  1. I don't mean to shoot you down, I just don't think it's likely. Absolutely, those would be awesome. It'd be nice to get a CMF slot for transformers minifigures, if lego could make that work- it'd let us get all the new molds they'd require. I think my ideal lineup would be, presuming 12 minifigures and no minifig-including sets to overlap with it: Optimus Prime (Molded helmet and armor, comes with 1x1 Matrix of Leadership on 1x1 plate with handles on both sides, as well as builds for his blaster and energon axe) Megatron (New molded arm that includes a connection point for the Fusion Cannon, new molded helmet. Includes a purple lightsaber and blaster for his gun mode) Bumblebee (Molded helmet, comes with blaster and a microfigure of Spike) Starscream (Molded helmet and wing/chestplate piece with ports for Null-Rays on shoulders. Includes Null Rays and a tile with printed "days since last attempt to usurp megatron" counter- it's at 0) Ratchet (Molded helmet, comes with handheld med scanner build and blaster) Soundwave (Molded helmet, brick-built shoulder cannon, blaster, and Laserbeak) Arcee (Molded helmet, comes with blaster, Daniel microfigure) Shockwave (Molded head and gun arm. Comes with a book cover piece representing a compouter readout of Cybertron approaching earth) Elita-1 (Molded helmet, includes blaster and a blast effect for her time powers they forgot after G1) Thundercracker (Same new molds as Starscream, comes with Null Rays and dog) Prowl (Molded helmet, door wings are built and attack to a neck bracket. Comes with blaster and a small buildable Devastator figure) Blitzwing (Molded helmet, molded backpack/chestplate, comes with sword and blaster) Other likely candidates I could see would be BW Megatron and Primal, Skywarp, Devastator, Astrotrain, Bot mode Grimlock, Ironhide, Wheeljack, etc. Unfortunately it's very unlikely- lego nowadays attempts to do a 1:1 ratio of male to female characters in their CMFs, and transformers just doesn't really lend well to that given most characters are male. This would also be a bit heavy on new molds, even for a CMF, since everyone needs at least a helmet and many characters need chestplates. It would be really, really cool to get Ark and Nemesis UCS models. Throw Optimus/Bee/Ratchet/Arcee into the Ark and Megatron/Starscream/Soundwave/Shockwave into the Nemesis. I'm a little surprised we got Soundwave before him, and very surprised we don't have one this year. Recolors are a tricky thing for Lego, but it would be nice to see. Or maybe they throw additional faceplate prints in for Starscream (a famously expressive character, to be fair) and we can PAB or bricklink the recolors ourselves much like how- aside from printed parts- we can make characters like Nemesis, Core Magnus, and Bugbite. I think he's at least Jazz level, but there's still plenty that'd be chosen over him. But if lego wants a form of megatron and refuses to do the true megatron, I could easily see him happening since like you said there's no issues with his alt-mode. Lego doesn't make sets for *modern* wars- ancient warriors and fantasy/sci-fi wars are fine.
  2. I don't actually think they go in a lot of the smaller ones- it looks like you just use the brick to scan the back of their heads? Maybe it attaches and you give all the little pokemon giant, glowing brain tumors. I will say these are by far the best of the smart pokemon builds, owing to the larger size. Though the uncovered bracket studs on Charizard's opponent, unless it's representing some sort of detailing I'm unaware of, feels actively insulting. Lego, would 4 2x2 round tiles really have broken your budget?
