LEGO Ninjago 2025 Rumours and Discussion
Rolyat24 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Definitely a few interesting leaks there. Most exciting are the twin titan mechs, which I suppose explains why Lloyd got a remake this year. I was initially upset that the slot was used for Lloyd instead of Kai or Nya, but now I’m (probably) satisfied! I do hope this isn’t the end for the titan mechs. I’d love to see Arin, Sora, Wyldfyre, and Wu get one! Speaking of Wyldfyre, great to hear she’s getting a larger set! It sounds intriguing, can’t wait to see it. The biggest disappointment is definitely the Ultra Dragon Battle not being the actual Ultra Dragon. I’m sure the set will be beautiful, I just had my hopes up for an Epic Dragon Battle display including the Devourer. Maybe for the 20th!- 749 replies

It’s certainly interesting. As someone who skipped the last two X1’s, I’m curious to see if they’ll win me over this time! I expect the decision came from above that there needed to be a Kai vehicle around this price point, and the X1 might be the most iconic option. Certainly I’d prefer almost anything else, but if kids like the red cars then I can’t blame them. I have high hopes for the new Land Bounty. I bought the first one at a deep discount and actually found it kind of charming. If they can make improvements and/or take the design in a new enough direction, then I’m sure it could be a good set. Dragons Rising has yet to really let me down yet, so we’ll see.- 749 replies

I do think it would be difficult to do the Devourer justice in a playset. Dragons are relatively easy because they have legs and wings and neck(s) to make exciting poses and scenes. A snake is more difficult to capture both the range of motion while also making something that can be “sat up” in the way that the 2012 model was. If we do ever see it in a set, it might work better as a display/diorama build instead, aimed at older fans who have nostalgia for the first season. I’m not saying it’s impossible, and I’d like to be proven wrong, but it definitely presents new challenges not yet tackled in a satisfying way.- 749 replies

We know the Serpentine tail is still in production as of this year. I also think it’s likely that Pythor’s head is still around, considering how often he shows up. Add a couple of ZX ninja and Garmadon and you’d be set (really Garmadon should have four arms but that would require a new mold, and I could see them skimping out on that). Ideally we’d see a few other Serpentine as well. I think a good compromise would be a common mold that could be recolored and printed for each tribe, maybe for the likes of Mezmo and Chokun. Bonus points if it could also be used for Frak later down the line.- 749 replies

Since we’ve already had three location sets and one mech for the anniversary, I think it’s unlikely the final set is another building. I’m guessing it’ll either be a dragon or a vehicle of some sort. I’d welcome a Morro Dragon, Master Wu Dragon, or Titanium Dragon. Not sure which vehicles (if any) are iconic enough for a remake. Maybe Cole’s Tread Assault? I’d prefer something more obscure like Garmatron or the Ninjacopter, but everything so far (minus the Old Town) has been fairly iconic in Ninjago history.- 749 replies

We don’t have a description yet other than that it won’t be a city modular. There’s also a leaked minifigure list that can be found on Reddit: Young Wu Young Garmadon First Spinjitzu Master Faith Mystake Krux Acronix Garmadon Ed Wu Dr. Julien Harumi Jay Zane Postman Nya Cole Lloyd Kai Travel Agent Thief Loyalist x2- 749 replies

Plus Lloyd’s Titan Mech coming in March I believe. A supposed minifig list for the “Old Town” set has leaked. Not sure about the source, but if it’s true this could go down as one of the best lineups in Ninjago history. Again, I’m skeptical, especially considering it includes long awaited characters like Dr. Julien and the return of Krux, Acronix, Harumi, and others. Anyone have any insight as to whether or not it could be true? The wide variety would lead me to definitely think it’s another city modular, as the characters are truly all over the place.- 749 replies

