The sets from last year were amazing and priced well too. Ironically everybody loves the sets now but when they were revealed last year, their were a whole lot of complaints about the figures and builds ( i.e. womping willow set).

Personally I like the marvel sets so don’t get the hostility towards either, but especially for this one. LEGO has most definitely put in a lot of effort into this theme and all the figures are great. Not too say that they don’t have there flaws but most of the things that I personally don’t like are still both reasonable and understandable on legos part. Personally I think that the negative attitude comes from the notion that some have that LEGO sets are about the figures and that sets with less detailed figures are just lazy. We shouldn’t judge sets or figures until we see all of them.

Some people in the AFOL community are about as bratty and whiny as spoiled children who don’t know what they’ been given. (Not to say all by any means or in all situations because some of the complaints about the marvel sets are well justified.)

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

These sets put themselves in a very interesting position as far as to the different design choices that ere made and honestly at first glance I found these to be underwhelming. Looking at them more though they are for the most part growing on me. .76118 Mr. Freeze Batcycle Battle: The most disappointing thing about the set to me are the figures. While accurate to his rebirth design, Mr. Freeze just feels so downgraded. The face is really good ( I would even say the most accurate and fitting one yet) but the white arms and light blue on the torso just stick out like a sore thumb and are jarring. If they were going to go sleeveless then the arms should have been a light blue color as his arms are not the same color as his head in the pictures (as I don't really follow the batman comics) that I could find of the design. The Mysterio helmet doesn't really work for this figure either and should really be using the dome piece that they used for him in the lego batman movie. Batman and Robin look fine and while I am glad that you can get the duo in a cheap set which is an important thing for kids who want the pair but don't have the money for the bat-cave. I get why they used the the spiked hair for Damian as hair is spiked, while not facing the front, and isn't long enough for the loyd hair piece. The best choice would have been a new mold similar to that of tracer's from overwhatch. Batman looks really good with the updated rebirth suit design and the head featuring the new white goggles design. It is also understandable why none of them have leg printing. As to the set itself I think that for $20 it is a good value considering that most sets at this price point are over the 10 cents per piece bench mark. While the batcycle may be over sized, I am actually really excited about due to the fact that it looks like the motercycle will be able to split into two. A feature like this would be awesome as isn't really done that often in Lego with the last set it being done in being Nexo Knights. The Mr. Freeze vehicle is a little bland but at least they provide a vehicle for him, which increases play value, unlike the next set on this list. 76119 Batmobile: Pursuit of The Joker: Out of the six sets this is the most puzzling as it looks like it was designed for kids but aimed at collectors. The design for this batmobile is most definitely inspired by the one in Batman forever and the one from the Tim Burton films which is where tit seems to be aimed at an older audience, however the figure are based off of modern interpretations especially with the Joker being based off of DC super villains. The mobile looks quite honestly fantastic and is my favorite design for it yet however probably won't appeal to that many kids. Most kids today probably haven't seen either of those films and know batman from the DCEU interpretation of the character, so would not find this particular version of the batmobile interesting as they more than likely wouldn't have any of the nostalgia. It is also made less appealing to them by the fact that it doesn't contain any vehicle for the joker which rather limits the play. The figures are again good although I wish joker had arm printing since he does in DC super villains. The price for this set isn't bad either. Right now here it stands though the set is disappointing. I mean Lego has advertised these as 80th anniversary batman sets, but none of them except except for this one really feel like they were designed to be anything too special ( not to say that these sets are bad). What is really upsetting is that this set could have been made a true 