  1. These motors seem too slow, I'm afraid.. What if I used 2 M motors?
  2. Yes, it's a prototype, what would the advantage be with the L or XL motor?? I don't know anything
  3. I'm not in the mood of opening a new thread so I'm posting my video of my brand new 18 stud-wide four-door REMOTE CONTROL car baby! Finally my childhood dream came true! I'll improve it with new features, this is just a simple prototype, for me to learn how these things work.
  4. Video about my new white two-door hatchback
  5. I like the first one, nice sedan! Visit my thread, I have a thread on 6-wide minifig-scale cars similar to yours, but wider and with doors, hoods and trunks opening
  6. Video explaining how to "transform" the 3-in-1 red car (fastback > sedan > statio wagon) https://youtu.be/gpOlh8xmHHg
  7. New white 2-door hatchback the only one with engine so far: Black 4-door version - notice this is the first one to have been created gap-free from the start! The van was stretched a bit The old yellow station wagon is still gappy, because I don't have yellow panels. But the front and the roof have been improved
  8. You were right about the gaps, it is possible to fill them with those tiny panel pieces, so that the front door does not conflict with the rear door hinge bulge. Take a look, plus my new hatchback models White large sedan, now without door gap and with a B-column (middle column) the front was a bit changed too, the grille Red 3-in-1 model now gapless, here in the station wagon version: Blue fastback, gap-free baby

Did I post my old youtube video? Here it is

    Minifig-scale cars

    Thank you, I'll try that.
  11. You also have to wait a few more weeks/months until I get all the parts for the interiors, so far very spartan
  12. Yes the gaps are for easy opening of front doors. I have also built a version of the red fastback with no gap - but opening the front door was cumbersome. I don't know much about these forums, moderators are free to move this thread to Special Themes forum, I don't even know where that is.
  13. My current fleet of 5-wide cars below, they are all-opening (hoods/bonnets, all four doors, rear hatch/trunk door) they are all four-doors (when applicable, the minivan is 3 doors) and seek to emulate the look of standard regular family cars we see on the streets, I don't care much for fancy exotic cars, I am trying to specialized on dorky regular family production cars (mostly following a 70's or 80's design) Some of them are lacking an interior, some have an interior, but I am still waiting for parts to create the seats and panels and steering wheels, as of June 2018. Model 1 - "White 1972 Ford LTD" - November 2017 - my first 10-wide car, it emulates a typical large American sedan from the 70s. Model 2 - "Red 1986 Opel Kadett" - December 2017 - my second try went for a late 80's compact fastback European style car, that ended up looking a bit like a Kadett (with a hint at an Audi Quattro rear). I eventually created alternative sedan and station wagon rears for that red car, and these rears can still be easily switched, making the read fastback a 3-in-1 "transformer" model! I leave it in the sedan configuration now because I have a separate hatchback and a separate Model 3 - "Yellow 1981 Toyota Corona Station Wagon" looks a lot like a station wagon version of the Red Fastback, but with a higher, bulkier front and a longer rear. Model 4 - Blue Fastback - an almost exact copy of Model 2, made to look a bit simpler, like a base model. Model 5 - Tan-Brown minivan - just made it a few days ago and it's in early prototype stage, I intend to extend it 2 studs and make a better rear and roof. The red version of the fastback has a gray streak in the C column, ending at the corner roof slope There is also my 16-wide motorized remote controlled (all-opening) white sedan But I'll leave it for another thread!!!

    Minifig-scale cars

I am very new to the world of Lego, is it possible to market one's own Lego creations? I wouldn't mind making a few bucks off this new hobby. I am opening a new thread on my 10-wide cars, five models so far.
  15. Fantastic and excellent, I have alsways been a fan of Tatra (a rare thing in Brazil) and your model serves as inspiration for my large scale lego cars that I am now learning how to build.

I guess I'll open a new thread for the 10-wide cars, which are not minifig scale

    Minifig-scale cars

Improved red fastback & new yellow station wagon, all 10 wide four-door family cars - just waiting for next bricklink packages with parts in the right colors I suppose I have to make a new thread, since these are not minifig-scale cars anymore.

    Minifig-scale cars

I have lengthened the front by 1 stud and made a new front mask And a new modern European four-door red fastback / hatchback coupé for family and sports use (crude model, several parts missing/ wrong color)

    Minifig-scale cars

Tinkering with the front of the new 10-wide family sedan Quite complex SNOT there I didn't hate this front mask either: Another: But I'm not happy with any of the fronts, I guess I'm coming back to the original

    Minifig-scale cars

I don't know, I was just trying to do something "large scale" with whatever parts I had, I suppose it turned out to be a large American-style 70's sedan I increased its height by one plate and the rear by two plates, and made a better roof for this 10-wide 30-long white family four-door all-opening sedan/salloon car "vinyl roof" style: and I changed the rear optic mask as well, with a two-wide verticalized bumper:

    Minifig-scale cars

Prototype of a larger-scale white sedan with full-opening features, my first foray into larger scale. This model is 10 studs wide.
  25. There are many large wheel types in Lego but on Bricklink it's hard to estime their exact size and how they would look on a large scale car that I plan to build Can you recommend a good wheel type that is about 6 to 8 studs in diameter for a nice 12 to 14 stud wide passenger automobile? Thanks! Pics are very welcome to illustrate wheel sizes in actual Lego cars! Can anyone tell me which is this wheel type on Bricklink :
