  1. Ghost train was $69 at the City Target store in Perth. At least 10, maybe more.
  2. I'd love to grab one or two of the larger Pharaohs Quest sets if they were on sale. Haven't seen anything at Big W for a while so things are looking grim
  3. Grabbed the Vampire Castle set for $100 at Big W Mirrabooka in WA; there are about 5 or 6 sets left. I haven't seen it anywhere else, and its not on the Lego Shop anymore, so if anyone wants to get one now's the time.
  4. Whoah, that's a great price. Its on the Big W website for that as well; hope I can nab one in time:)
  5. I checked the site around 1.00am; things are already selling out. A couple of Kingdom sets I was thinking about getting were gone and the Black Pearl at $127 was gone too
  6. Very excited about this. I loved the detail of the modular sets but find the city setting a little boring. Something with a horror/halloween theme would be amazing
  7. Has anyone noticed any Kingdom sets for sale in Perth? Toyworld still seems to have them, but Kmart, Big W, Target etc seems to have gotten rid of all their stock
  8. What an amazing set Would anyone know if this signals the end of the Kingdom line for the time being? I remember reading a post here that said the Lego exclusives are usually the big send off, like with the Imperial Flagship and Medieval Market Village.
  9. Sadly I'll have to take the higher price at retail because I'm got terrible OCD about the condition of the box.
  10. K-Mart at Belmont, Perth has the following on sale: Mill Village Raid #7189 for $96, RRP $119.99 Dragon Prison #7187 for $28, RRP $34.99 Looks like they are trying to clear all the Kingdom sets, not just the earlier wave.
  11. I would LOVE a Forestmen theme. But I'd be content with anything that maintained the quality of the current line and steered away from fantasy elements like orcs or elves. A more nautical theme would be good, like Vikings. I don't know know about more middle eastern themes since it doesn't seem to fit the Kingdom line.
  12. This would be my ultimate dream set Just off the top of my head, sets could feature: 1) Vampires/Dracula 2) Werewolves 3) Frankenstein/Mad Scientist 4) Mummies 5) Headless Horseman Most of these are instantly recognisable, in the public domain, and I would assume pretty popular since their all constantly in pop-culture.
  13. Those are some great ideas! I hope Lego decides to stick to the less fantasy oriented sets, the current Kingdom set has been great. Personally, I'd love to see the return to the Forestmen theme.
  14. Not sure if this has been posted but King's Castle 7956 is on sale at Big W for $98. Also saw Prison Tower Rescue for $59. Both at the Midland store.
  15. And the Big W I was at had them dumped on the floor in a pile LOL Not exactly showing off an impressive product...
  16. Paid a visit to Big W Midland today. A ton of Pharaoh's quest sets. Also about 7 or 8 Imperial Shuttles but they were in appaling condition. They attached these anti-theft devices which are small circular beeper things, but the cord was wrapped around it so tight it cut into the boxes and absolutely ruined them. The point of these devices is to set off the alarm if someone tries to walk out with one right? How is someone going to smuggle the imperial shuttle out without someone spotting them? So stupid. Didn't see any new Kingdom sets; but they were all available at the local Toy World. No QAR either.
  17. I'm looking forward to a detailed look at the castle theme. So many interesting sets
  18. I've gone from zero Lego to 1. Brickbeard's Bounty 2. QAR 3. Imperial flagship in about a month. Now to keep my eye out for a) Black Sea Barracuda; and b) Skull Eye's Schooner I wonder what my chances are for a MISB for those sets? Depressingly expensive I think...
  19. Awesome! I enjoyed your pirate overview as well. Any plans for looking at some of the other themes?
  20. What an absolutely beautiful review I've recently resumed my interest in Lego, picking up QAR, Brickbeard's Bounty and the Imperial Flagship. One day I'll get my hands on this and I will be a very happy man!
  21. I prefer the 2009 pirate line to POTC. The colours on the POTC sets are so dull! The classic pirates had so much character and vibrancy.
  22. Success! Grabbed the Imperial Flagship from Myers Cannignton for $197. There are two more in stock; some slight shelf ware. I was there bright and early at 8.00am and I think I saw another adult Lego fan scoot in and grab something large, not sure what it was though, perhaps the bridge set? Good luck! EDIT: Don't forget your free Lego CLub ($20 value) membership! They are also giving away free carry bags.
  23. Do you any particular way of keeping MISB sets in good condition? I find if you stand them up, the contents deform the box. You can see this in shops with the larger modular sets. The blocks sink to the bottom and expand the cardboard. The Imperial Flagships I've seen at Myers were in terrible shape because of this. Does that happen to your larger sets?
  24. While I agree Lego is hardly a sound investment, I think it's fairly easy to predict which sets will command a high price in the future if in MISB condition. I would say the large, theme killer, sets from popular lines will be in high demand. The Imperial Flagship definitely. Possibly some of the Star Wars sets, the Death Star and the incoming Star Destroyer. But we are talking maybe a couple of hundred dollars on top of retail. Probably not worth it to keep a few massive boxes in perfect condition around the house:)
  25. 1. Brickbeard's Bounty 2. Queen Anne's Revenge 3. Imperial Flagship (pending... ) Keeping my eye out for some of the older sets.
