  1. Depends on what you are looking for ... I went there last summer. It was DKR 399 (~ EUR 55) for a strata box filled with less than 4 kg of parts taken from loose bags, and it was approx. four times more expensive in the pick a brick area. Compared with Legolang Guenzburg (EUR 8 per 100 gr) , it's still a bargain. You should ask a native !
  2. Johnny definitely ! The Adventurer theme is full of playable and cheap sets. Indy sets are very nice but far too expensive. Johnny can go everywhere but Indy is restricted by licence. No chance to see Indy in Jurrassic Park ! :-D
  3. Thanks for the review That seems to be a nice set but as far I'm concerned, I don't think it's worth EUR 49.99. There aren't so many parts though those new curved slope will add some more building possibilities. *y* What lacks : - A 2 x 4 cut out in the lower part of the nose to retract the landing gear. - A 4 x 6 cut out in the lower part of the tail to allow passagers to get off through the back like in a DC-10 - some real plates and tiles instead of these crappy wings. This part is the useless one that TLC ever produced *n*
  4. Touching ! That's like meeting a old acquaintance after so many years ... *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* In fact, more than a vintage, that' a must have ! *y* I got mine for Xmas '78. At that time, it was a quite huge and expensive set (approximately 42 EUR, less than 30 USD). We (with my elder brother) used to make the siege of the castle, building catapults with technic beams and rubbers to throw small balls of metal against the wall. We seldom broke a part (there were no panels at that time ... But yours is in a astonishingly good condition. My favorite knight was the templar *sing* Thanks a lot for these warming pictures ! People do own this castle to understand ... You are of the brotherhood, Sir nausicaakro. X-D
  5. Greaaat ! Just add a piano and give me the opening hours ! Play it again Sam, play "As time goes by"
  6. Thks for this caustic review :-D I'll wait for the parts on bricklink. I think you're a bit unfair with this small oversized submarine - oups sorry, I mean plane. Here are some advantages I tried to imagine : 1. that's the first submarine with a plane nose, 2. That's the first unprinted nose, 3. That's the first shark that make me laugh, and which has a plain white fin 4. And at last, you should have notice that that the first submarine with a wing made of several plates It is said that this set has more than 200 parts... Hide and seek ! X-D You may have lost several bags I'm eager that people buy this set a lot : I'd like to buy a lot of these new white 4x4x2 curved slope for my MOCs. Can you take a picture of the plane crashing in the sink ? Is it fire proof ? I think that will be too easy this year to decide what is the crap of year ...
  7. I've bought more than 100 lots from the US, HK and Australia. There are no (more) tax within EU. That's the seller that pay the tax in its country, whether he's a professionnal seller or not (depending on the amount of trade per year, the limit depending on its country). For shipments to EU, tax are on the buyer's charge. The buyer HAS TO declare the value and the quality (new/used) of goods. If not, customs can keep the parcel. And then there are two cases for parcels from the US: - either it's sent through UPS, DHL, etc. these companies SYSTEMATICALY ask for custom clearance certificate, so you have to pay tax (approximatically 25% of the amount, including shipping in France : 20% of VAT and 5% of fees). - or it's sent through USPS, and till now, I've never had to pay taxes (even for the 500 USD UCS Millenium Falcon). So just try with a small set on bricklink to test how poor your custom authorities are in your country *sing* So nice for these countries with a very weak currency (like US, former Soviet Union and Sierra Leone) :-P !
  8. The plane is nice but is all but a MiG 1 (firsts MiG got propellers). The heli seems a bit blocky.
  9. Huge ! Should add some VIP seats and lounge, a special spot for journalists and TV studio, lights, a special entrance for players, az giant TV screen ... and if its the stadium of a given team, say Legoland Football Team, you may use color to draw its acronym on sittings banks.
