My card arrived today (CAD). Pretty cool it has my name on the front. Got my falcon on the first day.

I think the 10% is also a way of discouraging people from returning and rebuying a Falcon during double VIP. You have 90 days to do a return. The 10% cancels out the VIP points you would earn. They probably also only want serious buyers so they don't end up with surplus stock, although I know their is a shortage. Originally I was going to wait for double VIP but after calling Lego they could not give me a clear answer if there would be stock. So I lined up and got mine by fluke. The person ahead of me could not pay because their ID did not match their credit card. I got the last one that day. Anyhow glad I did because I'm planning to build this with my dad throughout December and it's good to have on hand. We make a thing out of December now with the Star Wars movies. Cannot wait to build this.

When I purchased the MF I was told I could only return it was unopened, but with a 10% restocking fee. Pretty sure that was done to nullify returns during the upcoming double VIP promotion. Double VIP = 10%. I went for the MF on release day assuming it would it not be available during double VIP. I think that was a good call.

This didn't happen in the line I was in. Pretty sure multiple MFs went to the same household.

But then Lego would need to worry about Collections instead of letting the credit card providers deal with it.

The Black Card will be mailed to you since they will be personalized. They will have your name and existing VIP number, same as your existing card.

Yah totally. I keep thinking what is going to happen on Oct 1. I figure they would have stock coming out of their eyeballs in prep for the main release. Now it seems there will be minimal stock for the next little while.

Hi. This is my first post, but I have been reading the various comments here and in the 2017 thread. I've been waiting for a long time to have an opportunity to get a UCS falcon. I figured I would make an adventure out of it and go early and line up with all the hype. Thought it would be fun and get to meet some other AFOL. For the most part it was talking, but then people got nasty when it was learned there were only a handful of sets. Let's just say security had to be called, which was super awkward and really not in the spirit I was expecting. And some how racism got called into the mix. Not as much fun as I thougt it would be and I just kept to myself. Worst case I would get it later. But I felt the Lego manager really handed the situation to the best of their abilities. They had their marching orders and were consistent. I called them afterwards to tell them that because some customers were just down right nasty to them. Must have totally ruined their day and not their fault their stock wasn't sufficient. In terms of line I was the first person not to be guaranteed a set (#14 of 13 available sets) so that kind of sucked but for me it was still a cool experience aside from the drama. In the end I stuck around and it paid off. A customer ahead of me could not complete payment and I ended up snagging the last one (without wheels). So in the end it worked out but I think next time I'll just wait a few months and then order online. It definitely wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be.
