LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
CodeNameGoldMember replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I’m all for Super Battle Droids finally making a come back but I really wish they would have done these clone sets when they had a better design. I’m just not a fan of these combined realistic/animated designs and the grey cheeks just don’t look good to me. I like this Millennium Falcon Christmas set though. I hope they continue this trend in future years. I’m still so excited for the UCS Venator. I’ve been saving my VIP points for the one day they finally made this set and while I’ll be just a hair shy, I’ll be almost able to get it purely with my saved points. -

I don't really understand why they keep giving us so many Clone Commanders, especially in the Advent Calendar. I mean if you bought every set currently available or will be in the near future that has a Phase 1 Clone Trooper, you'd have 3 Clone Commanders and 2 Regular Clones. It just seems kind of lazy. If they threw in a Captain, Lieutenant, or Sergeant instead I would be willing to bet that the Advent Calendar would at least sell a little better than it's currently going to. When do the rumors for the set names for a winter wave generally start showing up? Willing to bet the $9.99 is either a Millennium Falcon or Luke's Landspeeder Microfighter at this rate. Either way I'm always excited to see what the next wave holds. The amount of movies and shows to pull from now and in the future is getting kind of crazy honestly. -

I don't think Kuiil looks great, but I think slapping some medium legs would help a little. Unless I'm just completely misremembering, Kuiil seemed taller than any of the other Ugnaught's we've seen so throwing on some slightly bigger legs might help it look a little too, top heavy? -

Anyone else find it weird that we haven't gotten a Super Battle Droid since 75085 Hailfire Droid back in 2015? I'm also curious why LEGO has never made a crab droid. They only have slightly less screen time than the Spider Droids and they haven't even made an attempt at one. Either way, the AT-TE looks fantastic. Figures all look amazing! I'm glad they added something beyond just the 212th troopers with the Clone Gunner. (Personally wish they would have swapped out one of the 212th for an airborne for even more variety, but that's asking a little too much. I feel like these new helmet molds also help bring a great chance at other clone divisions and more specifically, Commanders, being made. I could see a Gunship or AT-OT in the mix in the coming years. The Justifier looks great too and the landing functions are pretty cool. The price point seems odd to me but it also looks pretty hefty of a build. I'm truly surprised LEGO was able to hold out as long as they did for these sets. It was rather refreshing getting to see something I hadn't already seen official images of like last years Light Cruiser. (I know the images leaked right before but I was already invested in the Conn with the Castle reveal) -

Agreed. It seems like they might take the Gunship route with this one and just make it the oversized, detailed model rather than anything minifig scale. I'm kind of surprised after those poor quality AT-TE photos nothing else besides better photos of the 212th Troopers and their helmets has come up. It seems like after some poor quality photos some much nicer ones pop up fairly quickly after. Besides the AT-TE and Cad Bane's ship, is there anything else we haven't seen yet from this wave? -

As for the Obi v Vader duel, while it's overall fairly average, the figures look absolutely amazing, especially that NED droid. I need a Chopper, K2SO, and NED droid death squad to roll up on some IMPs. I can understand the complaints of price but with LEGO's announcement of the price hike, I feel like every complaint is just beating a dead horse twice over at this point. -

I've been saying it for a while but I could definitely see him having this ship AND a Razor Crest. I'm sure they could find some way to have it dock up with it. This N-1 is fun and has some great uses, but lets be honest, Mando is stubborn and you know he still wants a Razor Crest. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the wave. Seems like we'll be getting stuff pretty quickly here. I know we've only had 1 LEGO con so far but after last years "Surprise" reveal, I wouldn't be surprised if they reveal yet again a ship that we already know and have plenty of photos of. -

Has anyone else had issues with their local stores not bringing out new products for at the very least a couple weeks? I live in the PNW is the US and every single Target, Fred Meyer, and Walmart never seem to have any new releases for weeks to even months. Costco and sometimes Amazon have been my only saviors on certain sets here and there. -

I've placed a couple orders online, but stopped by my local store today and picked up the UCS Landspeeder. I thought the keychain promo was cool but was expecting it to be some cheaper plastic, boy was I wrong. This keychain is super solid and cool. Glad I'll have a couple of them. As for the $530.00 set that's supposed to be coming in the fall, have we gotten many rumors regarding it? I had seen a Yavin IV rebel base rumor, but that's the only thing I've seen so far. (Not even sure if that's even close to reliable) -

