, the logo is $80. That's perfect, that's the perfect cherry on top. I legitimately thought it was $60. $80 is amazing. The Marvel Logo has a better PPP AND 5 minifigures, 4 of which were exclusive. This one has a worse PPP and 2 minifigs, one of which is exclusive. Like to put this into perspective, the marvel logo- the one with disney licensing- is $20 more expensive for 253 more pieces and 3 more exclusive minifigures. And it's not like the bat symbol isn't chock-full of tiny greeble pieces. The star wars one- again with disney licensing- doesn't have those two figures and is only a few more pieces... for $20 less. The batman logo being hilariously bad value is perfect. This might actually beat out the black panther bust and hulkbuster, because at least Ransom Fern showed that the parts within the set could be used to make something that looks worth the cost. I don't think there's anything he could do for this thing. -

That's what had initially leaked- I agree on both of these, though the GR set including a villain instead of spidey would be nice. I could see most of these, but with a few caveats: I don't think we'd get Peter, Spider-Man, AND an Iron Spider meant to be Peter. I would also be surprised if this theme had to kitbash a comic based lizard. My guess would be: JJJ, Peter Parker, Miles (No hoodie/jacket), Spider-man, Venom, Doc Ock, a new/long-off-shelves villain such as scorpion (who will be used in a potential Oscorp later this year), and a new/long-off-shelves spider character. The apartment had Hobgoblin, Oscorp had a new goblin and Kraven, I'd be surprised if the bugle didn't get us someone like Scorpion or Electro. Essentially, yes. They also do a hilarious thing where DD stops being daredevil because he almost kills a guy by dropping him off a roof, but the second he's back to daredevil he's trying to strangle and garrotte people and makes multiple attempts to kill muse, and the show never acknowledges the fact that he's immediately back to homicidal rage. His default does, yes, but he's got a couple clean-shaven ones as well. I thought the joke was that he was just the legitimate head of a foreign nation (with the more normal looking suit and just going by Harvey whatever), which I thought was funny. I don't remember him vlogging or anything. It is sad that they can't get surfer right. A new part to use for characters like him and Osborn would be nice, but I'm not expecting it. I'd be OK with the finn hair in brown or the widow's peak hair, especially if they give him a solid head and not the stupid angry clone one. -

Thank you! I feel like people aren't realizing how truly awful this set is. The logos in general are dumb sets, but they couldn't even bother to make this one look clean. It's a greebled monochromatic blob that's inexplicably a different style than the other logos. It looks horrendous, in no way serves as a shelf signifier with the other two- the lack of a yellow background and being on an angled stand make this seem like some batwing drone. And of course the figures sum up the state of this theme by just being two versions of Batman. This is actually one of only two movie batmen scenes in which the eye-cover helmet works. I still can't believe the designers haven't figured out a way to make the batman cowl work with normal minifigure heads such that the eyes are visible underneath, especially since all we do are movie batmen nowadays. The cape being black is hilarious, I hadn't noticed that. Lego DC doesn't even have the budget to buy fabric in another color. "We can't do thunderbolts, the color scheme isn't as exciting!" Releases a full wave of sets exclusively featuring black and DBG parts Don't forget trying to see how much they can get people to pay for different colors of clone troopers. At least with these, the BVS batmobile is pretty significantly different from the other two. -

My thoughts: Pattmobile: Yeah, the car is speed-champions level good. Not going to pick it up, but it's very well-done. Soupless gunmobile: This might be the first DC set I buy since the 2021 tumbler. Another speed-champions quality build. Binless manbinmobile: In my opinion this one had the worst source material to work with, but man, it still looks the worst to me. The wings are really clunky, and I assume the lack of a windscreen is accurate but man the open-air cabin is stupid looking. I can't imagine what kid looks at the three cars on offer and chooses this one, and given B&R's reputation and the fact that it doesn't even have robin or the freezinator, I can't imagine this sells well with ANY demographic. Logo: Worst one