  3. Thank you! All look good, picked some of my favorite marvel ones. It's crazy they haven't remade the Hazard Heist Crossbones set yet, it's such a layup for that $30-40 vehicle price point. Is this real? I didn't watch much of the show but I feel like this would fit it being a 90s continuation with how toyetic those were. These are pretty realistic choices. that Vulture Fight set could be really cool if they kept him and his wings in the right colors but the background/base in the full palate. I totally forgot to do season 7 because most of the new costumes were civilian outfits, which aren't interesting. But the White Fox character is awesome- as is the Moon Knight centric Blood Hunt game mode, so here are a couple: Sanctum Sanctorum Heist ($19.99): Small bit of Sanctum Sanctorum interior with the Tablet of Life and Time on a pedestal and a function to launch a character through a portal. Comes with White Fox, a slightly censored Black Cat, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man (Black Suit - his symbiote suit) S.H.I.E.L.D. Convoy Raid ($79.99): Building facade, Jeff statue, and SHIELD APC with the tablet in the back. Comes with Angela (Doom Angel- 1602 outfit), Ultron (Odinforce Skyfather - asgardian outfit), White Fox (Secret Agent - a blue recolor of her default), Bucky Barnes (Starlit Gunslinger - a sci-fi esque western gunsligner outfit), Blade (Starlit Shadow - a sci-fi esque western gunslinger outfit), and Deadpool (Spirit Squad- a blue deadpool wearing an ESU T-shirt. I would add a cowboy hat to the fig in the set as if he's trying to fit in with the other two raiders).
  4. TMAG Wave: I really don't think it should have been a movie, but it certainly had a lot of set potential and it's strange how the official waves are half-empty and full of weirdly scaled models. This wave would replace the official sets, so there's some overlap:
  5. I've been to a good 4-5 stores across multiple states since the last series released, and every time they've been out of Tahu. (Sometimes the Lloyd is also gone, though I've seen him at some locations). It's disappointing seeing him scalped online- is it normally this bad for non-chase figures?
  6. Yeah, these are... these are REALLY rough. The only one that looks OK is cubone IMO. I like Puff just off of Smash Bros, and even with how weird it looks I might have gotten one if that set was $5-10, but with it being 2026, Pokemon branded, AND a "smart" set, my guess is it's $20.
  7. What sucks is going off the first two seasons, they had the capacity for growth. Mando was CLEARLY being set up as a leader between his growing set of allies, his experiences with both the Armorer's neo-crusaders and Bo's more widespread mandalorian traditions, and of course the obtaining of the darksaber. Grogu was off with Luke, set to finally grow and mature. ...and then they undo all of it in TBOBF and Mando S3. Bo gets the darksaber off a technicality again and.... her setup just gets ignored and it's as if we cut from when we saw her in rebels to the final two episodes of Mando S3. Even the name had so much potential for a full-circle character arc. A character we only knew as "The Mandalorian" for most of the first season could have become Mandalore. But they refuse to let him grow. He will never be a leader. He will never let go of Grogu. He will never PAINT HIS ARMOR. Mandalorians and their culture are some of the coolest things star wars has to offer and it's becoming devastating that "mandalorian" will now read to most of the general audience as "oh, yeah, that silver guy that babysits baby yoda"
  8. There certainly is a market for extremely expensive, high-quality third party figures. But there are two reasons I think that wouldn't correlate to a $700+ lego Devy 1. Most of the buyers there spend so much rather than the $200ish for the Studio Series Devastator because they want the Best- the most accurate, the most complicated transformation, etc. Lego Devastator would certainly not be that. 2. A lot of those super-expensive third-party figures also have pretty limited production runs, beyond what lego typically does for even their largest sets. You would end up with a situation where you're grabbing a fraction of a fraction of the sales- specifically people who can drop $700+ on a lego set, $700+ on a transformer, and specifically want a lego transformer. With how incredibly cautious lego is being with this theme- only three sets and three brickheadz- I just can't see it happening. Unicron head as a "helmet" set would be awesome, I'm surprised we haven't already seen an Optimus "helmet". Soundwave not releasing alongside Megatron is surprising, to be sure. I would imagine so long as the first three have done/will do well enough, Soundwave and Starscream are next. Though to be honest, I'm not sure I love the current way lego's handling the theme. The brickheadz are fine, but small and chibi. The Titan-class sized transforming figures are just too big and expensive for me to collect them all. If they made figures where your basic sized transformer was $35ish, I think they could really break into a younger market and get more people to buy characters other than the big 7.
