Amazon UK have Jabba's Palace - 9516 @ £94.82 (21% off), which is the cheapest I've found so far: (link here) They also have Ewok attack - 7956 @ £12.45 (52% off) which is a total bargain! (link here)

Don't worry, I'm sure that it will appear in one of the Special Editions of Episode III
-
I'd guess this is part of the landing platform on Utapau, there's a 'skeleton' framework above one of them (page 194 of 'Sculpting a Galaxy) If so, I'll be very interested to see how it turns out; it looks quite an awkward shape to replicate in Lego!

An easy way of monitoring my collection?!
Lobot replied to shinobisgreenshinpads's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi, it's easy to do this directly in the New(er) versions of Excel as follows: i) Copy the text, open Excel and paste the data. ii) Select the 'Data' tab on the main ribbon, and select 'Text To Columns' iii) Select the 'Delimited' radio button in the new window then 'Next' iv) In the next screen select the 'Comma' tickbox & then 'Next' v) In the next window select 'Finish' This will split the data nicely into colums for you Please PM me if you need a copy! -
Not much I can add to this that hasn't already been said. This is a superb design; the comparison to the UCS version is great, it must have been huge! Do you have any plans for a new version?
-
Thanks for the review You've convinced me not to buy this, unless I can find it at a decent discount! The Darth Maul figure is simply terrible....I'll never understand why they decided to use him
-
I totally agree! I collected vintage SW for a couple of years and ended up with a decent collection; some of this was AFA graded. It's a sensible idea to preserve toys that were 30+ years old but, as far as I'm concerned, Lego should be built! I'm looking forward to buying MISB a Cloud City one day, and I will open & build it (albeit rather carefully ).
-
In the 'Hopeful' rather than 'Totally nuts' range:(link here) It's already got 4 offers so it will probably sell at some point...there's a Cloud City also available
-
Is it possible to have an approximate translation of the above? It doesn't make a great deal of sense to those of us who are in the UK, and in their mid-thirties!
-
If my maths is any good it's nearly 5 feet long! Do you have any idea of the weight and the number of parts used? Congratulations on a superb job, this must have taken serious dedication to complete
-
My initial 'Meh' reaction is confirmed. The Rancor set is the only set that holds any interest for me. Ah well, at least it will be a cheap year (unless they finally release a new Cloud City....!)

'Stolen' LDD MOCs in the LEGO.com Star Wars Creations Page

Two of the photos are of Mutley's collection!! Why do they do this......? -
This is looking really impressive, well done! Is there much more to do before it's finished? Please can you add some more photos when you have time - I'm especially interested in how you constructed the circular part

Toys 'R' Us are offering 20% off all Lego this Bank Holiday, so some of the new (or exclusives) are cheaper than on Amazon etc. You can either order online, or buy instore but you need to download a voucher (link here)

