LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Glad you mentioned this. Most people don't take this into consideration. When people discuss how inflation affects sets, the size of pieces also need to be taken into account. Back in the day there were many large parts that Lego made that went into sets that may have appeared to have a poor price to piece ratio, however they ended up being more scalable as a result. Needless to say, I think we can all agree that AT-RT would have benefited from them decreasing the piece count/size. :P That would be an interesting way of utilizing it. Still was hoping for a Rex/Cody minifigure in that set or at least Anakin's interceptor (especially considering the price of it, which I'm still baffled by), but for the sake of army building it could work. Perhaps like the 501st set, it could include a clone or two to match the inverse of the two droids included. -

For those wondering, the Jet Trooper appears in Season 5, episode 8 and is a generic variant, so +1 for army building: -

Clearly that list is a fanmade list. Nothing about it seems like an actual replication of Lego's current marketing strategy. Now, with that being dismissed, lets move on from wishlists before an admin says otherwise... As for Cloud City, I am seeing that Lando figure pop up again with people still thinking its the actual figure. It's still the one from a couple years back with the stormtrooper by its side and everything. So far we only have the leaks of the cloud car driver, the Ugnaught, and a potentially the Boba Fett, although I have my doubts about that one... -

Should only be a matter of time before we get the actual leak though! Very excited with this build up. -

That is a possibility. The minifigures discussed vs what we got: Obi-Wan Clone Wars vs Old Ben Plo Koon vs Imperial Pilot Rex vs Dark Shoulder Sandtrooper Cody vs Orange Shoulder Sandtrooper V-19 Pilot vs R2-D2 The problem is the description of Plo Koon was very specific when the set was leaked. I recall them saying it was distinctively a harder mold vs the rubber mold we've had in past sets. Also, not sure how the pilot could be changed for R2 from a visual perspective. I have a hunch that this set may still be a possibility in the future, but without an actual set number to back it up, I'm not entirely sure. It could end up like the Sandspeeder and come out of nowhere, but in the mean time, I'm going to just say it is more of a wild rumor. -

Actually, funny story about that. I went with a friend today who SERIOUSLY thought that Han Solo was supposed to die in Solo... no joke xD So, the Porg looks, well, like a Porg. Not a set I'll be getting, but that's in the same reasoning that I'm not getting the Snoke Throneroom set. I'm still hoping the V-19 gets released at some point. Shame the TIE Interceptor is also not coming out, but I think the release of the Landing Craft is welcome. I'm basically really excited for the X-Wing, Anakin's Starfighter and Cloud City. -

Possibly. It's just like the droid head for the yellow astromic. Lego did the same thing with the new Batman minifig coming in that remote control batmobile. They had displayed an older variant of batman at this event, but the box art showed a new version. When they were asked on Facebook, they insisted that the torso they showed at this event was right (the old one). Lego's reps need to get their team on the same page when it comes to displaying figures. -

Now THAT is a surprise! Not an Interceptor, but the design on it is excellent! I'll definitely be getting it. I also really like this Hoth set as well! Also! The Advent Calendar images are also out! Looks like Merrick is included with a hairpiece and a Snowman has his helmet... which is THE CLASSIC REBEL PILOT VARIANT?! ._. What's the point of creating a new helmet mold if they don't even use it for other figures with the exact same kind of helmet in other sets?! -

August is still Summer. We don't get Fall until September. However, Lego's releases may correspond to a season that is part of a majority of months of release. -

Actually, nvm, just saw the video closely and saw Red 3 was the variant displayed at the event. It's not easy to see but its where it is supposed to be on the wing. It looks great! I'd say the worst set in this line is definitely the Sandcrawler. I'm actually shocked to see that Anakin's Starfighter is listed as a $20 set! Last time we had a starfighter in that size, it was listed for $30. Heck, even the Jedi Interceptors were like $25 from what I recall. This is going to be great alongside the current Obi-Wan Starfigher with Hyperdrive. -

Does anyone know when the rumored Walmart Exclusive Hoth set and the rumored Tie Interceptor are supposed to be released? Would it be June or August? Also, wondering about the X-Wing as to where we are supposed to put the modification pieces to identify it as Red 5 or Red 3 -

Also, based on the image, are we certain that it is a visor piece? I'm still not sure about it being a visor or just a print. -

Glad you thought of that as well. I think what they should have done was halted on sets that had the Rebel pilot minifigures for a period of time and then started them back up at least 9 months after Gold Leader's release or even have had his helmet to have been the first to change. This would have been a lot like the Han Solo hair change in the recent Death Star. Good going! -

Really? That's not good. How did you find out it was the same? This could pose an interesting situation for future sets... -

I'd DM you but I'm unable to with my current member status (still a new member with only 7 posts), but I suggest searching "Lego X-Wing" on Google within the past 24 hours and looking to what the results come up for Reddit. There you should see something... -

The X-Wing is looking very nice and by far the best X-Wing build they've designed outside of the UCS sets. I'm also very glad to see Biggs. Hoping the droid is R2-Q2 and not another R2-BHD. It's hard to tell, but if it is, it's about time. Down side is we'd have to wait for them to re-release pilots like Wedge and Dak in the new helmet mold which is kinda annoying. Gold Leader as well, which is a shame because they just released his new fig in the UCS Y-Wing. -

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! I ended up finding it from a certain user on Instagram. The hair piece with the face doesn't seem to look that great compared to the film. I own his face from the TIE Fighter, but I don't really see how any of the other heads would have worked that well for him. None the less, the torso and leg printing is great, so definitely not a minifig I completely look down on. -

Yep you're absolutely right, that Lando minifig floating around was indeed a custom. Meant to report on that a little while ago. I found the original image from a well rated seller on eBay who makes customs. Same exact image from the leaks. So I guess we can put that to rest here for anyone who still thinks it was legitimate. Needless to say, you are all right in saying that Cloud City is definitely a fully legitimate rumor for this October's UCS and anyone who says otherwise can report to the wishlists forum on what they wish weren't rumored to be coming out as Lego sets... :) I may have missed the original post, but where is it that this figure leaked? Flickr, Instagram, imgur? No need to link the actual source as I'll just find it myself if you don't mind telling me where. -

The Interceptor would be great, just kinda hoping they don't jump the prices up $10 from what the current TIE fighter is. Has everyone heard that Amazon appears to be getting Toys R Us exclusives? I wonder what that means for this potential TIE Interceptor... -

Oh wow, so LegoShop.com increased the price of it since launch in France? That's crazy! I know it reads 99,99€ for it right now. That's a real mess. None the less, if that is what France has it at right now, then I assume the US equivalent will be about the same price as $79.99. -

99,99€ for the X-Wing means it'll be the same price as what it is for Poe's X-Wing now, which would be a relief. -

Hey all, just to let you all know, I think MandRproductions is correct on this one. His sources have been proven reliable in the past, so I don't think he'd be off. But just as you all have said, take it with a grain of salt until we get more confirmations.