  9. With how controversial Hot Rod/Rodimus is among older G1 fans, who lego seems to be aiming at here, I doubt we'd get him anytime soon. If there was a year for it it'd have been this year, but seemingly nothing, not even a hot rod/galvatron brickheadz 2-pack. Ultra Magnus would be very cool, and is a design that could easily be pulled off (since the transformation is just a bunch of modular bits that attach to an Optimus base), but I think he runs into the same issue of not being iconic enough to sell what would easily be a $300+ set if they wanted to keep it in scale with the rest. Devastator would be awesome, and I think he would do well, but there's a number of issues. 1. To maintain any semblance of scale he'd have to be wildly expensive, beyond what I think most would pay. We're talking dwarfing the Haslab Unicron prices. 2. Voltron only goes from lions to big robot. Devastator goes from robots to vehicles to big robot, and has a more complex transformation than Voltron. Now lego could possible ignore the individual robot modes to make something happen, but I think you lose a lot of the "transformers" aspect of it at that point.
  10. Yeah, I think this shows they're OK doing Tank Megatron so long as the tank looks cartoony (or cybertronian) enough. I would suspect he's on the horizon. I think Megatron, Starscream, and Grimlock are the most likely options for the next few years. Beyond that, I have no idea- that's the "big three" from each main faction. Shockwave is the next most famous, but as with most themes I assume lego will skew on the hero side and want more autobots. I'm sure they want to make some female transformers, but unless they want to make something that looks like Missing Link Arcee, they're going to have trouble doing one that can actually transform. Similarly, they'd have trouble expanding into Bayverse or Beast Wars without losing the transformation ability. At the gargantuan scale they've been doing, I'm not sure that we have more than 3-4 left. Your average Ironhide or Ratchet won't be moving $170 sets. I think lego has the technical ability to do a mainline transformers theme with a $30 bumblebee, $40 optimus, etc, but either they don't have that much confidence in themselves, or they don't think there's enough of an audience for it.
  11. The answer, as always, is target demos. The system sets are still meant mainly for kids, and the UCS sets still mainly for adults. Adults who are spending hundreds of dollars on lego sets can be assumed to have the income to spend more for a bigger one- whereas with kids I think the shrinkflation is a better move than pure inflation if that makes sense. Obviously the best scenario is just finding ways to make supply cheaper without lowering the quality, but that's the hardest to do. I think this summer's Sandcrawler provides a lot of hope, being the most expensive non-D2C I believe the theme has ever received, being slightly larger than the previous one IIRC, and certainly having the value to back up the price compared to most of the past few years' offerings at this size. TCW (non-SoM) wave: Cad Bane's Starfighter Microfighter ($14.99): Cad Bane Commander Cody Mech ($14.99): P1 Commander Cody, includes alternate P2 helmet. Darkness on Umbara battle pack ($19.99): 1x 212th trooper, 1x 501st trooper, 2x Umbaran soldier. Build is an accurately sized AT-RT and one of those umbaran manta ray things. Includes Chancellor Palpatine, Aayla Secura, Yoda, and 2x Riot Control Trooper Ryloth Storm ($119.99): Republic Y-wing, separatist proton cannon (Shoutout to @ArrowBricks since I'm stealing the "y-wing vs proton cannon" idea, one of the best I've heard in this thread), and accurately sized AT-RT with Axe, Kickback, a republic astromech, Mace Windu, an ARF trooper, Cham Syndulla, a Tactical Droid, and 2x b1 battle droid. Republic Counselor Cruiser ($179.99): Cruiser with interior cockpit/bridge, escape pod, Padme's quarters, and troop bay. 12. We can kind of track why we haven't as of yet had an ISD- it started with the midi-scale Executor, then the Venator this january, which both occupy very similar slots. Good list- I'd never considered this one specifically, but it would be pretty cool. No idea. We've had multiple $70ish clone starfighters, we've had Rex, and it's been forever since the last Y-wing. Now I'd prefer we get a rebel one in 2027 for ANH's 50th, but at the end of the day I honestly do think the different eras, color schemes, and figure selections mean you could have both in the same year if, say, you were to put the rebel Y-wing in a 2-pack with the Advanced. I do like his design. I really hope 1 does not happen, the last thing we need are more of these other-scale 18+ sublines. 2 is all I want. If they can do that, everything else will follow. I'll be optimistic and answer all three questions with the same- what I believe is the right move for the theme. A year consists of four major waves and one minor drop: January: A wave of small and mid-range sets. The variety would be roughly 1/3 each for the OT, Prequels/TCW, and Mandoverse/Sequels, with the occasional set for something more obscure and/or small new content drops. All sets are real system playsets, with the exception of 1 microfighter or mech. May: Dedicated 18+ wave where the yearly helmets, busts, midi-scale ships, etc are released, alongside the May UCS. August: The second major wave, focused on mid-range sets as well as the year's system/playscale heavy hitters. The same ratio is followed as in january in terms of source material. (Minor drop) October: Minor drop of the Advent Calendar, fall UCS, and a holiday exclusive set. Flex: A third system set wave that flexes based on whatever the biggest piece of new content is that year. If it's a movie, it's a dedicated wave for that movie, but for shows it may be split up. Oh, and obviously Smart Brick is discontinued.
