Then where did you get all those Atlantis pieces for your Ackbar vehicles? Got me! I wrote I also had a lot of parts, right? I bought a big bag of parts by someone giving up his collection. Most of the parts were Atlantis, but I don't know the sets and I haven't bought them as sets. Lots of cool parts, though! Of the sets I've purchased myself, all of them is SW. Except Emerald.

I guess close to 99% is SW if you are counting official sets... The only non-SW set I own is "Emerald Night". Then, of course, I have a lot of bricks from elsewhere...

This is an interesting topic. Of the later bigger SW-sets, the UCS Super Star Destroyer, Tantive IV and the UCS Lambda Shuttle, were must-buys for me. But I’ve always hesitated about the Death Star. First, I prefer the sets to be as movie accurate as possible. I’m also an adult collector so I use my LEGO for display, playsets don’t interest me as much. Therefore I always been more into space ships and minifigs rather than playsets. The Death Star mixes from Episode IV and IV and is essentially a playset. And a really expensive one. But I must admit it can look great as display (as shown in this topic) and it also holds some great minifigs and scenes. But as I said, I always hesitated about this. Was very close buying it a couple of times, going through an order process just to close down before hitting that “Submit order”-button. Since I had so many opportunities buying it, yet have not, I have come to peace with that this set is not for me.

Agree with this! And the fact that I want to display my sets, which isn't possible when the collection grows... After all these years I actually feel a bit tired when I look at the 2012 lineup… Star Wars Lego is still developing, when will it end…? But hey, I’m a collector and will probably buy most of the 2012 sets anyway!

I can only agree with the rest - lovely microscale. Instant recognizable scene and that must be the smallest yet very accurate AT-AT's I've ever seen. Those droid arms as legs are perfect in both angel and shape - great idea.

I agree with the rest - AMAZING MOC! I especially like the use of grill bricks creating great texture on the wing as well as the interior. And the cannons on the wings is another very clever detail. Keep it up!

What a way to dispay the Falcon! FANTASTIC

Very cool and highly original! Great MOC

Great idea and clever intestines . Haven't seen this scene in a MOC before.

Great MOC! The trans-green inclusion gives a really unique touch.

Very nice So cool and cute figs. Dengars' bandaged head is awesome.

I vote for 8038 The Battle Of Endor as well! It's really a great set. Lots of minifigs, a nice build, a great finished model, some cool vehicles and a lot of play value. 10188 Death Star is great as well, but... ...very expensive. I can also recommend 8089 Hoth Wampa Cave. A nice ship, a skeleton, an ice cave, some ribs and a snow monster - what more can anyone ask for???

Excellent use of a cup for Han's blaster!

Interesting post! I’m a bit worried as well. The 10188 Death Star is not a real UCS, just a really cool big bad playset. The miniature bridge in the SSD can be a sign of TLG trying to include playset features into the USC models. I really don’t like that development, which blur the line between official sets and UCS’s. I guess I’m kind of a purist when it comes to UCS’s... About the 10215, I must admit it is a really great set (bought it when the price dropped, of course). A fun build and the final result looks great. It has some vey UCS-ish features like a smashing cockpit interior, some interesting building techniques and of course the display stand (and NO play features). I usually only buy OT but I think this ship is a worthy member of the UCS series. And I agree with StoutFiles, there will probably be more PT/CW USC-sets. But I’m afraid that the development is towards including more and more play features in those.

Impressive... Most impressive! A fantastic creation and you really nailed a unique shape and design. And one of the coolest use of droid heads I've ever seen

Great review! Now I want this! Suggestions any one, shall I get this one or the new SSD 10221? I usually don't buy playsets and had decided on 10221, but this Death Star is really something...

An amazing review!!! Fantastic photos and great coverage, step by step covering just about everything including a comparison to the studio model. Great job The model itself is well worth buying, I think TLG did a good job. Many great details, and it's a powerful model. The only issue I have with this set is the cockpit. The scale and shape is a bit odd and the upper part with its grey-bley-white-ish colour isn't the best. If the upper part was clear white as the rest, it would instantly look a lot better. Still, it's a must have for a OT collector as me.

Fantastic review! Comprehensive, informative and funny! Just great I really think this is a good set as well. The walker is really stable (those posing photos in the review was awesome!) and looks great.

This is the best MOC I've ever seen. I'm speechless.

FANTASTIC! Amazing greeble and the size of the beast is really impressive!
-
Very, very nice! A classic scene and this is actually the first MOC I've seen of it.

WOW! That van looks absolutely amazing. It just might be my second non-Star Wars buy ever (after Emerald Night 10194).

[REVIEW] 7962 Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
Ackbar replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Finally put this set together! And I clicked the "outstanding"-button! For Sebulbas pod racer and the minifigs. The stickers are really annoying though, especially on Anakins pod. -
Well, congrats to the buy!!! Don't know if I would call it a bargain, but it is certainly a reasonable price if everything is complete and in good condition. I think I would buy it for that price without hesitation anyway

I will join the WOW! Really amazing collection and a great web page as well