Couldn't what everyone originally thought would be an Obi-wan (show) set is actually one of these 18+ Diorama type sets that is Vader vs Obi-wan from Episode 4? They seem to be on a roll for the OT dioramas. Vader's Meditation Chamber, Yoda's Hut, Trash Compactor, Death Star Run, why wouldn't they do one of the biggest scenes from the very first movie? -

Just trying to make it movie accurate, no? As much as I didn’t want a UCS Landspeeder, I have to admit it doesn’t look bad at all. I’m not going to race to go get it but I’ll definitely pick it up eventually. -

Cody is Beru confirmed? Jk. Honestly relieved all the speculation is over (for this at least) I really love the idea of multiple levels of gifts, the final being a small vignette with an exclusive figure. Definitely make me look forward to some future ones as well. *cough* Dexters Diner *cough cough* I haven’t participated in a May 4th event for LEGO in a while. Do they still do a small discount on older sets for the event? -

For some reason I totally forgot what the Spider Droid was and was imaging what I now remember as the crab droid from Episode 3, and now my disappointment is immeasurable. -

I definitely like it, but I don't know if I could say I love it. In all honesty, I typically buy all the sets no matter the price but I would say that $100 does seem a little excessive. The figures are fantastic (minus Boba Fett's helmet still not being recolored and I'm not sold on Fennac's hair). The build isn't complicated and in the end looks pretty good. If anyone is hesitant, I'd say wait for a sale and pick it up cheaper than MSRP, not really a must have day 1 set, but still a set worth having if that makes any sense. Also, I'm not a fan of big box sets having push tabs to open but I guess isn't bad at all for any sealed collectors. -

Just picked up Boba Fett's Throne Room at Costco for $80. Definitely worth it at that price and 2 weeks early. Looking forward to all of the other releases so far this year. This mixed/constant waves have been kind of nice, dropping us goodies every couple months. -

The Clone Trooper Accessory Pack and Ahsoka Brickheadz is currently live on LEGO.com US and I believe Canada too. Rebel Hoth Troopers hasn’t gone up yet. -

So I ordered 3 battle packs, 2 AT-STs, and the microfighter but I have yet to see the accessory packs and brickhead go live on S@H US. Anyone know when they might finally go up? Their page went from Coming January 1st to Coming Soon at 9pm PST last night. -

Love the packs. I can learn to love the "hybrid" design of the clones. I do kind of wish they would have gone with a different clone color but I also want everyone to have a chance to get the Commander and not be forced to get the Gunship to get him. The Hoth pack looks excellent as well and compliments the other Hoth sets perfectly. (Literally building my AT-AT as I type this). I just saw a post that mentions prices and set numbers for Summer and Fall sets. Isn't it a little too soon for those to come out or is this ordinary and it's the more specific rumors that come out at a later date? -

I guess I'm a little confused as to the complaints about the prices. I mean yeah, prices going up is never a great thing but it's unrealistic to think it won't. Originally Battle Packs started at $9.99 in 2007. In 2008 it was bumped to $11.99. 2011 it was $12.99. It was like that till 2017 when it jumped to $14.99 and now finally in 2021 it is going to $19.99. These Accessory Sets prices make sense compared to Battle Packs that they seem to be making sure are separate from the accessory packs and all the current ones seem to have very detailed and new designs to the figures so I see no issues. *Cough* Wish they'd bring back the Taun-Taun mold *cough cough* I'm not a huge fan of the new mixed/hybrid designs of the clones but I can learn to love them. The most exciting thing to me is that TLC seems to be making a theme of really matching things together within the sets. The AT-AT, AT-ST, Battle Pack and Accessory Packs. Next year is the 20th anniversary of AOTC and has the potential to bring back a lot of prequel sets a lot of people have been wanting and this accessory pack could be the beginning of it. I do hope they include a new Clone Pilot though to help make up that little blunder with the UCS Gunship. -

People were waiting outside the mall at Washington Square in Portland starting at 4 in the morning and it didn't open until I believe 10am. I might try my luck again online and if that doesn't work I might just have to wait till a second wave. -

Everyone here arguing about the face prints and I'm just over here sad that they no longer have cloth kamas and are sticking with the printed ones. Other than that I'm in absolute awe of the set. Everything I expected it to be and more and with the rumored sets that seem to be tagging along with this, it definitely gives me hope that we might see something similar to future UCS sets as well. -

Is.... Is this real life? Is this a dream? Actual 187th troopers?! I don't think I've ever been so excited for a rumor.