here, just because the logo should have been an easy aesthetic layup. The greebling, as expected, looks awful. At least the SW and Marvel logos looked clean and professional, this just looks ugly. I think yellow backing was also necessary to help it stand out- between the greebling and the fact that unlike the other logos they've put it angled on a stand, this just looks like a weird batwing drone. Even the golden Man is worse than it should have been- it also should have had the type 2 cowl, but both that and the type 3 cowl have seemingly retired in favor of the dual-molded one. Overall, good car builds, but a terrible time for the theme. At this point Man deserves to celebrate alone, in his cave, with a gold statue of himself, some cars, a big black blob of greebles, and no friends. If the DC theme thinks this is in any way a good move, they deserve their fate. I look forward to Clooney Batman's set hitting $15 within a year of release. -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It was by far the best 18+ gimmick subline. Midi-scale's not bad either, but for the price they're charging, please, just throw a single minifigure of the pilot/captain/admiral in there... I'm on... let's see... TCW08, I think. Not covering any of the siege of mandalore, since I already wrote it's own wave for the "movie". BARC Speeder with sidecar ($9.99): More accurately sized than the massive 2024 version. Comes with Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano (S3-5 outfit, goggle print on head-tails) Republic Gunship Microfighter ($12.99): Captain Rex (Phase 1) Cad Bane mech ($14.99): Has a brick-built cowboy hat and the hands are built in such a way that you can spin the blasters they're holding on frictionless 2l pins. The Clone Wars Battlegrounds ($19.99): Scuba Trooper, ARC trooper (Hammer), ARF trooper, and Flame Trooper. Comes with a propulsion vehicle for the scuba trooper, as well as a command post. Gorr Battle ($29.99): Large buildable Gor with Kit Fisto, Commander Fil, and General Grievous Falchion Assault tank ($44.99): Falchion tank and crab droid. Comes with Mace Windu, Goji, commander ponds, a 91st trooper, and 2x b1 battle droid. Tri-Droid Takedown ($69.99): Separatist tri-droid with Commander Cody (Phase 1), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Phase 1), 1x p1 clone trooper (punching a droid on the box), Whorm Loathsome, 2x b1 battle droid, and a buildable retail droid. Republic Y-wing starfighter vs vulture droid ($109.99): Matchstick, Broadside, R2-D2, Ahsoka, Admiral Trench, and 2x magnaguard Republic Transport shuttle ($139.99): Comes with Anakin Skywalker, Fives, Tup, Commander Doom, 2x Doom Trooper, and 2x B2 Jet droids. UCS: AT-RT and BARC Speeder ($239.99): 501st AT-RT and BARC speeder with buildable phase 2 501st clone troopers. Comes with Kix and Jesse (Phase 2 armor). I'm going to start throwing in a helmet, diorama, and midi-scale for each wave: Helmet: Clone Trooper ($69.99): Includes parts to swap out for a Phase One Shiny, 501st trooper, 212th trooper, or 41st trooper. Diorama: Ahsoka Leaves ($79.99): Jedi Temple steps with Ahsoka and Anakin. Quote is "I'm sorry master, but I'm not coming back." Midi-scale: The Malevolence ($89.99): Largest midi-scale yet. Comes with a General Grievous figure. -

Wish granted. It no longer has dual-molded legs and instead is a reprint of the 2021/22 figure but with the newest cowl type. -
LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Mandalorianknight replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The smart brick X-wing and pikachu image is being removed. This is very, very rare for lego. And people have tested cropping the image so pikachu isn't visible- it still gets claimed, which likely rules out the theory that it's the pokemon team claiming the images. Lego must really be trying to keep this smart brick stuff under wraps- which is smart, because the sets look awful. It's going to be hard enough marketing them with your best promotional photography and digital touch-ups, much less if people have already seen them in less flattering lighting/setup. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Sure- the one deadpool comic I actually thought was excellent as opposed to "kind of funny I guess" was when he runs into a suicidal woman, knows he can't help her mental state, and proceeds to confuse her and be comedic until he's able to get her to people who actually can help. To be fair to lego Kingpin and Bullseye is just generally unrealistic for a Daily Bugle system set. They're more likely in a modular or if there was ever a daredevil-related system set. My guess is, assuming we don't want it to overlap too much with Oscorp or the apartment, it'll be (let's say 8 characters again): JJJ, Peter Parker, Miles (the version without the hoodie), Venom, Doc Ock, a new/long-off-shelves villain such as scorpion (who will be used in a potential Oscorp later this year), and then probably spider-man but ideally a new variant of another marvel hero. Scorpion would be a good option, and if Oscorp and the apartment are any indication they do want to put at least one desirable character here. Oh, yeah, no, it has absolutely nothing to do with the comic Born Again storyline. The name is actually really ironic because the most that show actually involves his religion is -and I kid you not- Matt walking past a church in one episode, and then his girlfriend scoffing at him about praying in another. (Where he acts sheepish about it too instead of pushing back). Obviously both versions are too grounded for something like the Nuke fight (Which I always felt was unnecessary in the story anyway), but the show doesn't even make an attempt to pay homage to either the storyline or what it represented. It's here because it'll make some of the comic fans point and clap and because the show involves him quitting and then becoming daredevil again. Rivals did some serious heavy lifting- assumably at marvel studios's direction- to promote the movie, giving us four new skins and a new ability (Human Torch players could throw Thing players at the enemy team)- but it just wasn't enough. It also illustrates how Rivals is more accurate- even wearing the movie suits, Reed and Sue still look like Reed and Sue, and Thing's still shouting "CLOBBERING TIME!" in a gravelly voice and with a huge frame as he throws down with Hulk rather than just being some guy. They pre-empted the controversy by having the actor make some statements that made it sound like Johnny was going to be more of, well, a pedro pascal type (which seems a bit more concerning now) than a flirtatious guy, but it didn't actually hold true for the movie. The clobbering time thing did annoy me too- it's weird that in this universe nobody's offput by Ben's appearance, but he feels even more reserved and downtrodden at times. I liked the movie more when it first came out, but the more I think about it it really wasn't a good adaption of the characters. I think I was expecting it to be a lot worse than it was, and because it wasn't awful I came out thinking it was better than it was. Sue wasn't actively putting down Reed or Ben like I expected, so I didn't notice as much that she sort of takes center stage from reed. The characters aren't actively the opposite of their personalities like I expected, so I didn't notice at first that honestly all of them are pretty morose throughout. Mole Man I personally thought was hilarious, but I've never liked the character so that factors in, sort of like how while I like surfer I've never been a huge fan of him so while I can recognize the issue of it just being someone else in this movie, it didn't bother me as much. Yup, exactly, it would be having them go off on their own to feature in their own movies or shows. But I will have to figure out a way to do a Jared Leto Morbius joke or cameo. I would just do it as a 616 doom, but yeah the idea that Tony is MCU 616's doom variant is just awful enough to be something marvel would realistically do in doomsday. Finn's hair in reddish brown could work, but that's the only existing one I can think of. There aren't any hairpieces that come to a point like Sandman's classic look, but I also don't really want him to have a piece that comes to a point like that, I don't think it would good on a minifigure. -

I've been eyeing it at my walmart, but while the $50 value seems there, since I don't collect many action figures and would probably just give Sentry to my brother, I'm waiting to see if they put them on clearance. The concept of gold batman is pretty cool, the issue is just that we're now only getting batman. Ideally gold batman would be in a Justice League set or something, not alongside... another batman and batman's chest symbol. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Lego seems determined to learn the worst possible lesson from everything, but at this point, down to just batman and batmobiles, the only option left is "DC just doesn't sell, scrap the theme" I don't know. Without context, I could see it being better for collectors (but much worse for kids), but in the context of this being all we're getting, I think moving from 2 characters to literally one character is pretty concerning. Yup, the $48 batmobile would have been called "flash tracking" and included Miller Flash and potentially supergirl. Too bad Ezra decided to treat the Hawaiian penal code as a checklist. Because of that, I really hope they will be. I want lego getting hundreds of calls from confused parents of upset 6 year olds. This is a good point, lego will never show this in their little animations they do, but batman brooding in his cave with a statue of himself along for his birthday is very on-brand. I'm still mad about that. Lego forced my hand into buying a Funko Pop of all things just so I could get some John Walker merch. -

Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I didn't know she was set to die in Vol 2, that's interesting. That wouldn't surprise me. Kids certainly shouldn't be watching it, even for adults it's incredibly dour compared to most marvel stuff, even the netflix show (that's what you get for no Foggy), and for Daredevil fans it's nothing like his netflix interpretation. It's accurate to a specific run of the comics, but one I think a lot of people consider one of daredevil's worst. (I think it was around 2003? The Devil's Reign arc hasn't really happened in the show yet and Muse had like two minutes of screen time). Yeah, exactly. Though apparently the game's pretty gender-neutral in that regard too. (I don't really go for that kind of skin either way, I normally run around as moon knight or trenchcoat Thing but even when I play Sue I use the Bloodstorm ranked reward and not... the more popular skins for that character.) I've heard that too, but I still don't like it. I know people have talked about wanting more, but however you do it, I think Steve's journey ended in endgame. Johnny was a standout in the movie. The actor said something about "modernizing" the character which had me worried, but he's the same Johnny- like you say, he's arguably closer to classic versions. Thing's voice was a bit offputting at first, I still don't like it but I got used to it, and the actor does a good job overall. Sue was probably the standout for the movie. Reed was the one that really hit for me, I think Pedro Pascal just doesn't fit his demeanor. I can sort of see what he was going for with trying to appear cold at times, but he always looks like he's holding back an emotional moment. Silver Surfer here was fine for what they did as an alt-universe one and for what they wanted to do with Johnny, but it definitely wasn't Norrin and therefore not great. Galactus looked good but had no substance. Oh they wouldn't be retired, it's just like the first two avengers movies where they all split up at the end. They'd be back- it was just setting up solo films for those characters in the case of Magik and GR, or in Elsa's case the post-credits of her bringing WBN and Man-thing onto the team. I also should clarify by new-to-the-universe I mean we're introducing the characters, but this is their home universe. Sort of like how Black Widow and Hawkeye don't get origin stories onscreen when they're introduced, we're just meant to assume they've been around. In this case, young heroes Strange has been keeping an eye on. No multiverse stuff- this also why I didn't include Doom (Plus, poor Wanda's been through enough, I don't want to make her deal with Doom trying to marry her.) With the characters, the roster size is definitely fairly large, and why I kept Blade out of this one (partly because I think it's hilarious to have him be late one last time before being properly introduced in his own movie, and partly because he's a bit high-caliber and experienced for how sort of haphazard this team would be in my movie). But it's pretty similar to AoU, aside from not killing quicksilver- AoU had the OG 6, SW, Quicksilver, and in the final act Vision. The sons have a slightly smaller number with the 3 knights (MK/DD/Punisher), 3 supernatural/magic hunters (Magik/GR/Elsa), and then Strange as the leader, plus Wanda in the third act. I do like the idea of doom being involved in a battle with mephisto, that could be a fun element for the sequel, then maybe Blood Hunt/Eternal Night Falls for the third, with Dormammu backing it for some reason to up the stakes. I will have to find a way to incorporate Leto's Morbius in some small cameo/joke capacity I mean, he can, you can make it so he knows he's in a PG-13 movie or to be less meta that if it's like a spider-man team up he's censoring himself to protect spidey's ears. Though I don't know if his humor's all that similar to star-lord. I would like to get some more information on the january wave soon, I'm pretty happy with at least half the set choices, but the figures could really make or break some of them. GR's bike is an instant win even with just him, but including a new Spidey or any villain would take it from excellent to perfect. The Sandman set will primarily be about how good the Sandman is and whether or not it can differentiate itself from the MCU one, but a new spidey suit/variant and a sandman with an actual good face and hair instead of "angry clone+ generic hair" would probably shift a lot of opinions. The Bugle will entirely come down to the figures for a lot of people, especially those who have the modular. -
Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Mandalorianknight replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yup. You outline pretty well why Loki works where Steve or Tony would fail. There are some very specific circumstances, including his story being unfinished and him being the character known for cheating death one way or another. As for Gamora, I'll maintain the one and only reason she worked is that the entire point of her being in the movie was that she wasn't our Gamora, that she was a different person with her own hopes and dreams, not a replacement for the Gamora we lost. That it's not the Gamora Peter Quill loved or the guardians were friends with. Fair- Star-Lord/The Guardians and Loki still have audience goodwill. I don't know that Loki's big enough to headline movies, at least as your standard superhero protagonist- he's more of a nick fury role or something more esoteric like his own show. As for the guardians, I don't think there's been any rumors that they'll even show up, the most we've seen is a very earth-based star lord in some concept art that seems to be for Secret Wars. Agreed on the Thunderbolts being the only solid full team left. (Though I'll say that even if you didn't like Yelena in the first one, I assume she'd be better in the second one. The point of the movie was for her to get over that sort of wallowing in self pity by helping others, either on the micro level with Bob or the macro level with the new york civilians.) Yeah, I think in the general public wanda and vision are the couple now. Yup- exactly. Disney didn't even think it was going to be a direct continuation until they realized how much backlash there was going to be. (Though I don't think saying it's the same characters and then having them all act wildly different anyway really fixes anything. Honestly, I see Born Again as doing the same thing as Doomsday- digging up beloved performances but without any of the soul behind them) She-hulk definitely used to toe that line, she was essentially the pre-deadpool deadpool. But yeah- I agree, I don't think we're getting that type of costume anymore in media (aside from rivals, whether you want to ascribe that to different cultural or HR norms or just marvel realizing that sort of thing apparently sells well- I don't think I've gone two games in over a month without running into a Punisher, Mantis, or Invisible Woman in a swimsuit), and correspondingly I don't think it's going to happen in lego. That may honestly be worse. "Surprise, Steve's young again, we just entirely gave up and the captain america you guys actually liked is back, please come give us money again" I think Kang Dynasty was originally planned for this year, but there still wouldn't have been ANY setup for the team- arguably even less. I didn't mind the new FF, but I really couldn't get into Pedro as Reed. The other three did fine. I'm sure they could, but (in this hypothetical scenario where Kevin Feige somehow grants me the keys to the kingdom) I'd let someone else take the reigns for the new era. I've had my Midnight Sons movie concept ironed out for some time now, basically it would revolve around chaos magic having started to corrupt New York and it's underground after Wanda died, leaving no conduit for all that energy. Strange figures out the source of the power is the entity Cython, and puts together a team of people experienced with magic, demons, and gods (a now much more comic-accurate Moon Knight, Elsa Bloodstone, and new-to-the-universe Magik and Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch)). He finds Daredevil and Punisher fighting some Chaos-afflicted criminals, and sees their immense willpower and battles with their own demons, and so recruits them as well. There's a lot of stuff in between but they end up having Strange, Daredevil (for his truth sense), and Ghost Rider (experience with demons) bargain with Mephisto for Wanda's soul as the other four