  1. Interesting and clever little creation. It reminds me of the old Pizza Delivery set; but with much better pizzas. Could I get a Canadian Bacon with Pinapple please? Nice job!
  2. I love these little hint-type threads. A green bow is certainly interesting, and definately does not fit in well with the current Castle theme. Perhaps this is a hint for a new Castle faction.
  3. Rupi: I love your building style, esp. your vehicles. This little roadster is fantastic. I esp. like the colors and the white stripe running fown the middle. I blogged this yesterday after seeing it on Brickshelf. Great job!
  4. I ought to shoot you out of Grave Stone for saying that! I don't think all mills need a water or wind wheel, depending on the type of mill it is. I did create a different mill later in the collection with a water wheel - Putrid Creek Mill. There's also Whispering Windmill... Thanks Cap'n. Take a look at the hay used in Lego's new FARM set. No, I actually never built an interior to this one. As far as what haunts it, that's left up to the imagination.
  5. Yes - definately left out. A Castle Fig would have been a lot better than two Classic Space.
  6. That's an excellent guess - and a correct one at that. The only thing that you didn't mention was the fact that the yellow mountain is in Nebraska. Good job!
  7. I'm not sure if anyone will get it, but I always like stuff like this. I'll share the name of the song after a few comments.
  8. Strange that Lego offered two space men (although I like the black one). But just like the last set of classic figs, I think these sets aren't worth the price $$$. I could see paying a bit more for for some pieces of brick, but not for five figs. Thanks for sharing the picture and news though.
  9. For a long time now, I've been wanting to revisit my Ghost Town Grave Stone creations and edit the original set of images. Now that I've become better with my photo-editing skills, I've decided to look back at some of these earlier creations, using images that have not been shared before (at least some of them). My first one is this Haunted Mill inspired by a visit to a large fall display several years ago: EDIT: The Story: Alone in the outskirts of Grave Stone stands Sutter's Mill, long-since abandoned since the great gold rush. Two treasure seekers are venturing into the old mill in search of the lost map of the one-eyed prospector, Tex Grimwell. Rumor has it that old Tex found the "Mother Load" after years of searching in the desert sometime before going mad. He and his gold was never found but some say that he left a map to his discovery, hidden somewhere in Grave Stone. Strange lights have been seen near Sutter's Mill and some even say that the place is haunted. Others say that it would be best if Sutter's Mill was burned to the ground along with the horrible evil that lies in Grave Stone.
  10. KD: I've been looking forward to your Ghost Town creation for some time, always interested in how others visualize a certain theme/sub-theme. You've done a good jub at building/designing this LDD creation. First of all, I like the size which fits on half a baseplate. Of course if you were building the real thing, you'd want a tan baseplate to fit in with other WW creations. But given the spooky feel of the creation, grey doesn't look too bad at all. The fence and gate work very well reminding me of the style and color of Arkham Asylum, a very nice set. While I like the large tomb stones, I think these may have looked more realistic in grey (light or dark), but black is definately chilling. I like the size and design of the church, but I'm not sure about the use of the single black 3x4 slope over the door. I think it looks a bit out of place. Also, you might add one additional layer of bricks to the steeple, based on how the roof is almost taller or level with it. Overall; however, I think it came out very well. One can not have enough owls and other spooky critters when building Ghost Town creations, so I like that you've added a few owls. Bats would also make a nice additions. Those cowboys need cowboy hats though, that I'm guessing aren't available in LDD. More skeletons, as mentioned above, would be fine as well. While I don't think the tree looks bad, it is a bit flat. I think you can easily have a few branches facing different directions that would really improve the design. I'm really bad at building trees myself, and don't usually try. Overall, this is a very nice creation, and the first Ghost Town MOC with LDD. Congratulations KD. I think you did a very good job at your first attempt. Here are a few links from my Graveyard and Church structures for compariosn (also a picture of the Spooky Shack that shows one of my trees built with extra pieces): Wild West Church Early Ghost Town Creation Shadow Chapel Spooky Shack Grave Stone Cemetery I should redo these pictures some time.
  11. I just had a Mystery Ship flashback . I actually picked up this set back when it was available, but never built it. I've always wondered what it looked like constructed. Thanks for the review Legomyeggo; and also welcome to Eurobricks. The ship is much longer than I thought. I just wish Lego had made it smaller and more along minifig scale (for playability). It's still a nice ship and the light blue makes a really great color. I tend to agree with you that it would make an interesting model for an office or display.
