LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
HutchProDucktions replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I own Tydirium and for the longest time it was one of my favorite sets. The interior space is quite nice compared to what is being released. All the minifigs are great as well, (including Endor Rex/Nik Sant, depending on if you believe that theory :P) Proportion wise it is also very good and it does not suffer the lower cockpit issue that the new one appears to have. The only complaint I had with it is the wing movability. It is hard to lower the wings without accidently firing the spring shooters and it isn't very smooth in the way they are lowered. Other than that, I would say go for Tyderium over the new one unless it is outrageously overpriced. -

Anyone heard anything on what that $30 store exclusive set is supposed to be yet? -

I just checked and you are right! Thats very strange. Could this mean it was only available via pre-order and now won't be sold? It isn't event listed as sold-out. Its actually error 404 when you go to the original page. This could also be because of the renaming the ship because of that copyright issue. Amazon still has it up for pre-order though. -

So anyone know where the new Final Dual set is supposed to be exclusive to? I thought it would be Amazon or Target, but it appears neither have listed it. -

They definitely did impose a restriction after release. Apparently Australia had a limit of 15! It sold out within 10 minutes. I am curious about whether the 501st packs will hit the U.S. this evening. They are the only new set simply marked "Coming Soon" with the description saying "new for August 2020", although that may be generic for all regions. -

It seemed like it had a shorter lifespan than sets that did terribly like the Hoth UCS set. Its an incredible set and was a real step up from the original which was also very good. My guess is it was the $350 price point. That's just a lot of money for any Lego set. I mean, think in terms of 501st battlepacks... you'd be able to purchase 11 and still have $20 left over. However, the deal you mentioned for $175 would have been a real steal! Where was it offering it for that low? -

No, its not 100% deconfirmed since we have yet to see a hq leak. Reliable leakers have stated it isn't him, but those same leakers were wrong about the 501st battlepack by stating it wasn't a 501st battlepack, so there is still hope. We really won't know until hq leaks though. -

That is a good way to think of it. It would be easier for people to get the figure that way. The price point seems spot on to what it should be. -

You wouldn't happen to know if anyone has a size comparison of the previoust AT-AT with the current AT-STs from Rogue One onward? I wanted to see if their upscale would have anything to do with why the legs are longer with the AT-AT. -

Its possible for ya'll. As for the U.S., a Reddit user who called Lego customer service discovered there sadly won't be any discount offers for us. Not sure how much credibility I'd give to a Reddit user, but considering we haven't had any discounts, I believe him to be correct. I think @jdubbs explanation makes the most sense as to why that is. Ah well, perhaps Force Friday will be different for us. -

Haha, very true. That set will end up retiring with like 1 or 2 10% off or less discounts in its history. Thank goodness. That's probably why it wasn't up for very long. Someone was probably trying to make it seem legitimate. Still hope for Rex! -

Thanks for the response! Heres to being hopeful for May. As for your hunch about Cody and Vaughn both having the same helmet mold, I could definitely see it. Lego really should consider that mold anyway. Plenty of already established Phase II Clone commanders have that helmet mold outside of Cody as well and could make a great inclusion to any upcoming clone battlepacks. -

Anyone have any clue when we could most likely see leaks for the AAT, AT-AT and Interceptor since they should be out in August? -

Just saw. After comparing to her appearance, Ahsoka doesn't have pockets on her legs like this has and the torso would have most likely had a belt. The bag is unfamiliar from the story also so I'm thinking this is most likely for some Lego City set. Then again, Thrawn wasn't accurate when they released his minifig, but rather pulled from his prototype. Ahsoka's prototype from the walkabout arc may have not have had the belt and could have had pants pockets and a bag. I'm hoping that if we do get an Ahsoka it is based on the finale version, but who knows. -

Ah, but it would give them another chance to make one proportionally accurate xD -

Hey! That's not a bad strategy. Perhaps we may be seeing that with the way we still got a couple of nameless character battlepack series with the Mandalorian and ROS and this summer 501st one being the specialized one. We'll have to wait and see what the future holds. -

The invisible hand duel would be a really good idea. I personally would like and Anakin with more of a smirk like his Clone Wars figure or his 2014 interceptor, but without the dreaded headpiece. -

Yes you are exactly right, it is very odd. The one from 2007 is roughly the same size as the one from 2014, so the size comparison you see is definitely significant. The interceptors are just small. I mean, they are supposed to be, but for $30 it just seems out there unless they are planning to include some other minifigures. Then again, we did just get a $30 landspeeder... The other annoying thing about it is we will most likely get another Anakin with headset. Its been a very long time since we got an Episode III Anakin without a headset or sith eyes. In fact, I think the only times we got that were in the original mustafar duel and the Palpatine arrest set. I guess its hard to come up with a set that he doesn't have either of those two faces considering his remaining scenes in ROTS are mostly dialogue, but with them doing more Clone Wars sets like they did with his starfighter a couple years ago (which he didn't even use the headset with in the first place...) I'd like to see a normal Anakin Skywalker face. -

I hope I'm wrong, but isn't it supposed to be $30? I just remember the previous two being $25, which is why I'm at least hoping that they'll increase the figs included to have more characters. Even so, $25 I found a lot for a design as small as the interceptor and was pleased with the $20 price of his Clone Wars starfighter. Thanks for that great breakdown! Makes me really hopeful of the new design. I agree, which is why I'm at least hoping they include additional figures. Really hoping so! -

Exactly, all but confirmed. It appears to be following the Tantive IV pattern like last year, which means an official confirmation isn't likely to happen until day of release so May the 4th or whenever it is supposed to be released. -

Agreed. People on this forum have been spot on over the years. High five to you all! The A-Wing minifig all but confirms it. Remember last year's May the 4th was the Tantive IV and pretty much no one saw it coming until the week it came out.