Lego Star Wars 9678 Twin-Pod Cloud Car™ & Bespin™ Details from Lego S@H: ‘Defend planet Bespin with the twin-pod cloud car! Gas planet Bespin plays a key role in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back when Luke Skywalker travels to Cloud City to rescue his friends. However, it's a trap and he is forced to battle evil Darth Vader. This set includes an accurate model of Bespin, a Lobot minifigure, a twin-pod cloud car mini-model, a weapon, and a display stand with name plaque. Collect the other Series 2 sets: 9677 X-wing Starfighter & Yavin 4 and 9679 AT-ST & Endor! • Includes 1 minifigure: Lobot • Features Bespin, twin-pod cloud car mini-model, weapon • Vehicle and minifigure display stand also included • Hang your planet from the ceiling! • Explore the LEGO Star Wars galaxy while you play! • Planet Bespin diameter over 3” (9cm) • Twin-pod cloud car measures over 2” (7cm) long’ RRP £9.99 (UK), 78 parts This was the only 2012 set that really stood out when I first saw it but, to be honest, I was always going to like it! Although I’ve always loved the original Lobot, mine was starting to look a little bit ‘tired’ mainly due to a slight discolouration of the printing along the side of his head, and he needed to be updated. I was determined to wait for a slight discount as the RRP seemed a little bit pricey. I finally purchased this today, when I found it 20% off at Toys ‘R’ Us. So what do you get for your hard-earned money? Read on and find out. This is the first of the Planet series that I’ve purchased. It’s certainly an interesting design, but they don’t seem to stack neatly on the shelf, and the packaging doesn’t seem very efficient! The artwork is really nice, and I’m especially fond of the dark blue background which adds a touch of class. Front: Back: The instructions are folded and located in the box; the Lego is stored within the ‘Planet’ and are split in two (un-numbered!) bags!. It was nice to see that the ‘Planet’ was almost full of Lego. Not a massive amount of parts (78) but a nice selection. I particularly like the orange, it makes a nice change from the ‘Bley’ of the majority of SW sets that I own. Contents: The instruction booklet is 32 pages long and the construction is broken down into 20 steps for the Cloud Car, plus a further 7 for the stand. Build time is a matter of minutes, and quite fun. Sorry about the photo of the parts list, but the folded paper made a decent photo difficult. Parts list: So what’s the end result like? The model is actually pretty accurate, lots of nice little details for such a small model. It’s a shame that it isn’t minifigure scale, but I suppose that ‘s due to market forces. The main attraction to me, like most potential buyers, will be the exclusive minifigure...so is it an improvement on the original? Well, I’ll let you decide, but I’m really impressed by him! Finished: Lobot's printing is perfect. My only criticism is that he looks a little bit serious, it’s almost bordering on stern. I’m not sure why he’s been given a blaster either, as he never had one in the original film (or in any of the versions of the film that GL has made to date)...perhaps it will happen in the next one! I’m slightly disappointed that Lego didn’t include a brief description of who Lobot was in the advert for the set. I know that he didn’t say much in the film, but he played a vital role!! A few more shots of Lobot in his natural home below, looking very unimpressed by my inability to source the last 19 parts for the set. On that note, if anyone has the two wedge pieces in Light-Bluish Grey (41767 & 41768) so that I can finish the duelling section please PM me, as I can’t find them anywhere new! Lobot looking stern from the front: Lobot looking stern from the back: Lobot looking stern from the side: Lobot looking dissapointed: In conclusion, a nice little set with a great minifigure. Well worth buying if you can find it with a slight discount. I live in hope that Lego will finally release a new Cloud City as it seems very odd that they would release this set without one in the pipeline.... Anyway, I hope you liked my review. C & C welcome

Considering selling LEGO 10196 grand carousel
Lobot replied to The Joker1's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Ebay (UK) have been running regular 'free listing' weekends this year for auctions....normally every 2-3 weeks. You can either i) run a 24 hour auction from Saturday - Sunday if you need a quick sale, and/or ii) if it doesn't sell re-list it on Sunday evening for 7 days!! The listing is obviously free, so if it doesn't sell you won't be charged anything. You'll be charged 10% of the selling price (excluding the postage) by Ebay, plus another 3-4% if the buyer pays via Paypal. I'd recommend setting the minimum price at a level you'd be happy to accept, as there's a flood of stuff advertised when they run them (so you might have less bidders!!) I hope that this helps. Cheers, Robin -
The Lorax I had a collection of the Dr Seuss books as a child (a long time ago!) and this was one of the best stories. The film is well worth watching; it's funny and beautifully made.
-
It's only 30 minutes drive away for me.....I was tempted to take a look, but when I quietly mentioned it to Mrs Lobot she didn't seem overly impressed by the idea! Seriously though, what would you do with it all? Also, for me part of the fun of collecting is the countless hours that you can 'productively' waste on Ebay & Bricklink etc searching for bargains; it's just too much.
-
Meh..... I'm not overly impressed by the list. I was hoping fore several Episode II sets a decent non-CW Yoda. I don't expect that the A-wing will be that different from the one in 7754, so it could be a cheap year for me.

Something like this (link here) and maybe a nice shed to put it in Must stop buying more Lego.....

The UK RRP is £245.99, so I'm not sure how £300-£350 is 3 three times higher; perhaps it's the different exhange rates However, by the time you factor in Ebay & Paypal fees it won't be a massive return, even at £350. If it goes on sale again before they discontinue it I might grab another one though..... As DFOL said, it's a beautiful model, only beaten by the Falcon in my opinion

Don't worry about the thread, one of the mods will probably merge it into the Q & A I get the impression that the shuttle hasn't sold in massive numbers (it's already been on sale), so there's a reasonable chance it will rise to the £300-£350 range within 12 months. I don't think that the Death Star will ever be really valuable (when it's finally out of production!) as it's been available for 4 years and there seems to be a considerable amount of 'stockpiling' going on!!

It's still available on the UK Lego S@H website: (link here) It's a really nice set, and doesn't seem to have received the credit that it deserves. It's cream rather than white, the top wing wobbles, and it doesn't have a loading ramp, but I don't regret buying it! There's a general Star Wars 'Q & A' thread at the top of the Star Wars page (link here) it's probably best to add this sort of question there in future, rather than creating a new thread