fight a horde of mindless ones in the Dark Dimension. (They were only able to get to hell through the Dark Dimension and need to leave an exit portal open). Upon returning to life, Wanda and the rest of the midnight sons have your third act battle against Cython in New York, with Wanda essentially asserts control over it. Afterwards Magik, Elsa, and Ghost Rider go back to their domains, MK/Punisher/Daredevil stay to help strange clean the streets, and Wanda becomes Strange's apprentice/partner. There'd be a few post credits including Dormammu taking over Mephisto's Hell, Elsa returning to the Bloodstone manor and saying hi to Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing, and Blade entering the Sanctum saying something about how he's sorry he couldn't make it, he was busy fighting vampires, but after "what feels like forever", he's finally ready to show New York his bite. I wouldn't want to get into the full plot or themes because I'll take up the entire page, but some of the themes include Strange thinking he failed Wanda and trying to redeem himself, Wanda obviously trying to redeem herself, some of the more edgy/loner style sons like MK and Punisher grappling with the fact that they kind of enjoy being on a team, etc. Especially since the batmobiles are march but I believe the marvel wave is january. We're only three months out. -

Good mockup, but unfortunately 1000% better than what lego will actually make. The biggest issue is, as you say, scale. The gargantuan scale is the only reason that the TLBM logo being greeble works, in my opinion. Scaled down to $80, for a licensed theme, in 2026... it's gonna be rough. (And unfortunately even with the figs- I'd be shocked if we got a chrome gold batman, it'll most likely be pearl gold. Frankly I'm surprised we're even getting a gold cape and gold recolored helmet.) The gold batman in the logo clearly implies this is meant to be some sort of anniversary or celebration, but it feels so tone-deaf for what a sorry state the theme's in. 20 years of lego batman is right- it's just sad he lost all his friends- and now even his foes- along the way. -
All good concepts, but I'm still surprised lego hasn't already done these last two. Infinity Ultron is one of the most requested designs I see whenever ultron comes up in anything, and Herald/Fortnite Thor's appeared in a lot of media and been pretty popular for almost a decade now. All good sets. I'm hoping that whether or not it's in the movie, we get a comic based Punisher's Van set down the line. All excellent and needed sets, I wanted to make a point of including these as IIRC the first one was even intentional, too, right? And the golf cart being a 1:1 remake without any updates whatsoever is the perfect way to include it. A marvel wave I've been thinking about that I tried to make semi-realistic: Lizard Attack ($9.99): A buildable Lizard. Comes with Spider Man (generic suit) and Miles Morales Moonmobile Chase ($34.99): Moon Knight’s stolen car with Moon Knight, Spider-Man, and Mister Negative Kraven's Spider Hunt ($54.99): A hunting jeep that can be split in half and some central park side builds. Comes with Kraven the Hunter, a Kraven henchman, Spider-Man (symbiote suit with large tendril accessories to have him split the van in half), Tigra, and Beetle Shocker's Bank Heist ($84.99): Bank (both vault and main floor area) and side building (Fogwell's Gym) with Spider-Man, Shocker, a Bank Teller, Bank Guard, Kingpin, Daredevil (A new dark red suit with a grimacing face with stubble), and Venom. Fits into the new mini-modular system Marvel Knights: ($349.99): Large Marvel GWP with three buildings- a central warehouse with Punisher's armory setup inside, a building on one side with the Midnight Mission and Nelson and Murdock, and a building on the other side with The Bar with No Name and an abandoned upper floor that serves as a mob boss meeting room. Also includes Punisher's battle van with a removable top turret, as well as Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher (Bulletproof vest), Electra, Mr. Knight, Tigra, Dagger, Cloak (just a head/cape/hood on a clear stand), Kingpin, Mr. Negative, Tombstone, Taskmaster, Beetle, Bullseye, 8-Ball, Shocker, Stained Glass Scarlet, Melvin Potter, Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page, Reese, Soldier, Vanessa Fisk, James Wesley, and Micro. GWP: Mooncopter: Mooncopter with Frenchie (re-used parts), Moon Knight (Classic version with the same head but a new torso), and the Werewolf by Night (new torso and head prints)

