  1. As said, this kind of queation falls under the 'Which set should I buy' thread. I'll move this one into LEGO General Discussion and News and they'll be merged in a short while, to allow Pythor to take notice.
  2. Happy Birthday my friend! Have a great day.

  4. You could check the PickABrick section (link so IT, but you can change the region to yours) on LEGO.com. I see they have black and tan legs, an all black torso and black head; nothing for tan torso and head, though.
  5. Are you aware the submission deadline expired last week and we are in the middle of the voting now?
  6. Thanks, Emperor Krulos. Indeed, Happy is the weak spot in this batch. The alternative for him would have been using a plain white or light grey torso; or making a decal, but then it wouldn't have been purist any more. I'm glad you like them, purpleparadox. I had to give a reminder myself when browsing through my torsos' collection to find a suitable one. Thank you, Bricktooth. I chose to recreate Happy's expression of when he was beaten by Natasha, so he's not happy at all! The torso I used for Yinsen is that of Arthur Weasley in the HP set 4840 The Burrow.
  7. Thanks, my friend. As many have stated, Iron Man is more or less the Marvel equivalent of DC's Batman (billionaire, no super powers, high tech gear, ...), so I think you can appreciate him more than some other Marvel characters. As promised, here are some Iron Man figs I made and that may appear in future MOCs.
  8. Let me introduce some purist custom figs I created from the Iron Man films universe. Some of these already appeared in my recent MOC Stark Workshop. Let's start off with Tony Stark: As you see I used the Capt. Jack Sparrow head to give him shadows under the eyes, as portrayed at the beginning of Iron Man 2. Again, Tony Stark, this time in his boxer outfit: From the same scene, Happy Hogan, also in boxer outfit: I hope you like the choice of face, which seemed to fit him pretty well. The Atlantis shark-man torso was the best I could find to simulate his sweat stained T-shirt. Again from the same part of the film, the first introduction of Natasha Romanov a.k.a. Black Widow: I prefer this head to the one used by TLG in the Avengers line, as that one makes her look way too old (as already discussed ad libitum in this 6 months by AFOLs around the world). Finally, also from Iron Man 2, Pepper Pots, as seen at the beginning of the film: I think the hair choice works quite well, even if the ponytail should be a bit longer. As a sort of bonus, from the first Iron Man, Yinsen: I know the face makes him look grimier than usual, but I think it works nonetheless. More (James 'Rhodey' Rhodes, Agent Coulson and some others) may come in the more or less near future. Comments and criticisms are welcome.
  9. Maybe up-date the first post only next time, with a bold note to let us know you up-dated it.
  10. Thank you. I was going with some bigger screens, but they looked too bulky, so I changed to the ones you see. Can't wait to see you version! Thanks. I'll be posting some Iron Man figs in the MCW in a couple of days; maybe you're willing to wait for them? You're welcome. Thank you. Indeed, let's hope to get more of these lovely figs! I'll have to start saving for the next wave.
  11. I see. You could probably use the 'rulers' in word as a reference and re-size manually; or you could cut out the part you want in a photo editing program (there are some free on-line ones, too) and then insert that in word.
  12. Thank you. Indeed, I was expecting it too, so I thought I'd have to out-run the competitors! Thanks. I like to add little details to MOCs, and I think they work pretty well in this case. Of course, here you go: (links to a BS gallery with few more shots) Thank you. Thanks. I had to work a bit on the mk. 1, since I started with a brick built one, but it was too bulky compared to reference material and it would have put the display off balance. In the end, I realised the samurai armour could work just as good for it. Thank you. Indeed, I had some very nice times both building and playing with it. It's the now classic Minifig, Headgear Hair Short, Tousled with Side Part. Yes, I agree having Osborn near it would be a catastrophe; as would with a lot of other Marvel villains. I'm glad you like it. He's my favourite, too, especially from the Cinematic Universe. I'd love to see it, but I'm a bit scared price-wise. Thank you. I had the idea of introducing the cars mainly because of the hot-rod (which was easy to make, just modifying the one in this year's Robbers' Hideout); the other one, which should be something like a Hudson Hornet (I smell a Cars reference by Disney here) was more tricky. Thanks. Again, I'd be happy to see a Hall of Armours form TLG, but it would be either very reduced in size, or outrageously priced, I fear. Fingers crossed for at least a classic War Machine armour, and not only the Iron Patriot variant, though.

  17. Look under BRITAIN in the Great Pirate Torso Library.
  18. I started this build way before I finally got the Marvel sets to complete it, and it took me some more time to photograph it (having scaffoldings outside your windows cutting out the best light isn't funny, I grant you). I'm now happy to introduce you my LEGO rendition of Stark workshop from Iron Man 2. Disclaimer (not something I like to use, but some may want to be warned beforehand): the pictures descriptions include some minor details about the Iron Man 2 film. StarkWorkshop_007 di LuxorV, su Flickr I decided to include some of the cars and cycles shown in the film, as well as the criss-crossed testing area shown in the first Iron Man. I think this part of the workshop was re-designed in Iron Man 2, but I liked it and wanted to build it nevertheless. StarkWorkshop_003 di LuxorV, su Flickr I decided to go with Capt. Jack Sparrow's head in this shot because the shadows under the eyes fit with Tony's health problems at this time of the film. StarkWorkshop_004 di LuxorV, su Flickr The armours' display. The whole project started with this part as a smaller MOC. Then I decided to give it some more background. Notice the armours are part purist (mk. 1, mk. 2 and mk. 3) and part customised (mk. 4 has a Brickforge Space Marine armour painted and decorated). StarkWorkshop_005 di LuxorV, su Flickr How could I not include an armour assembling shot? Again, the mk. VI armour uses a Brickforge Space Marine armour painted and decorated. This gives a better look when the helmet is assembled as well, as it looks less dis-proportionate. You may also glimpse the empty slot in the armoury, where the mk. 2 was, since Rhodey took it at this point. Some more shots can be found in this BS gallery and in this Flickr set. Comments and criticisms are welcome.
  19. I knew I would miss at least one! Thanks for alerting me. This is why I prefer to let some days pass before the voting starts, btw, so people can double check.
  20. We have an interesting discussion on waterslide decal paper resources in the Index, along with many other interesting tools, tutorials and tips.
