My belief is that Lego toys has always been unisex. It has been a stereotype for a long time that Lego are meant for males. I believe TLG has made a firm stand on that by creating Friends. Lego is meant for all, young and old, and it is also educational.

On the contrary, I would rather trust my senses and use the dot code for verification. The dot codes I used from the link aren't accurate. In the end I ditched the dot codes and got all the minifigs I wanted.

After getting my 16 minifigures I would say I am pleased with the designs and the effort put into printing the minifigures. Which minifigure do you most like and least like? I like the Roman Soldier most because I can build my army and I least like the Space Galactic Girl because all the parts are not unique and have been used before in the previous series.

The bride reminds me of CMF Series 7. I might wait it out for Series 7 to be released before considering this set if I am going for the minifigures only. Overall this set is great, but I prefer it to be more lego-ish.

I don't see how it is a "controversy". It is more of a "Lego is too successful, let's create a scandal and boost our magazine sales" or maybe rival companies see TLG as a threat to their products so they plant these seeds of discord to stir up some "controversy". And why is it not a "controversy" when Lego ditched ABS plastic for rubber for some parts? or Lego "Made in China" low quality minifigures and parts? And dinosaurs/animals?And maybe this is all part of TLG marketing scheme to get people talking over their new products, after all they spent millions on advertising Friends; why not get people talking about Lego instead of Hasbro or Playmobil? Think about it, there is no hate out there for Friends products. Lego bricks are creative, and the limit is how creative one's mind can be. Lego has done a lot of research on what boys and girls look for in toys and people who do not like Friends are probably people TLG does not consider to be prospective buyers. I believe Lego wants to dominate children's market so the diversification of products. It is that simple. That is my take on the "controversy". Cheers.

Thank you for the review. Even though Y-wing looks a bit "technic-y" for my taste, I bought it anyway few days ago. Since Y-wing is "hard to find" I suppose, I grabbed it anyway lol.

Has anyone found the sudden transformation of the golden weapons into high tech. vehicles amusing? I mean this concept would be great for kids but seriously? lol.

This set is great, it will complement with my old City police collection. The details on the van are sweet, the rear view mirrors etc. Will definitely get this set. Thank you for the review. It allows me to have a closer look into the set.

Nice review. I like the accessories. Maybe next time you could cut away the extra minifigs that do not belong to the set or put it under a separate section.

I will definitely get this set. Great value, great minifigs, great colours. Since I missed out on the old batman sets, I am pleased that TLG remade them.