80 years of batman set, especially since a lot of people wanted a Tim Burton design for the Batmobile, but instead it feels like a half lazy attempt. I mean if they wanted to make i truly collectible (which I feel is what Lego was originally going for) then they should have made a Jack Nicholson version of the Joker and Michael Keaton Batman, added a vehicle for joker (one good example while not accurate to the movie would be the Joker mobile) and add a couple more characters based on the film series ( especially if Lego didn't feel inclined to so in other sets) such as Cat Woman, Riddler, bane, Two-ace, Poison Ivy or the Penguin. The set we are given by itself is actually great but under the specific advertisement of these sets, it is just horrible. 76120 Batwing and The Riddler Heist: The set for all it includes has good value and is around the price I would want to see it As far as the figures go all of them are pretty good. Riddler is subjectively the worst of the five of them. The design of the figure is simple but effective and the face works even if they should have made a new hair hat mold as the printed strips of hair on his face look to much like side burns. The thing that holds back the figure is that his suit is lime green as it it would look better (and be more accurate) if it was more of a darker shade of green such as the one that the majority of the pieces on his helicopter uses. Gordon looks great with his brown trench coat and the hair is works well for a younger Jim Gordon. I am Just glad that we finally get a comic book version of him as the previous versions were based off of The Lego Batman Movie and Darknight Returns. It is also great to a Shazam figure that is available to every one. The bank vault is nice and while simple so is the joker helicopter. The bat wing is very interesting. I think that the pieces used to help it look smooth ( the ones that have the four studs in a row at the top) doesn't help the appearance of it at all especially when you are looking at it from the side. The GCPD car while looking like a good build looks like it might be hard to put Gordon in their. Over all though the set has nice play value for kids which is the most important part. 76122 Batcave Clayface Invasion: It is very easy to see why people would say that is like a mash up of the previous bat caves. Batman and Robin are the same as in the Mr. freeze set which is good for those who don't want want to buy that set. It is disappointing to see a Batwoman that appears to be the exact same as the one from the Batwing last year as that set ( which is only $30) will more than likely still be on shelves making the figure a waist here especially considering that we haven't got ten a comic book version of Alfred since 2006. Bruce Wayne while generic is fine and the plaid suit looks okay. As far as the villains go, it's nice to see Cat woman using the mold made for her Lego Batman Movie figure and she looks nice. The two face looks good as well, however I don't agree with using the slicked back hair piece for him. I understand why they made Clay face buildable and think that for the number of pieces used that he looks okay. It looks very wide and short which doesn't help the build at all. I wish we could ave gotten an actual figure of him instead. The Bat Tank, or what ever the generic bat vehicle it is suppose to be, looks like it will offer good play value which is honestly needed since the Bat cave doesn't have much space for placing figures. That is not to say that the build is bad tough as I like the designs as a whole. It is great to see the changing feature from the the 2012 model brought back, looking better ( besides the tan technique pins) in the dark gray color scheme with the brown elements which I assume to be representing part of the physical cave. The prison cell is fine and so is the main section that contains the bat computer. The reference to Batmans treasure room is cool and the little work out are is fine as well. The biggest overall problem is the lack of depth. For all that comes in the set is is slightly overpriced and would be much more justifiable at $80-$90. The two junior sets are fine but easily passable. The Arkam should be around $25 as the main thing you are paying for is just a facade of the Asylum and and seems based on the pictures to lack an interior. Over all this wave is reasonably priced (or at least the system, non junior sets are any way) and have builds that collectively look good as well, carrying a vibe of the original Batman theme. I don't know if this is just me, but I also get a vibe/feeling that the set designers had originally designed these sets to be more collectible but for what ever reason scrapped those plans. -

