Does he build Castle-related worlds?

Awesomely Fab! Love the color.

Interesting - the 1930s would be a neat time period to build upon, especially in the Wild West. You've still got old Western Towns but they can incorporate more modern marvels (like automobiles and flight, as you've indicated). 6444 Outback Airstrip comes to my mind, a fantastic small/mid-sized Outback set. 1930s Pharaoh's Quest Airstrip (a Single MOC) I'm visualizing the 1950s movie, Bad Day at Black Rock- not exactly a western, but staged in the West post WWII (no airplanes though).

Excellent Angeli - a great world to build upon. If LEGO had been so elaborate back in the early Greyhawk days, I too may have been an AD&D builder. Lankhmar and Ravenloft/Barovia are two other worlds that I still have interest in seeing in LEGO - perhaps one day.

I've been looking at the wonderful Guilds of Historica creations recently as well as some other historic worlds that I've built over the years (Grave Stone, Mexican Village, Classic Town, Jungle Adventure, Ghost Train, etc.). It got me thinking, and not just applicable to LEGO Historic Theme fans (but probably more prevalent), do you find yourself creating LEGO Worlds or are you a single MOC builder? By single MOC, I mean simply one Castle or creation vs. an expanded set of creations for a complete Medieval Village or collection of MOCs (LEGO World). Similarly, interest in a single theme may have a direct impact on what you build and desire to create a World vs. a MOC. While I enjoy the single build at times, personally, I find myself creating LEGO Worlds inhabited by characters who with backstories, come to life in a myth of historic legends and story. Are you a LEGO World builder and do you enjoy expanding your creations "beyond the build" with story and myths? I'd be interested in hearing your perspectives. Although not about Grave Stone or specific to Wild West, one of my many LEGO worlds, Grave Stone, to help illustrate: Ghost Train, part of a collection of creations centering on the LEGO Wild West World of Grave Stone

Not a problem DD. I had to search for it to find (I think it was on the 2nd page). I appreciate you posting the image. I do like that black cowcatcher.

Impressive Steinkopf. I really like these Swiss railcars and your design looks fantastic. I was watching an episode of Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew mysteries (from the late 70s/early 80s) last night. It was called Mystery on Avalanche Express. The characters were aboard a train from Hungary to Austria (passing through Switzerland) and the rail car looked surprisingly similar to this. In any case, I like the green which just looks good for this type of railcar. I also notice that you popped on that 9V motor demonstrating how easy 9V was to use, a huge advantage when building trains not requiring big wheels. The luggage compartment sounds neat and it looks like the top can lift off easily. I'd love to see the interior if you have any more pictures. Do you plan to add any additional passenger cars? Overall, a great design!

I think I could appreciate it more with a better/right side-up picture.

Great shot DD - thanks for sharing. We've got a topic about the Ghost Train already started, so I've merged your topic with the existing discussion. I don't know about that face on the front of the boiler though - gives me a Thomas vibe. While I love trains and not to get the discussion off topic, I'm loving that castle.

Sometimes contests at Eurobricks are not just about building the most incredible MOC, especially of the LEGO Train variety. This past weekend, EB LEGO Train fans participated in a different type of contest based on photography. In a fun and entertaining topic called Maersk Madness, LEGO Maersk owners had the opportunity to photograph their official LEGO Maersk Train and share their image in a "most unique and interesting" photograph contest. As always, the quality of the entries were superb and after EB members cast their votes for best LEGO Train image, the winners were awarded an exclusive LEGO Maersk blue EB Train Tech tag. Congratulations to EB's LEGO Maersk Train photograph winners! First Place: Woolie (Night Shot) Second Place: Vlai23 (Mad Tea Party) Third Place: Wondermonkey (Beach Scene)

Hi Pencil. Welcome to EB and to Train Tech. Many of us share similar experiences is coming out of a long dark age period (for one reason or another). It's always great to get back into the hobby after many years. I hope you have a great time building with your little ones and feel free to share any of your LEGO Train MOCs with us down the road. Enjoy the forum!

Really nice. I'd love to see it in a complete layout.

Really good spirit L@GO and a great example of what this community is all about. Thanks for being an awesome sport and congratulating those that made the top three (and that's to all those that took some time to say nice job to our winners). This motivates me to have more contests in the future.

Zueri: I always enjoy seeing these types of layouts/scenes because it demonstrates what you can do by combining different sets (for those of us that don't do a lot of MOCing but like to leave official sets intact). The green cargo ship and crane is a perfect addition to your cargo terminal. Some blue baseplates for water would really look good for the harbor. Nice scene and thanks for sharing!

Hi Spanks. I see that you've already been around the forum for a while and hope you are enjoying Train Tech. Let us know how you like the Red Cargo Train. I haven't picked one up yet - it's a bit pricey. I really like the boxcar. Hi ET. Sounds like you've got some "oldies but goodies". Many would love to have a Metroliner. Please share some pictures of your layout down the road. I hope you enjoy Train Tech and don't be a stranger. Welcome!

That's okay - just goes to show that it's a great build and deserving of multi-site recognition.
