Just started. I work in the same complex as toyworld in shirley. so they generally look after me. Dayly serches for train and pirates in the lego section of trade me. Ebay whilst a little confussing is quite easy to get into. i load $100 on my paypall account a month and watch for good deals. NZ dosnt have many 2nd had type pawn shops that take in lego etc. i hear of people finding great deals that way. but over here in NZ it seams like a non existant market. certanly in chch, the pawnshop / cash converters dont touch lego.

Toyworld shirley and the new one in cranford street are being pretty awesome on pricing for us CHCH users. got the passenger train for $199 there the other week and 4 extra packs of track for $75. Hopefully they will be getting the new imperail galleon pirates boat. i want that so bad. and S@H just hurts with shipping. p.s. Got my hands on Brickbeards bounty and Shipwreck Hideout for my Bday. Pics for viewing pleasure. Since i cant see a review of Shipwreck Hideout i'll be doing one tomorrow.

My parents were the same. Im not much older than you. Though I have moved out of home. they came over for dinner and saw the spare room coverd in lego, "oh no not again" is a direct quote. At the moment im planning for my wedding to my Girl of the last 3 years. She is great she just asks me what lego sets i want for xmas and birthdays.

my advice, dont buy to many impulse sets as the Cannon battle imo is better value, as you get weapons for both mini figs whereas the pirate impulse has no weapons. And the cost of the pirate + solider impulse is 50c (NZD at least) more than cannon battle. getting my 9th and 10th canon battle this pay for my army builder.

I love the wooden masts. I often find i want a slim mast with out it feeling too fragile, the use of skewers really works well. esp when traditional lego masts are not high enough to achieve that sort of sale structure. I like how you have got the details correct by looking at real life small cats, and used that in the rudder assembly. Your creativity is very good. Two thumbs up for awesome creativity and thinking outside the square to make this MOC work for you.

Hey all. Work in progress, Brought the set off local version of EBAY, missing most of the cabin assembly. so I've rebuilt it as best as possible with pieces left over from my exoforce sets until i can stock up off bricklink. Comments welcome, I'm new to Pirate MoC

OMG WTB 20x Pirate impulse sets! Please let us know if you see any impulse.

I just rekitted out my Imperial Amarda Flagship. with a 4 gun ship (two each side) I like to have 2 gunners, Captain, 2-3 marines and a 1st mate up the rigging or in the crows nest. I see a basic crew of 4 is mandatory, + 2 minifigs for every mid section you use Its not a hard rule i follow but i think it gives the ship a complete, usable feel.

Sweet review. I shall now be looking for this set on ebay to satisfy my pirating needs.

Was in Kmart palms today. there shelves are looking a little bare. However going to the Warehouse northlands tomorrow and getting brickbeards bounty with my 25% off toys voucher.

Cant afford the game. But know a mate that has it? ask them very nicely to borrow there copy and also there steam account. Download steam, Log into there account, Install the game. Steam gives you a unique code for Multi player. Return the Game. Play till your sick of it. (also works for Dawn of war 2) Have been doing it at work, the 4 of us at my store all put in 25$ each, and have made a work (joint) steam account we can all log into and play. Reading the T&C it seams as this method doesn't fall foul of the games T&C, as nowhere it says steam is licensed to a single person. this of course leaves more money for lego.

Do kmart have the pirates shipwreck? I'm over northlands way so kmart palms and riccarton are out of my way, I noticed toy world didn't have it, but Warehouse did. Also i pop into toyworld tower junction a bit and they have i better selection than most. when i was working at tower junction after buying sets at admittedly full price for a few months they then started giving me staff discount. (20%) But farmers seam to have the most deals recently if your a farmers card holder, though not a huge range i picked up 5x pirates canon battle. Any body know of any NZ retailer stocking the pirates impulse sets? i needs me an army.

I concur my Partners Nail polish remover found its way into my lego toolkit.

sweet looking weapons & hat Somebody needs to design a bayonet to attach to the end of muskets and rifles. that way we can get some more stabby action going on.