The build looks incredible! So many fun details and a beautiful fully enclosed building! It seems they are also sparing no expense for the minifigs. This set has 5-6 completely unique figures (depending on if Wu is repeated elsewhere) and they all look amazing and fairly accurate to the source material. I’m glad they brought back Nya’s original hair and I would have liked Kai to get a similar treatment. And the anniversary figure is one I never expected to see in a real set. Definitely better than getting another round of golden ninja!- 749 replies

I honestly don’t mind the new mask, I think it’s an interesting take on the ZX ones without feeling too similar. But I’m not a fan of all 5 (6?) ninja having gold accents. Gold is overdone and really doesn’t look as good on Jay and Lloyd. I want to see the theme branch out more into silver or another metallic color. I do wonder what version(s) of Nya we’ll see. I’d imagine we’ll get a Samurai X remake in the anniversary display set. But in the blacksmith, maybe 2011 Nya? I could also see them just reusing the S1 suits or even just DR ones. My personal pick would be a reimagined ZX ninja suit for Nya, but that seems very unlikely.- 749 replies

I like the look of the Dragon of Life, although I wish it was a source dragon. As this is the largest set from the winter wave, I doubt we’ll also see a large dragon in summer 2026. That means at minimum there’d be a 3 year gap in source dragons. I’m guessing LEGO isn’t interested in making the rest, or the first one underperformed. It was recently on sale in the US… With the dragon’s hind legs being the color and texture of rock, I wonder if the dragon can strike a pose disguising it as a tree. That would explain the somewhat awkward wing position shown in this image. Otherwise it’s an odd coloring choice. I’ll have to wait and see how it looks in official images. I’m not super convinced by the new dragon forms for the ninja. Maybe it’s the dominance of the secondary colors, I’m not sure. The throwback ZX suits on the other hand are promising - especially with a fun new take on the 2012 hoods.- 749 replies

I could easily see the green tentacle minifigure as the poison monster, leaving the serpentine in some yet-to-be-leaked set. So far there lists sound very generous, but it’s surprising that neither Wyldfyre nor Ras is in any of the sets (so far) and Arin and Sora only appear once each. I’m assuming at least one of them will be in the Riyu set, but who knows. I’d like if the new ninja got more of a focus. And I’d certainly prefer them to get dragon suits too.- 749 replies

I know there’s almost no chance of ever getting a dark fortress remake, but wouldn’t that be so cool? The original set was one of my favorites in 2011, but its building techniques and size leave a lot to be desired. Imagine a huge remake with a full interior, rising drawbridge, and more accurate skeleton spider. Maybe I’ll have to moc my own someday.- 749 replies

I think I’m just in denial that SotFS was that long ago! You’re right, this does have the potential to be really large and detailed. I’m excited to see another large mech after Cole’s, even if I’d prefer a different character to get one. I would welcome an Akita minifigure, but I don’t want to get my hopes up. For now, I’ll assume just one mech pilot Lloyd and maybe an anniversary fig.- 749 replies

71860 is apparently an anniversary Lloyd’s Titan Mech with 1293 pieces. This seems like an odd choice, since 1) The original set isn’t all that old 2) It’ll be hard to top and 3) Nya and Kai still haven’t gotten a first Titan Mech. I’m hoping it’ll at least be different enough from the original to stand out. Maybe with some of the articulation included in Cole’s. I’d also like to see more than one minifigure, maybe a character from the Ice Chapter.- 749 replies

We don’t have any details for the set other than the supposed name and piece count. The latter points towards a city expansion, but the name doesn’t follow the conventions we’re used to. It could be preliminary and actually called Ninjago City Old Town or something like that. Or it could be a standalone set similar to Tournament Temple City.- 749 replies

