  1. These are all great, and I'm liking Abe's head too. ;-) I just wish they made that hairpiece as a beard piece. It works really good.
  2. Without decals, it's going to be rough for sure. But as mentioned, a lot of the adventurer torsos should come in handy. For regular German infantry, the Max Villano torsos would probably work best, along with either dark grey kepis or brickarms helmets. Some of the Indy figs would work well too. Other than that, I can't think of too much else.
  3. Well, you can't be sure if you are getting 100% original pieces (more often than not, you won't). The real problem with sellers on e-bay is making sure all the pieces are there (I had a bad experience). Always ask the seller if the set is complete. Other than that, there's nothing wrong with buying sets from e-bay or bricklink. Edit: By the way, you probably should've posted this in the Lego General Discussion board, but I'm sure someone will move it. ;-)
  4. These are really nice. You put a lot of time and effort into them, and it really shows.
  5. Sweet fig, Benk. I've never played the game, but from the ads and artwork I've seen, this clearly looks like Max Payne.
  6. You are welcome Sinner. And I did see that video you posted and downloaded it. When I get some time (which has been in short supply the past few days) I'll see if I can post it to youtube.
  7. I have had 4 semesters of German in Middle/High School (1 each year), and right now, I'm in my 2nd semester at college. My guess is you are probably having trouble with sentence structure and maybe conjugation? The further I got in high school, the more trouble I had with stuff like sentence structure in past participle, but my college course has actually cleared a lot of that up for me. And I can attest that German music and media can help you. At least it helped me retain some more knowledge during my 5 years away from the language. I like German metal myself. I do like Rammstein, but as you've already mentioned them I will not delve into them. I like Oomph!, at least more of their more recent stuff, and they remind me a little bit of Disturbed, just a little bit though. The lead singer does have a very good voice. Eisbrecher is ok too. Kind of reminds me of Rammstein, with less focus on guitar and more on electronic. There is also a good song by a Finnish band, Apocalyptica (they play heavy metal on cellos) with a German female singer accompanying them (Marta something). It's called Wie weit (How far). I'm not familiar with much else, but there is this one German hip-hop/rap group I know of called Fettes Brot. I'm not really all that big on them, but some of their stuff is kind of catchy. I have not seen many German films, but I do own some that I can recommend. Run, Lola Run (Lola Rennt) is a good start. The Downfall (Der Untergang) is one of my favorite war movies, and is about the fall of Berlin. A lot of it takes place in the Fuerher Bunker. If you like history and sports, check out Olympia by the ever controversial Leni Riefenstahl, which chronicles the 1936 Olympic games in Berlin. There was an interesting 3 hour documentary about Riefenstahl called the Wonderful Horrible Life of Leni Riefenstahl that I would recommend watching if you get a chance.
  8. That would be cool if you ever do. Your red-exoforce hair would probably come quite in handy, and I think you could get away with doing his body in sand green and use of the troll/orc heads from the castle line. All you'd have to really worry about is decals for the torso and maybe the legs.
  9. Well, that will change for e-bay. Starting February 20th (at least I think that's the date), sellers will no longer be able to give buyers negative feedback, most likely for the reasons you've mentioned. I for one don't particularly care for it because there are buyers out there who are incompetent and do things like beat around the bush about payment for long periods of time (only had that once out of many sales). I don't do retaliatory negative feedback as a seller, but I will say that sometimes I feel pressured to leave positive as a buyer when I know I wasn't completely satisfied with the service I got. Either way, you can't win. Maybe Bricklink will eventually follow in e-bay's footsteps on this matter?
  10. Right after the color change happened I was pretty burned about it. But since then, I've come to tolerate Bley, and I don't think it's as horrible as I did during the first year of the change. I'll keep it and use it in MOCs, but I still like using the old grey too. In some circumstances, mixing them works for a great effect.
  11. Whoa, he looks especially kick-butt now, Hinckley! I wouldn't have thought of the new Anakin hair before, but it works great for this fig. And I think the bandanna looks great, but you could always do a custom face if you still don't like how it covers up some of the torso details. And I found some small images for examples of some Capcom characters that might be interesting to do. Left to right: Chun Li, Blanka, Ryu, Zangief, and Megaman.
  12. I think they are good if you spread them out and mix them with other MOC foliage. But you said you don't have many palms so that might be a problem. You could make some of the spruce trees taller by adding brown 1x1 bricks underneath them. If you have enough of those little "multi-leaf palms"(sorry, don't know the real name), you can make a pretty convincing tropical looking tree. Other than that, I think it would be cool if you added a native village with little huts and what not. Good luck with this project.
  13. That's a nice bustling, little town. It's very reminiscent of Town sets from the 80s and 90s. Keep it up SalvoBrick!
  14. That's funny, I thought everybody complained about having too many Police and Fire Fighters. ;-) I don't know if they'll be doing those town minifig packs ever again, but at Lego.com you can get that big lot of town minifigs for around $40 (if you don't know about it already, that is).
  15. I guess it depends on the size of the cannon. I found this picture, and the scale of that Lego one is similar with the one here.
  16. Yeah, that is an ugly color for that part, but I like the part itself too. I think it might be very useful in making cow catchers for steam engines.
  17. Very cool castle MOC, packed with a lot of detail. *y* But what is with all the scantily clad women? Are they running the joint?
  18. No need to apologize. Peeron is a useful tool too.
  19. Thanks man, that was really useful information. I just looked up the set on Brickshelf and checked out the part inventory. The part is called "Technic Wishbone Suspension Arm."
  20. Wow, they really do look very nice alongside each other.
  21. OK, so I was browsing about on Brickshelf and came across a fantastic cannon. My question though is, does anyone know what those elongated brown parts are called? I would really like to make some of these.
  22. Well, I have a bunch from buying used lots, and I was planning on giving them away. In my eyes, it's just a waste to throw them out. But to be honest, they could be useful in mountain building in making support beams. for the structure. That would be a good way to conserve Lego bricks for better projects. Out of sight and out of mind.
  23. Well, I heard they were planning on building one of those Discovery Centers in the U.S. (Illinois I think), so you might be able to get a chance some day.