Assumably the armored version, it'll add a little bit of visual distinction in what's going to be a wave of extremely similar minifigures. Could it? I just don't see it. It's not big enough to be something like the build for TLBM, a greebled lego batman logo isn't Nah, Tactical Batman all the way. This is a batman who fell and was redeemed, and a batman who's now a warfighter rather than a detective, who fights gods and aliens. The tactical suit is a visual realization of that story. If only he wasn't so expensive. -

Man, this is... how do they even do this? Three batmobiles and the logo was bad enough, but the figures are FIVE CONSECUTIVE BATMEN? There aren't even five different sets? What marketing is telling them that collectors have no interest in other characters and kids have no interest in batman fighting anyone? I think people are sleeping on how awful the logo's going to be, I assumed it would be the black bat in a yellow oval, but just the bat, and "greebled?" What? The one thing going for the SW and Marvel logos was that they looked like fine representations of the logo. I wouldn't personally buy them but for giant collections they'd be a fun signifier. The black, greebled bat logo is just going to look like a weird batwing and get completely lost in the throng of black bat-vehicles that are all the theme gets anymore. Just give up the license at this point lego. -

In the pikachu set's defense (purely from a value scale- it looks awful. The fact that it's extremely simple and blocky and yet they still couldn't make ANY of the face without printed details is absurd. The Kylo Ren's Helmet of nintendo sets), the set is at least "and pokeball", so assumably there's a pokeball build included that fits the pikachu inside, accounting for most of the parts. There's got to be SOME sort of side build with the X-wing, since that's not 584 pieces, but the X-wing is definitely the main build in it's set. Has to be a side build. The footprint thing is an excellent point- this isn't mindstorms, the smart brick is only 2x4x2. Why does it turn the entire set into a juniors build? It's wireless, allegedly, so it's not like they have space for wires running throughout the ship. Yup. This just doesn't give the same "better than the rest" vibe the falcon does. -
I seem to be the only one who posts here, but I'll keep going with more sets: Hand of Heaven Duel ($14.99): small K'un L'un shrine with Angela and Daredevil. Includes clear pieces to put the figures or their weapons posed as if flying or swinging around, as well as spare spears for angela and energy effects for Daredevil's ult. K'un Lun battle ($39.99): shou Lao's turtle shrine convoy point and the angled structure in front of it with a small waterfall shrine side build. Comes with Moon Knight (Lunar General), Scarlet Witch (Immortal Soverign), Mantis (Jade Maiden), and Adam Warlock (Immortal Avatar). Shou Lao's Blessing ($79.99): Large Shou Lao build with Iron Fist (default skin), Daredevil (Shenglong's brigade), and Doom. Tournament of the Eight Cities ($109.99): K'un Lun dojo (The end point of the convoy map) with Shou Lao statues and plenty of turntables, destruction features, and clear pieces to pose characters. Includes a shielded crib for Baby Laussa. Comes with the eight tournament contestants: Daredevil, Iron Fist (Immortal weapon skin), Wolverine (Dogbrother X), Storm (Judicator Xiezhi), Loki (Immortal Firebird), Black Widow (Immortal Weapon skin), Groot (Immortal weapon skin), Angela (Immortal weapon skin), and a baby Laussa figure.

I haven't seen it in person yet, but I think it looks fine... from the exact front. The issue is that for a thousand dollars, for the flagship of the theme, it needs to be more than fine. It needed to be damn near perfect. -

It was good, but I don't know how I felt about the part where he snorted a spice jar from Alfred's kitchen and started monologuing in a voice not his own about the Narrow Way Through and how he can see all possible futures. Totally took me out of the movie. I mean aside from personally seeing plenty of MCU type humor in superman, it's objectively true- Gunn's movies all tend to be the same general tone and style- at least when it comes to the MCU/DCEU/DCU, so with the guardians type humor in Superman, it's quite literally MCU humor. Acting as if that wasn't peak and where the movie should have ended. The plot twist that Riddler doesn't know his emo boyfriend and the rival he's targeting are the same guy is a romeo and juliet level story beat. I hope they get together in Part 2, their chemistry was so much better than Bruce and the Cat Lady. (But actually, the movie should have ended there.)
