  1. I was also surprised red hasn't turned up yet, but someone pointed out that a red package might make the LEGO logo less visible. They do seem to be running out of bright colors, though something like Medium Lavender might not be out of the question.
  2. +1 for darkdragon, got some excellent parts! Thanks!
  3. Here's what I have available to trade at the moment (US trades only please): 14 Metallic Gold 2x2 bricks 35 Pearl Gold jumper plates 9 Dark Brown telescopes 3 White long bones 8 Reddish Brown arched window frames with Pearl Gold lattice inserts full set of Heroica weapons 2 Baseball Players (Series 3) 2 Kimono Girls (Series 4) 1 Ice Fisherman (Series 5) 1 Artist (Series 4) 1 Mummy (Series 3) 1 Karate Master (Series 2) (the baseplates for all the CMFs are included but not shown in the picture) What I'm looking for: 1x2 Technic bricks with 2 holes 8x8 plates 1x1 and 1x2 tiles Black telescopes 1x1 cones in any shade of grey Any small bricks in "Dark," "Earth," or "Sand" colors 1x2 Sand Red bricks (I know these are rare; that's why I'm offering up the Metallic Gold bricks for an even trade on these) Thanks for looking!
  4. I've already agreed to send someone the redcoat fig and one of the swords, but everything else is fair game if you're still interested, thanks!
  5. I'd prefer to keep it local (really can't afford overseas shipping). But thanks for your interest!
  6. Oh, sorry, should have mentioned I'm in the US.
  7. I'm looking to get back into more microscale building, so my top priority is getting a wide range of small pieces. Specifically, I would like 1x1 and 1x2 tiles in any color, especially Medium and Dark Stone Grey 1x2 Technic bricks with two holes Black Technic pins with friction ridges 8x8 plates Any small bricks in Brick Yellow, Sand Yellow, Medium Nougat, Dark Red, and/or Earth Green (Basically, just look through the inventory of 10230 Mini Modulars for a rough idea of the sort of parts I'm stocking up on.) Here's what I have available to trade: (Crystals: 12 each of red, green, and orange; 13 each of light blue and neon green; 1 pink. Everything else should be pretty self-explanatory, but let me know if you need any clarification.) EDIT: Most of the lot has been claimed except for the bones and Heroica weapons. I also have (not pictured) nine Dark Brown telescopes (ideally I'd like to trade these for an equal number of black telescopes, though I'll certainly consider any other offer) and 35 pearl gold jumper plates. Also, if a mod could change the title to a general "Tragic Banjo's Trade List" it would be greatly appreciated. I can only trade within the US right now, thanks!
  8. If not for the fact that we're apparently getting a modular Town Hall next year, I would have predicted one for the Winter Village. A ski lodge would be pretty cool though, maybe with a New Year's Eve celebration scene. I would personally love a shelter/soup kitchen set since I associate the holidays with charitable works, but this village is presumably a utopian society where there would be no need for such things.
  9. That's what I was going for, yeah. (The same part in Reddish Brown is used for the bench in front of Cafe Corner in the Mini Modulars set.) Though I wish they existed in Sand Red or Sand Violet so they could look like granite.
  10. A quick little 8x8 MOC loosely based on Cincinnati's Fountain Square and designed at roughly the same scale as the Mini Modulars. If I can get ahold of enough tiles, I'll expand this into a 16x16 version so I can add more details. Any recommendations for the expansion are quite welcome!
  11. That's correct if you're just going by volume, but there are lots of different factors that make a LEGO set worth the money. For instance, I know price per piece isn't necessarily a perfect metric either, but it is less than 6¢ per piece, which I see as a very good value. (And sure, they're small pieces, but for fans of microscale building that's a plus.)
  12. Ooh, I will definitely have to get this! The modulars have always been out of my price range (well, a lot of sets are outside my price range; it's one reason I'm drawn to microscale) so the chance to get mini versions for $16 apiece is too good to pass up. And if this set is popular enough, we'll almost certainly get more mini-modulars later on.
  13. That is so cute! I'm getting married next year and I'm really tempted to get this - now if only I could custom-order it to match our colors...
  14. The biggest problem I see with this (and the main reason I am uncomfortable with the Nougat colors being referred to as "flesh" or "skin") is that, well, there are a lot of skin colors out there in the real world. There are six or seven colors in TLG's current palette alone that could make for more realistic skin tones. So while Bright Yellow is a racially ambiguous enough color that it can be applied to all minifigures without looking "off," making them all Light Nougat (as I assume you're trying to do here) has the effect of making the Tribal Chief, Egyptian Queen, and many others suddenly just look like white people at a costume party instead of cultural archetypes.
  15. It's possible the line isn't done for - if Pottermore really takes off, it may be enough to sustain interest in new sets, though I don't know how the licensing would work for that since TLG wouldn't be going through Warner Bros. anymore. My personal preference would be new sets for all four common rooms, at a price point around $29.99 each to allow for a reasonable level of detail but not so much that it would break the bank to collect them all.
  16. These all look awesome - and if I'm not mistaken the surgeon is a woman, giving us a total of five in this series! I'm disappointed the Statue of Liberty isn't Sand Green though, unless the leak we've already seen is more up-to-date than the pictures (probably renders?) here.
  17. Thanks for the review! Nice to get to see the build from different angles - I'm glad there is some Earth Green in the base. I know I'll pick this up eventually, but it'll take a while to save up for it.
  18. As I recall only nine of the Series 5 figs were known at first, so there is certainly precedent for it, and I can't see any reason they'd reduce the number since they've done so well with 16 up to this point.
  19. So would a continuation of the Cars line totally rule out the possibility of Brave sets, or can I keep holding out hope for those? Maybe later in the year?
  20. I love Fallingwater so much - that set singlehandedly brought me out of my dark ages. I modified mine slightly, adding dark red and medium and dark stone grey to update the color scheme, but even without that I agree it's the best of the lot. The way all the parts slide into each other and into the surrounding site make it not just a model of the building but a physical representation of the architectural concepts behind it.
  21. I have: Series 2 Karate Master Series 3 Baseball Player Mummy Series 4 Kimono Girl x2 Artist Crazy Scientist I want: Series 2 Pop Star Series 3 Tennis Player Rapper Series 4 Street Skater Sailor Soccer Player Series 5 Any I'd prefer to stick with US traders. Thanks!
  22. Very nice review! I was actually just about to do one myself since I noticed there still hadn't been one, but yours is much better than mine would've turned out. The Empire State Building is easily my favorite of the Landmark Series so far, and I really like the way it utilizes different half-stud jumping techniques to create the setbacks that really define the iconic design.
  23. Doesn't look like anyone has pointed this out yet, but Series 5 is now available on the LEGO S@H site!
  24. I feel like that would be too specific - after all, all of the pieces you just mentioned are single-use molds. There are endless varieties of shapes and styles of dresses, and I think they can be better represented with the simplest possible shape. By leaving more to the imagination, the slope piece can suggest a wider range of dress styles, and like Aanchir noted, the blocky shape is more in keeping with the conventions of other basic minifigure parts.
  25. This is amazing! I love that the guitar even has a whammy bar, and the worn-out sticker on one of the records makes it really look like a well-worn used album cover.