I’ve been thinking about the anniversary minifigs, and here are my leading thoughts: Option 1: Some sort of metallic figs again. Maybe additional golden characters (although I admit that I can’t think of any beyond Garmadon, PIXAL, and maybe Pythor) or silver versions of the 6 ninja. I’d also like gold versions of iconic villains in general. Option 2: 2011 throwback minifigs, a la Star Wars 2019. It seems likely these will at least appear in the blacksmith shop, but I wouldn’t be very excited by a full line-up. Option 3: Missing characters or variants from the show. Star Wars did this recently, but they have many more characters to draw from. I’m not sure if kids would be super excited about Dr. Julien or Zane wearing an apron. Option 4: Missing variants of each ninja (as in, suits that exist in the flesh for other characters). Think ZX Nya, 2011 Lloyd, Prime Empire Zane, etc. I don’t see this as a realistic option, especially since they’d have to pull out a pretty obscure suit for Kai, such as Legacy 3 or the future gi from Possession. I think fans would love this, I just don’t see them bringing back old parts just for this kind of lineup. What do y'all think? Do any of these feel at all likely? What am I missing?- 749 replies

It’s definitely a cool looking piece. Even though I’m once again frustrated to see a lack of eye printing, I’m glad it fits in with the design of the recent serpentine factions without being too repetitive. Hoping for snake tails to match these ones. Fateful did say “Serpentine Generals” which I feel like implies tails.- 749 replies

This sounds like a great list, even if it’s once again very ninja vehicle-heavy. An armored Riyu is a great way to keep Riyu relevant without starting to feel too overdone. Hopefully he’s also a bit bigger, maybe with a new head. Of course the Dragon of Life is very exciting too. I wonder how it’ll stack up against the existing source dragon? I’m guessing around 2/3 of the size, given this is a January wave. I’m a big fan of the dragon ninja, but I’m also worried the suits will be limited to the OGs. It would be awesome to get the new cast in such a unique style, especially since we had the Crystalized dragon ninja relatively recently. It’s also a bit odd that none of the set names contain any reference to the new cast outside of Riyu. I wonder if they’re not testing as well with kids? The villains are interesting too, especially since they’re so distinct from one another. It’s giving MotM. I wonder if the monster forces are united, and if so who’s leading them. It’ll also be interesting to see how they’re handled in the summer wave without an obvious color palette swap like we’ve seen the last two years. Calling it now, “dragon Zane” is going to be brick-built, not unlike the Zane we got in this year’s combo mech. It would actually be pretty cool to one day get all of the ninja as fully brick-built dragons. The anniversary sets are a lot more intriguing. The blacksmith shop is a great choice, as it’s only ever been done once in 2011 and is the first scene of the whole franchise. I would love to see Samukai but something tells me that’s unlikely. Maybe just a generic skulkin would suffice. As for “The Old Town,” I have no idea, unless it’s a Ninjago City expansion. Considering it doesn’t follow the NC naming conventions, this would surprise me. But something like Jamanakai village feels so unlikely. Ninja Anniversary Display is a very generic name. Maybe something like a buildable logo? Golden weapons? Lloyd’s head wrap in the “helmet” style? None of those would interest me much. Finally, it’ll be fun to speculate about the anniversary figures. What’s everyone thinking?- 749 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2025 Rumours and Discussion
Rolyat24 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
At some point, LEGO decided that what kids want are ninja mechs, jets, bikes, and dragons. And I think that makes sense, children love colorful vehicles for their favorite characters from TV. Not to mention that the target age for most of these sets is younger than the theme itself. We adults may have ten Kai mechs, but each one is the first for a new set of kids. It’s a shame because I think we’d all love to see more villain-oriented sets. I was really hoping for the rumored “dark bounty,” fingers crossed we’ll get that eventually. Maybe if LEGO continues making Ninjago sets for an older audience we’ll see more diversity (but maybe not, seeing as the first two Legends sets are a green dragon and a Kai mech).- 749 replies