That would make sense since the deal just took place a week or so ago. It's just a bummer because they have so much good material to make sets out of. -

That's what I had thought as well. It's also why I put so much emphasis on the merger as Disney will be more likely to produce toys of all sorts for these franchises now that they have full rights back. -

With the merger, lego has endless possibilities. Lets just hope that we don't get the same characters over and over and overlarge mother cycles. -

Same here. I really hope that lego would do both as they would be quite the money maker. Either way Lego has to give us a brick built Galactus -

Spiderman Noir would also be a great choice. Considering what a great job lego did with the stealth suit , I am quite excited to see what they could do with Noir. With that said though I really hope that they make some x-men sets before doing another wave of comic spider-man sets. With the Disney fox merger complete lego should have no problem with making sets for them. Imagine how cool it would be to get Cyclops, Jean Greay, Iceman, Beast, Nightcrawler and Professor X. -

Technically the street date is next Monday. True however I think lego is going to release one sooner or later. After all Surpieor Spiderman was the main character of the spider-verse (in reference to the comic not the movie) story line and is one of the more prominent spidey characters that have not been done yet. -
We still haven't seen the figures for the two sets coming out in August.
-
thanks for bringing up Dumbledore's face. I thoght it was the same one from the great hall as well.
-
Ernie's torso looks fine. Is it just me or does the printing on the shirt look a little thin. Maybe it's just the lighting though.
-
Agreed. I hope Lego gets there for older Hermione one day. In the mean time though I really like the rest of her figure. Looking back at the instagram photo, it most certainly is. You can tell by the curving of the slope piece.
-
The new figures based on the trio look great. Love the design that they used for Hermione but am not entirely thrilled about the face although for what they were going for, it seems acceptable. Finally we are getting midlegs in other colors ( I know that Luna had blue midlegs in the cmf series but that figure wasn't realesed into an actual set and therefore the part was relatively exclusive). The hat was a dark tan with a grayish hue based on pictures of him during the yule ball scene . The hat defiantly seems darker on the figure than it was in the movie however I don't think that Lego has the color in there palette so this is probably the best alternative.
-
Are you 100% sure?
-
My bet guess would be around April 22 as that is the rumored release date for the spiderman far from home sets. It seems that Lego likes to release HD images for sets right after a wave of sets release.
-
Some of them have jumped the gun big time an d probably all for nothing. I don’t know why some people have issues with a new author expanding the world they created. While a possibility it is very unlikely.
-
.I agree. Lego is really trying to revamp the series and has so far done a wonderful job. The effort shows in the sets that they released last year and have already shown effort in what has been leaked so far. None of the figures are truly bad or lazy. I am just happy that they are giving us all the champions especially Fleur who is making her day view as a lego figure. Cheers to lego making the characters that they have never made before. here here. Everything Lego has done for the figures so far makes sense. As far as we are aware, no. The movie didn't have the best reception so it is not likely that they will release any more for the first two fantastic beast movies. While I as a harry potter fan really liked it, there is much controversy in the hp fandom since the movie changes all the lore and things we were told in the harry potter books/movies. I don't belive that Lego could capitalize on it.

Personally I think that the Fleur figure is a little bland, not because of TLG but because of the in universe design of her outfit for the first task. With the design that it has I don't thin that silver would have looked that good on plastic and think that the gold and tan (while not as accurate to the source material) works better. Fleur's on s face while not the best choice matches her character well enough based on what I can remember of the film and pictures of her that I found online (as to formulate my thoughts on all of their faces). Harry looks great with Lloyd hair piece in black as it matches the messiness and length of the hair perfectly. Harry's robes look great and I think that the arms being red helps highlight the colors of his outfit and stand a part from Cedric as the main character should. As far as Krum and Cedric there robes look great matching the source materials quit nicely. While their face choices aren't the best either, they are actually starting to grow on me. While neither of the faces given to Cedric completely capture his look, the Solo one doesn't look bad at all. In fact looking at the different pictures of Cedric from the movie, it is easy to see the likeness of the two and why Lego chose it. Out of the three Victors is the wort but still looks fin even though it doesn't have a printed goatee. The emission of his goatee or facial hair makes sense, and is honestly for the best, because it's rather light in the movie and would probably look to dark or bushy given the limitations to Legos printing. Overall this years waves of Harry Potter lego sets is quite promising. The new buckbeak looks fantastic especially with the way the molded head was done. The stag looks amazing with the glittery look on its translucent blue body. While not completely representing the characters they are based on ( with many figures not doing so in general), the champions for what they are look great including the faces especially when the budget and Legos printing/color limitations are considered. Lego didn't have to bring back the theme but its great that they did and have the opportunity to make the sets better than the original ones were.

I still think that their might be a wave sets latter this year or next year for Endgame. Next year would be the perfect opportunity because their doesn't seem to be any big Marvel movie coming out and it would have given people enough of a chance to see the movie as to allow Lego to release figures and sets that right now would be considered as spoilers. -
I am with you on that one. I would rather have the molds for the animals be more realistic and have better printing. For one thing the Lego movie 2 is a lego made property which had a lot of money put into the movie so they wanted to produce good products for the movie as well since it wouldn't sell as well as super heroes or Star wars with out being heavenly promoted. Also Lego can't put all their money into one theme. A lot of of their money money goes to Star wars, Super hero's, and Ninjago.
