  1. Here's an update. I've made the pauldrons a bit slimmer and I changed the connection point to a hinge at the middle of the upper arm rather than the blue pins. https://imgur.com/a/NFtig
  2. Definitely getting the impression that this is The Evil Dead Punisher. I love it.
  3. Here are my modifications. First, I made some modifications to the chest, torso, thighs and rear of the model. You can see those pictures here. I then modified the shoulders and upper arms, which you can see here. This was inspired by CX52J's initial design, although I went in a bit of a different direction. Here's a shot of where I'm at now. I need to order some 1x2 technic bricks in dark red in order to replace the blue pins with black ones, and I need a few extra parts to complete the pauldrons. I tried that last night, although I didn't take any pictures of it. The head that is 4 studs wide is way too small. The one that is included is six studs wide and is only a little bit too big. I think that a head that was 5 studs wide would be great, but unfortunately this doesn't actually exist.
  4. I've thought about that. My other issue is that the forward left and right vents are not level with rear ones. So even if the grills themselves were aligned, they would would be off-kilter. But that would mean re-engineering the rear panels somewhat, and I'm not sure I'm up for that.
  5. I haven't seen anyone mod this section yet. I've been kicking around a similar idea but I haven't have a chance to implement it yet. I've been monitoring this thread hoping that somebody would come up with something, but so far nothing yet.
  6. Interesting. Those are great reference photos! The CG SE version looks like it might have been the model that the set designers based the coloring on. I noticed in imgur gallery that the dark gray stripes only seem to be apparent on the underside of the mandibles. They're on both the left and right side, but only in some shots.
  7. I didn't realize how much I didn't like the dark bluish gray diagonal stripe on the front mandible until after I had built it. Seeing the pictures here with those pieces replaced with light bluish gray makes it look so much better. I'm not sure why that coloration was added to this design. I can't find any reference photos that show a darkened stripe there. It only serves to disguise the holes in the mandibles, which are an important distinguishing feature. Swapping out the DBG for LBG pieces here will probably be my first modification to the ship once it's complete, if I can even wait that long.
  8. I love the mods that people have made here. It's perfectly in keeping with the history of the Falcon. I'm still working on the factory build but I'm looking forward to being able to say that "I've made a lot of special modifications myself." Anyway, I signed up just to say thanks to efferman for the plans for the vertical stand. I've already ordered the parts for it. It looks like I'll be able to display the Falcon somewhere in my small apartment after all!