  13. Honestly I don't think we've seen a single one in full in the entire movie marketing- there's potentially a shot of interceptors following the razor crest, but it seems like nobody can tell what specifically they are. I'm sure they'll show up, but lego might not have been provided with any material showing them. I mean, you've answered your own question there. You don't notice all the big names if you grew up with them as a kid, but objectively speaking Gosling isn't any crazier than someone like Neeson. Dude I still get Gosling confused with Brad Pitt, I keep thinking "Man, F1-Hail Mary-Starfighter is such a crazy streak", but he wasn't even in the first one. For most of the star wars target audience- which skews on the younger side- the only thing people will have seen him in is Project Hail Mary, or maybe Blade Runner 2049.
  14. Thanks- I imagine many would, it's vexing that lego seemingly has no immediate plans for the show. I had to go back and check where I was- I think Clone Wars? Though I count the Siege of Mandalore as a movie, so it'll go first: Gauntlet Starfighter Microfighter ($14.99): Bo-Katan Captain Rex Mech ($14.99): Captain Rex Mandalorian Civil War Battle Pack ($19.99): 1x male Mauldalorian, 1x female Mauldalorian, 1x male loyalist, 1x female loyalist. Build is a balutar-class swoop and a small representation of the wing-blast rocket pack from legends. Duel over Mandalore ($9.99): A scene representing the duel in the dome rafters with a function to "slice through" one of the beams to drop a figure down. Comes with Ahsoka Tano and Lord Maul. Siege of Mandalore ($29.99): destructable Mandalore terrain and underground tunnel entrance with Gar Saxon, Bo-Katan, and Captain Vaughn. Battle of Yerbana ($49.99): Corporate Alliance tank, droid command center, and barricade with Anakin Skywalker, 2x Clone Jet Trooper, a Super Tactical Droid, and 2x b1 battle droid. Captain Rex's Y-wing Starfighter ($69.99): Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano (cloak), and ARC Trooper Jesse Headhunter Starfighter vs Tri-fighter ($89.99): Comes with 2x buzz droid, a headhunter pilot, 2x 212th trooper, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Commander Cody. Includes bounty hunters- and a new mold for IG-88's head. Date unknown, "A lot of" them are 2027: Ewok Village ($179.99) Star Wars Mini-Movie Posters ($49.99) Buildable Yoda ($149.99) EPll Bounty Hunter Pursuit ($59.99) Icons of Star Wars ($79.99) Luke's X-wing Microfighter ($14.99) Anakin's Jedi Starfighter ($29.99): Delta-7B Luke vs Darth Vader: Bespin Duel (Price unknown) As a personal note, I do think there's a chance some of the above sets are in August, specifically the smaller ones. This would be our first year without a microfighter since they were introduced over a decade ago. Similarly- but with less length behind the trend- we've been getting a jedi starfighter once a year since 2022. 2027 "Smart" play sets: Ewok Attack ($29.99) Battle of Hoth: Echo Base ($139.99): Includes a Snowspeeder R2-D2 (Price unknown, but includes a "smart" brick.)