I don’t think there’s much of a question there. Dreamzzz is set to end next year, and its sets have gotten heavy discounts in recent waves. I don’t think that the theme is inherently worse, but I do think it’s selling worse due to a number of reasons (unknown to us). The summer wave looks great! The dragonians in this color scheme have really grown on me. They’re unique among an ever-growing list of Ninjago factions. The ninja designs are actually a weak point for me. I love the new armor, but the rest of the figs feel pretty generic. The Temple Bounty is beautiful and huge! I do wish the minifigure lineup were a bit more filled out. And it would have been awesome to get the rumored “dark bounty” to really set this apart. But I like the interior, the dragon, even the controversial sails. The Legends sets also look very cool. I’m still not sold on the dragon (why does it need to be a statue?) but it does look beautiful. The Fire Knight Mech at least can act as a regular mech, but (as always) I wish it were an official Titan mech. The Combat vehicle is interesting but not enough for a $100 purchase. Hoping Frak appears elsewhere, even without printed eyes. The mech rider dragon is a fun concept but looks a little wonky. Rontu is fine and if I end up buying Egalt this year I’ll probably pick up both. Overall, not the best wave, but there are enough standouts in here to keep me interested!- 749 replies

It seems strange that they wouldn’t prioritize adding joints that actually work. I’d assume most older Ninjago fans are used to having fully functional dragons that still look great on display. Why buy this and not last year’s source dragon? I think it looks great obviously (although the head feels too small) but it’s hard to get excited about such a static model. I’ll wait to see reviews before making a final call.- 749 replies

It is pretty wild that we’re seeing 2026 leaks already, even before the summer sets have been revealed. Do we know where these are from? Someone mentioned that one of the villain figs looks like Clouse. The other two are pretty monster-like. Maybe we’re getting a monster fighting season? Something like Ninjago x Scooby-Doo? I do love the dragon designs for the ninja, I hope all of the ninja get this treatment!- 749 replies

Frak’s head has leaked, and I must say I’m disappointed. Unless the eyes end up printed, the eyes and hood/mask being the same color doesn’t work. Lego used to print on specialized heads all the time, but now they seem so opposed to it. For something like the wolf masks or even generic army building serpentine I’d say it’s fine. But for a figure like Frak who is a major named character, this feels lazy. This bothered me with Aspheera and I thought a new piece would have resolved the issue. Maybe children in testing don’t care about characters with pupils?- 749 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2025 Rumours and Discussion
Rolyat24 replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I like the general look of these. Both Legends sets are super detailed and clearly designed to be a higher-quality product. The dragon is a little too humanoid for my liking, so I’m curious to see it from different angles. I also wonder if both are designed to be able to be removed from their stands or if they’re stuck in place. If they can’t be removed, then I definitely won’t consider the Fire Knight Mech to be Kai’s Titan mech. I’m still holding out some hope for one that matches the color scheme of the rest. The new bounty is also really cool. I like that it’s clearly still the same ship but is fairly unique among previous iterations. It is pricey though, so we’ll see if it ends up on my list. Lloyd’s jet/mech isn’t my cup of tea. The jet looks too much like it has two legs sticking out of it (because it does). I am a fan of the tiny skeleton dragon though. Maybe I’ll part out that model separately. Excited to see what else is in store, but looks like we’ve been spoiled already with some of the nicest/biggest sets leaking early.- 749 replies

We also got news about 71847 Guardian Dragon from fateful (1650 pieces, $149.99, releasing in June). It’s said to be “a diorama with a huge and detailed Lloyd’s dragon and a small temple on the rocks” and comes with two minifigures. I’m conflicted. I’m glad they’re acknowledging the older/adult audience with this, but I don’t like that it’s a dragon (speaking as someone who almost exclusively buys Ninjago dragons). Is this going to replace larger dragon playsets like the source dragon of motion? Will it be jointed and swooshable? I think I’d rather get a full playset with a ton of figures. I’m sure it’ll look great, and no doubt I’ll eat my words, but it makes me less excited. Interesting to see Twitchy Tim in the crossroads. Seems like TLG is still willing to make highly-desired figures from previous seasons, even if only from a few years back. Maybe there’s hope for more characters yet!- 749 replies