  10. Hey Colonel ! I do enjoy that TLG do put neither political nor religious symbol on its toys especialy for the fact it targets children. I don't mind you as an AFOL try to add nazi's or USSR's flag to your MOCs and share them on this thread and that said, you do a great job for those who are interested. Personnaly, LEGO models are not sharp enough in representing historical facts (uniforms, vehicules, etc...) in scaled size to need some swatiska on flags, train coachs, soldaten shoulders etc. *n* I do mind you compare gays and nazis, and feel a little bit sad with all of your comparisons and scale of value. It's not the number of victims that matters, its the reason for what they were killed. Remember Nazis (but I could also say red khmers, some tribes in africa, aso) carried on genocids and kill people only because they do exist. The very reason only a few might be offended is that most of those that could have been offended has been killed :-P Some of us protest and tell you their point of view, and you don't agree but you are still free to do it and share with others, so please, stay polite and respectful. X-D Hey martyr, if you really don't care about people offended, what about doing a MOC with Mahomet, Colonel ?
  11. He should also have tell you you'll make much more money if you had a sealed lego box in perfect condition ... :-D And I'm not sure that the price it costs to store empty box for several years (the room it takes and the time you waste to deal with that) is worth the extra value you can get. When buying second hand, that is when a MISB set is not available at a reasonable price, I do care about the used condition only. My first interest in Lego sets is the playability, and for some set, some of the parts. I only keep the building instructions, and, depending on the design of the box, some parts of the box. I never keep boxes of set that I have already bought once (like Hoth Base, Castle line, Adventurers or HP Knight bus), I'd fill a whole storage room every year.
  12. That's where half of nuclear weapons were build and what for millions of people (more than 40) died in the second half of the 20th. CCCP also launched the first human sattelite ... Do you know what is a book of history ? X-D That's for respect and memory. It's not just a "kind of stuff" but it must remain a symbol of horror. These vehicules are toys and there is nothing fun to put nazi symbols on it, especially if a large part of your family have died in nazi camps or under bombs. But I also can understand your point of view. |-/
  13. Very nice MOC ! I'm eager to see the whole diorama :-D
  14. I think a minifg would hardly seat in the heli, otherwise without arms. But it would fit in the boat : City sets too are on S@H
  15. In fact, pictures of Creator sets are on S@H X-D As usual, someone must have already post tehm in an other thread
  16. May be it has been already posted ... but I noticed pictures are already on S@H. http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-13-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-23-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-13-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-23-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-33-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-13-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-23-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-33-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-13-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-23-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-33-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-13-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-23-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-33-1.jpg http://assets.lego.com:80/images/shop/prod...000-xx-33-2.jpg...
  17. God (or the Emperor) bless you, Bonaparte. 1) Suggestions : you should swim with your Lego 2) Question : Are YOU de-yellowed ? :-D
  18. I'm quite astonished. I thought this forum was dedicated to fans of Lego ... *n* FAKE is not a problem of price, quality or avaibility. It's a problem of stealing ideas, and in case of Lego, good ideas. X-D Go on buying this trash and you would be sure that Lego will never reissue a new pirate line. What about creating new models if people are satisfied with cheap copies ? Another advice : Before playing with your fake, check its fully compliancy with EEC (or whatever your country) rules of safety : Your health is also cheaper in PRC :-P
  19. No, they are printed and won't be removed by water. But dont dry them with a hair dryer :'-(
  20. In fact, you still use the same stuff in a lower grade. To add water would have given the same solution ! :-P Since it is unstable and highly explosive :-X , sodium hypochlorite (NatriumHypochlorite) is NEVER commercially available in a pure state - especially (or may be) to protect people like you ! *skull*, but sometimes I really wonder why ... :-D It always comes as an aqueous solution ... commonly known as bleach (javel). As it is unstable, the grade is lowering as time goes by. In short, you should renew the bath from time to time.
  21. I'm working back on quite an old MOC - a vintage I would say We (with my elder brother) did it as a alternate model of two LEGOLAND Castles (#375, the 1978's one !) - I am know learning how to manage with ldraw and POV to get some nice building instructions of it. After that I will try to revamp it to include it in market street, as it is minifig scale |-/
  22. I got number 10,362 and I bought it in the US
  23. Those I bought at TRU had larger guns. :-( I called LEGO Direct since. They told me the factory had been short of small blaster. As they didn't want to release sets without blasters, they replace them with longer one. Of course, no pbm to send the smaller ones afterwards. *sweet* The same problem happened with Jabba's sail barge (plain tan plates 8 x 8 instead of ones with grill) and this set has never been withdraw from S@H. So I don't think that it has anything to do with HB issue.
  24. My daughter got her at TRU with sweets and this one :
  25. Doc and patient ? May be you are talking of this : Happy new year !
