  1. TOP MISS: The school is the greatest disappointment, especially for the price. The bus, I mean most of us can do better. Too bad and I do want that teacher fig - I wore almost the exact outfit the other day at work (as a teacher)! TOP HIT: Hospital is creative and pretty cool as are the Lunar Research Base and Launch Center. Definitely the highlights. MY WALLET: Love the Picnic in the Park - will get one or three (for my City's Parks dept), Probably the Beach Lifeguard Station for the figs and bike, maybe the Mobile Crane (looks good) and maybe the Horse Transporter (great trailer and figs, average tow vehicle, and lame price).
  2. Hi all, Any reviews or experiences with https://www.liteupblock.com/ Like quality, or shipping, or even if legit? I'm after those single one off light blocks without wires and this is what I could find. The streetlights look cool. Any other options out there? I can't find much on eBay. Thanks, Chris
  3. It's a bit disappointing that they don't roll out the leaks or new images in relatively quick succession - like every other day or three, thus making it all an 'event' to create buzz, discussion, and excitement. When they space it randomly with weeks between people tend to wander off. I know I've been checking daily expecting the leaks to show, or images, but with little coming I'll be turning my gaze elsewhere. I will still look forward to finding out but won't keep LEGO on the brain for weeks straight.
  4. thanks for the tip!
  5. I'm by far most curious about the school and CREATOR Noodle Shop. If the latter follows the trend of mini-modulars it will be very cool (hopefully nothing 'weird' like that ice cream parlour thing from a few years back that wasn't really a building). Horse transporter sounds interesting as well. The school will be interesting - as I understand it there will be a bus and the price tag isn't huge, so I hope it's not some stripper facade like 60306 and there is an actual 'useable' building (even 60292 detail would be ok in my book).
  6. never mind - found the promobricks EOL list for 2021 - not on it.
  7. Does anyone know if 60292 is staying in production or winding down? Thanks!
  8. Very sorry to see it all go. Moving? Moving on to something else?
  9. Thanks for the review. I think you are right on with the hipster beanie comment, and the customer looks like a stereotypical gender studies/sociology major or social justice oriented teacher, in Seattle or any other large metropolitan city in the western world. At least that's my read... I'm not a coffee drinker, but I'm sure in large American cities (like Seattle) espresso machines and combos must be common?
  10. For my 2 cents 1. Given the traditional roadplate has been around for 40+ years in a couple of versions, and given the number of towns and cities that have been built over the decades by kids and AFOLs across the globe, I'm a bit disappointed that LEGO won't run both systems temporarily as the transition is made (ie continue to sell road plates as an option). 2. Personally I don't believe the two systems work well together, unless there is some logical 'in-world' transition (ie - old town with road plates, and a shiny new part of the City with buildings to match) but that's to each their own. 3. I will stick with the older roadplates as my town as reached it's limit, the added cost of conversion, plus I think the new narrower roads are really tight on 6 wide vehicles. and the roads don't look great with the gloss (though easier to wipe I suppose). On the other hand, if I was starting from scratch or had only a building or two, I'd probably make the leap to the new roads and make them work and see what new possibilities they open up.
  11. I'm sorry to be negative, but did that construction worker bludgeon that poor woman with a hammer?
  12. For anyone with a town/city already going, who is thinking of 'upgrading' to the new design roads, and who is thinking of sticking with the traditional road plates, and are traditional road plates going OOP or will both co-exist?
  13. thanks for the reply!
  14. Quick question - will the Dec 2020 Minecraft sets be out before Christmas (bee keeper, trading post, abandoned mine)? I'm trying to figure out my Christmas shopping... Thanks!
  15. thanks for the comments and kind words!
  16. looks great - very San Francisco!
  17. thanks - figuring out how and where to place everything was the fun challenge. As for space, we have a very modest house, and I've now had to move Billsville 3 times, so now it's squeezed next to the furnace!
  18. looks great - how big is the entire town? Love all the little vignettes - I ended up making a relatively large central park for similar purposes (seasonal scenes etc...)
  19. thanks - love the Jrs but using new hair (and legs!). Would like to seem ore of your City
  20. thanks very much - coming from you that's a big compliment! Also, please keep in mind that in case any residents of Rava Town need to get away from the action and noise of big city life, Billsville is a tourist destination with small town feel, more relaxed pace of life, and great for camping and boating. Unfortunately there is no local airport, so access from ferry or train only (when the rail line is complete mind you). Also, no Wi-Fi.
  21. Town: Billsville (named for 'Bill' of 'Bill and Mary' fame [Ideas Book 6000] - there is even a statue of Bill in Central Park) Population: 121 Industry: Transportation, Resource Sector, Tourism Design Background: An excuse to buy LEGO sets when my kids buy LEGO sets. I tried to keep to official sets as much as possible, but modifications are of course needed to make it all fit. SIdewalks are all double plate high, so buildings can be removed at will. I debated going with the CREATOR modular series instead, but decided (perhaps unwisely) to go with CREATOR 'Mini-Modulars' as they 1) fit better with City LEGO 2) cheaper 3) smaller and 4) keep more in scale with old school LEGO Town. It's not done, and that's the idea - keep adding to it as LEGO set releases allow.... Thanks for your time!
