Very nice. Your cart actually reminds me of an old Lego castle set. It was a cart too and used ladders on the sides too. Can't remember what it was called though.

Pretty nice set-up you have there.

demand of minifigs/how you build armies
Brickadier General replied to ajaxsuperclean's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Since I only deal with American Civil War, I can't really do anything but purchase them individually. I try to find a seller on bricklink who has a considerable quantity, and e-bay is a no-no for me since cavalry figs seem to go for a lot more there than on bricklink. If there was a Wild West Chess set other than that video game, believe me, I would have gotten a couple. -
WILD WEST: Good Western Figs
Brickadier General replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
With the exception of the torso, I think this fig from the Adventurers Orient Expedition line would work well for Chinese Laborers. Maybe for torsos some of these would work: -
Custom Strider figure
Brickadier General replied to Hinckley's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Right now, I can list a few. From Street Fighter, you have your staples like Ryu, Ken, Zangief, Chun Li, Dhaism, etc. Then there's Megaman, who wouldn't be too difficult I think. The Avatar face could work for the head, and for the helmet, I think you could get away with painting an "X-Wing pilot" helmet blue. I can think of a few more and look for pictures later, but now I have to go to class. :'-( -
Custom Strider figure
Brickadier General replied to Hinckley's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I really like it. Having played the games, however, I would suggest doing something different with the hair. His hair is brown, so I would either paint the hairpiece in some shade of brown or go with this arealight hairpiece. And as others have mentioned, he still needs a red bandana and blue pants. Sorry if I sound like I'm bashing on it, because I really do like it. The torso is perfect as it is, in my opinion and those are just minor changes I would suggest. P.S.: I think it would be really cool if you did other Capcom characters. :-) -
I have to go with Lagoon Lock-Up, because that was one of the earliest Lego System sets I remember owning. I had so much fun with it back then, and it still looks like a fantastic set today.

Are these... um... original Enlighten designs?
Brickadier General replied to papataz's topic in Community
Be careful what you wish for... Here's a link to a bigger picture. Anyway, while the Enlighten plane could technically be considered original it still has nearly the same exact feel of the old Lego planes, not to mention that a lot of the pieces in that set are identical copies of specialized lego parts. They have also done a military line in a somewhat similar fashion. But please, for the love of all that is holy, don't buy this crap. *n* -

That's not bad. Darn, I would have gotten it for that if I was aware of it when it came out. -
Wild West: Help Dusty Miller
Brickadier General replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Given the wide assortment of minifig heads that should be pretty easy. Lots of red-headed ones you could use. -
haha Well, I was just joking. I wouldn't think it would go over well there either. It looks like you've already sacrificed enough in the form of gray bricks. ;-)

My first bigger MOC on my first exhibition
Brickadier General replied to Holodoc's topic in LEGO Town
Very nice mini-scale MOC, Holodoc. And I use the term mini lightly for this one. :-D Very nice recreation of the real buildings too. -
LP Figures/sets - unproduced, prototypes, first versions
Brickadier General replied to Mazin's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'm sure if there are, there are pictures/sets archived away by the company. Might be a question for Gerhard Istok to tackle (He knows more about the history of Lego than anyone). -

Did you post in the Brickfilms.com formus? I'm sure you could get a lot of interest from there. -
The Lego TV Commercial Archive
Brickadier General replied to Brickadier General's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thanks L.O.P. and Pig. I will add them right away! Those'll bring the number to a grand total of 53 commercials -
Just saw your reference pics, and they are very nice representations.

I voted for you too. There are a lot of great models there, but I really enjoy your airship. It's a very unique "home" for your fig and has a lot of nice details, inside and out. Also, I really thought the bathtub with Harry Potter on steroids was quite comical. X-D May the force lead you to victory.

PICTORIAL REVIEW: 0148 Forbidden Cove (Enlighten version)
Brickadier General replied to swan45's topic in LEGO Pirates
I'll add a lil something here. Having bought Enlighten sets before, I'm not surprised that what you get inside the box differs from what's actually inside. However, the minifigs are more apropriate looking than ones in some of the sets I've seen (except for Redbeard in a Thong :-X ). The baseplate with the odd bottom is probably ripped off from another company, and that wouldn't surprise me as they seem to use copies of other "clone brick" company's parts in there sets. I found parts in their military line that are from the Oxford military line. -
Looks pretty cool, and I look forward to the finished film. His filming is nearly perfect, as far as stop motion is concerned. Outlaw was really good, and had decent voice overs to boot.

These are actually pretty good, even though I still prefer the good old "normal" legs. Also, I really like the use of the rebel trooper heads for military figures and didn't notice this topic before I posted mine. Great minds think alike. ;-) Also, do you have any pictures of the soldiers you based your models off of? I'm not that familiar with uniforms of the Napoleonic War and would be interested in seeing for comparison.

Hmmm...a LEGO Electric Chair.
Brickadier General replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I actually don't find this offensive. It doesn't seem to be any strange macabre fascination with death, but it looks more like a political statement. Art is a self expression that sometimes others find controversial. Besides, it's not like Charles Manson made this (even though there is a minifig of him in the manual pics). heh -
Wild West: Help Dusty Miller
Brickadier General replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
You could expand on the Indian sub-theme with cliff dwellings and apaches. Camp scenes would also be good for the western cavalry. For transcontinental railroad worker scenes you could have some of the figs be the Chinese Coolies. Some of the parts from the "Orient Expedition" sets would make this feasible. Maybe make a John Henry fig too. -
Very nice. I really liked how you emulated the light and shadow Serpent effect of the actual structure. But where's the human sacrifice? ;-)

johnny or Indy?
Brickadier General replied to hollisbrick's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I voted "can't decide," but the truth is I really like both equally. They both have different things to offer. J. Thundered ushered in the era of "new color" bricks with tan and had a lot of cool new pieces and minifigs. The sets were really fun and diverse including, Egypt, South America, the Far East, and even an Arthur Conan Doylesque "Lost World" theme. Since it was not under the constraints of licensing, Johnny Thunder seemed like he could end up anywhere. Indiana Jones is great too, for some of the reasons mentioned above. It's a great source of great new parts and minifigs. The sets are also designed very well, and are pretty faithful to the movies. It's almost like it's a worthy successor to Johnny Thunder. But with it being licensed, I'm not sure it will see a run of more than two years. There's only so much you can do with 4 movies, unless they tap into the Young Indiana Jones series. Plus, as time passes following the release of the 4th movie I think the appeal of such sets may wear off with the general public. It's popular, but not as much of a mega hit as Star Wars, with its expanded universe. I hate to say it, but I think that Indy will disappear after 2009. -
Brickarms LE WWII Medic on eBay
Brickadier General replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Wow, $41 already, and 7 days left. I won't be bidding, but this will be an interesting auction to watch. Let's start setting final bid predictions shall we? lol I'm going to guess $110. What did the original retail at? Edit: O.K., so I lied. I just bid on it, but only because I know I probably won't be winning. :-D
