Did you know, there was quite a lot of overlap between pirates and jousting? Pirates have existed from classical antiquity through to modern times. One example of direct conflict between the two was the Knights of Malta wars against the Barbary pirates. In England, jousting continued into the reign of Elizabeth I. But this is really just a chance to expand the world of BOBS TOO. Read the introduction thread, we're set in the equivalent to the mid to late 1400s. You might enjoy getting involved!

Your path takes you out onto the open ocean. Show us the vessel you're travelling on and what happens on your voyage. This prompt has been chosen with help from @evancelt, the winner of the first individual challenge. This prompt will be subject to the rules laid out in How to Play. The subject is open to your interpretation. Your MOC can be literally any size. You don't even have to include terrain if you don't want to. Feel free to build in microscale (or other scales as you prefer). Your ship can be part of a larger convoy, but please remember that Trrraversa and the new world won't officially be discovered for a couple of centuries. Also, remember that every player gets the chance to vote for their favourites. If you want that to include your build, think about how you'd get people to vote for you. To submit an entry, add your own thread topic under Tales of Old. Start the title with [FACTION - CH3]. Then, once that topic is published, link to it in this topic. Easy! Entries will close and voting will open on 9 March. Entries submitted after that date may miss out on votes from their colleagues. Players must belong to a faction before submitting an entry. Feel free to ask questions here or to your faction leaders.

Jozef's Inn ~ Ye Ancient BoBS ToO Drinking Hole

I came up with most of the mechanics for the game, so I'd like to address your concerns again @NOD. Agree. This is why we leave a month between each challenge. This is the "off-season" where you're encouraged to build whatever you want. For example, @Khorne built his lovely Battle of Ice River freebuild. In BOBS, sometimes players took it upon themselves to provide prompts for those like "Oktoberfest" and "Soccer Tournament". If you'd like to start one of those, please feel free to do so. As previously stated, we have a timeframe of 30 days to balance between better builds and more challenges. I actually think shorter timeframes favour beginners because they prevent people from spending months building massive creations. I have suggested an entry can just be minifigures. I will make this more explicit. I disagree with this. Every player who builds an entry, enjoys themselves and gets feedback is a winner. I deliberately made the prize for getting the most votes as small as possible. They get to help decide what happens in the next challenge. But I do take your point. I've played other games on Eurobricks and it's really hard to find a way to reward builds without punishing other builds. BOBS set minimum entry criteria for challenges, which meant that you couldn't respond if you didn't have enough bricks. Moreover, if GMs didn't think your build was good enough, it wasn't allowed to earn points. SW Factions was worse. Your builds earned points according to the GMs opinions. GMs were also faction leaders. They also didn't explain why they scored those points the way they did. BOBS TOO aims to simplify this. We let all players vote on builds and explain why they voted the way they did. Love this. People can vote for digital builds and stories, and include this in their reasoning. On a personal note, I don't normally like digital builds because I rarely think it looks as good as real bricks. But in the last challenge I voted for one digital build and for one real brick build because I thought they were equally good. Voters are free to form their own opinions. I didn't set up separate categories because I didn't want to complicate things. The "prize" for having the highest voted build is that you get to help decide what happens in the next challenge. If it was anything more significant, like earning in-game points, or winning actual Lego sets, I probably would have. The "prize" is just to focus builders. Also, I didn't want to have to force players to vote for those categories if they didn't want to. Its up to you guys to decide what "good" looks like and to vote accordingly. I really encourage you to submit a build, any build, for this challenge. See how you get on! I think you might enjoy yourself. Then vote for what you think is most deserving of a win. If you want to encourage beginners, digital builds and stories, vote for them! I'm sure people would really appreciate your positive feedback. -
In their infinite wisdom, the rulers of the land have decided that we need information about our rivals. Visit one of the other factions and gather intelligence. This prompt will be subject to the rules laid out in How to Play. The subject is open to your interpretation. This doesn't have to be enemy military secrets - knowing the health, happiness and prosperity of our allies is just as important. Your MOC can be literally any size. You don't even have to include terrain if you don't want to. Just remember that every player gets the chance to vote for their favourites. If you want that to include your build, think about how you'd get people to vote for you. To submit an entry, add your own thread topic under Tales of Old. Start the title with [YOUR OWN FACTION - CH2]. You don't need to include the name of the faction you're spying on in your thread title. Then, once that topic is published, link to it in this topic. Easy! You have until 4 January to build a scene depicting life under one of the other factions, those being: Mardier Corrington Oleon Pyros Mogholay The Black Horde From 5 January you will vote for your favourite builds. The faction with the single most popular build will decide what happens next. Players must belong to a faction before submitting an entry. We want to know who you're spying for, after all.

OK chaps! Thanks everyone for taking part and for voting. Congratulations to @evancelt for winning the opening chapter. That Taemric Castle really set the bar for us to beat next time. We'll be in touch in due course to discuss their reward; choosing the prompt for the next individual challenge. The next prompt will drop at the start of December, so feel free to take the rest of this month off (or MOC something for yourself). It will be a Faction challenge, so have a chat with your teammates and think about how you might work together. -

Tragically, @Jim's submission was after the deadline... -
Hi @Jim your test worked! I think. Are planning on joining BOBS TOO? It's not the most piratey of content, but I think with a couple of tweaks it could work...

I love that blue! And your writing style is great too. Looking forward to seeing more of this story.

I'm going to vote for: @Khorne for a lovely digital build when I don't normally like them. @evancelt For sheer volume. -
Some classy minis. Can we get a closer look at the banner? It looks great. Custom, right?
