an ice cube tray? what the...?
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to Hinckley's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, I myself am hoarding water for when the global water supply becomes undrinkable...you may laugh at those of us who prepare now, but soon all will beg for my water, ha ha ha ha ha! -
Sweet! Finally Lego opts for realism in its city line! I agree. I really hope they're small supplemental mini fig packs for the existing themes. The initial impression formed in my head when I read "lego" + "impulse" was of "creator" style sets.

And you thought ice-trays were a bad idea...
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to Athos's topic in General LEGO Discussion
WTF? Why make an extinguisher that is not even useful? I mean at least the ice cube tray could be used to make ice cubes. "Not for use on real fire." WHAT?? At least make a fire extinguisher that works on real fires, people! :-) -
When I saw this I started thinking about an islander Crocodile Dundee... "That's not a spear, this is a spear..."

Simply incredible ship. Bravo!! I am especially impressed with the rigging *y* and the great amount of detail. Btw, I really like the pirate's belt-simple but very effective.
-
Nice! Very "Black Pearlesque." I especially like the black sails, they give it an otherworldly feeling *y*
-
Good use of the police baseplate! Your army is quite nice *y* My only suggestion would be giving the infantry shakos. (But that's because I'm anal retentive :-)) I look forward to seeing the new additions.

I'm not crazy about the helmets; all of mine are very loose. I have less problem with the historical inaccuracy as much as the fact they can't stay on. I otherwise would not have a problem with the helmets. Of course, in my fantasy land of faeries and leprichauns I would have liked them to look like the Sutton Hoo helm or BrickForge's helm :-)
-
I like both; after much internal strife I voted for Soldiers. First, because I can use them for the French, Spanish, and Americans. Second, blue makes me happy :)

I agree with the sentiment such a line would not be especially appealing to Lego's target audience; too bad most consumers don't find history or mythology interesting. I would certainly buy them though, I like ancient mythology :-) . Even if the sets weren't that great I'd buy the small ones for useful Greco-Roman parts/minifigs.

Niiiiiiiice *sweet*! I really like the idea of a demonic stage coach...the black horses remind of a headless horseman sort of thing. This is a really great MOC; it really looks (to me) like an actual stagecoach *y* ; I especially fond of the shutters as doors, and the chains on the harness (they look kind of evil).

LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Bravo Brickminer! This is fantastic! I am particularly impressed with your locomotive; there is a lot of detail, I really like the cowcatcher and bell. The locomotive conveys a sense of power and really captures the feel of early engines *y* . The rolling stock and coaches are great. The station is simple and has the feel of a frontier station. The minifigs really add to the character of this MOC. -
PICTORIAL REVIEW: 6246 Crocodile Cage
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
This was my first pirate set, I believe. I was especially fond of the Islander fig; I also always enjoyed the inevitable pirate vs. crocodile conflict that existed with this set. For the good number of accessories and playability, I think its a 4 out of 5. -
I like that picture as well. As for the MOC, I would suggest an sloped roof.

Cool. I always liked Norrington; his death relatively early in AWE surprised me, I thought he'd feature more in the movie. And the twist is, now Beckett's a Darth Vaderesque cyborg :-D ! I've forgotten what it actually looked like in the first place by now :) Although I do remember thinking it at the time looked something like the Victory.
-
I like how you created your British soldier using the rubber band-simple but effective *y* . Same for the bayonet.
-
That was fast! Thank you very much!
-
Happy belated birthday!
-
Wow! This was really useful!

I think 7 is much too low a number anyway; there are far more than 7 wonders that deserve recognition.
-
Thanks SirNadroj! Nice vig *y*! Unbeknown to the heroes of Potc 3, Beckett survived the explosion. The East India company secretly rebuilt the Endeavour and now Beckett is once again patrolling the seas..this time, for revenge.... :-D
-
I am very impressed with your work Mosana! I was wondering if you would make Seven Years war era British infantry and highlander torsos?
-
Camelot! Camelot! it's only a model....
ZeekyBoogeyDoog replied to Norrington's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I remember seeing all the knights in a picture from Brick World. I'm don't who made these, but they're excellent. I hope this helps.