  12. I've always been a big fan of Cowboy Ballads and Country Pop, and have been wanting to build a few scenes related to these great story songs for some time. I draw a lot of inspiration from these songs, esp. when building Wild West-related creations, so I thought it would be neat to share a few but without the song title, so that some of you might guess the song. My first creation is pretty simple and there's a few things in/part of the picture that might help guess the song. I'll share the answer, but let a few people guess first.
  13. Yes, I was thinking the same. Perhaps is the use of the arches as opposed to straight windows. The Waltons farm house serves as a good inspiration image. Thanks KD. It's hard to get away from the Wild West design for someone who's created a lot of WW MOCs. It's those cypress trees. I have mixed views on the roof. I think the other roof design (1st creation) looks a bit European with the high roof. If I go with some tudor-styling, I may change the roof back.
  14. It's nice to see you build an actual structure out of bricks KD (as opposed to your terrific LDD creations). I think what really stands out for me is your interior detailing of the Farm House. The kitchen has that European/German feel to it with the wooden bench around the table. I like the oven and the cupboards. The dining room is equally nice with the China cabinet and grandfather clock (I really like the clock). The use of the faucet pieces for the dining room leg tables work very well and add some interest to the table. As far as the bedroom goes, I think the bed could benefit from some smooth tiles making it a bit more warm and cozy. Some additional colors might help as well. This is definately a large house that has potential for a Clue Mystery. I'd like to see your revised pictures as you work on more detailing and the suggestions that others have provided.
  15. Thanks Eti. I like this 2nd version much better. I was really trying to capture the Classic Town look, but I am considering redesigning the 2nd floor once again to add tudor-style design (if I have enough brown 1x X plates). Unfortunately, I only have four (one from the old Main Street set, and the others from Knight's Tournament x3 (383)).
  16. Farm would have made a great classic theme, but it's never to late to enjoy the theme. In regard to the lawn mower, it's just OK for me. But I love the stables. Ouch! I'm pretty critical myself, being a classic town fan, but I think this set is a great set - otherwise, I wouldn't have spend $90 (USD) on it. I actually like it a lot and think it's well done, even with a few large pieces. The large red roof pieces will serve as good parts for future MOCs. The only really large piece(s), aside from these, are the round silo pieces (and I like the new color), and the tan silo/crane pieces. These have been used for crane pieces for a long time. Children are missing. I agree with you here. Not exactly. I think they are intended to serve as gutters, but these particular pieces are longer. Also pictured are the bottom tips for the silo (that Brickmaster had asked to show):
  17. Thanks for the feedback guys. I wasn't satisfied with the awning in the front nor the red window section on the 2nd floor (as some of you mentioned). I've added a porch and changed the 2nd floor and roof. Still working, but I think this looks better:
  18. Definately a missing part in this set. Does the new Medieval Market have one? I need to look. Perhaps we'll see it resurface in a future Farm set.
  19. This is fantastic! I love the classic town/Divers style of the design. The little fish hatch in the back looks terrific. Great job on this!
  20. I had a similar issue with the Wild West Covered Wagon tarp. Low iron with a thin towel/dish cloth in between. Should do the trick - but be careful not to turn that heat up too much.
  21. Although the pictures are pretty dark, it looks like a great train platform, and pretty long. Is there any interior toward the middle section?
  22. Here are a few interior shots - nothing fancy: 1st Floor 2nd Floor
  23. B-RV-3D Inspired by the new Lego Farm 7637, I've been experimenting with some designs for a Farm House using similar colors. I'm still working on this a bit, as I'm not real happy with the awning over the front door, but here's my Farm House so far: EDIT: New Design Old Design
  24. Yes: While I like the idea of a farm house, I had mentioned a plow above. Some additional accessoriess, llike the ones you mentioned), would be an interesting addition. I suppose we need to get busy and create some MOCs for the tractor to pull. On a side note, that would make a fun contest (Create Something a Tractor Could Pull Contest) - it could just about be anything, and one wouldn't even need a tractor.
  25. All: You're very welcome. I really enjoyed sharing the review. It's also great to read your thoughts and opinions of this set. I think if you don't consider the price, you'll have more appreciation for the set. That reminds me (I'm glad you mentioned this): I almost forgot to share this great little scene pictured in the large instruction booklet. I love when Lego takes time to build/display scenes like this. They remind me of the old classic Lego catalogues:
