  1. Well Phase I shinies are pretty iconic (probably the best thing to come out of Attack of The Clones and they're present for a good 75% of the Clone Wars) and we haven't had them in 4 or 5 years. It is strange that they continue to hold out on the long fabled 501st battlepack that fans have been consistently begging for battlepacks became a thing in 2007 and even more so after their notable arc in The Clone Wars, but I'm sure Lego have their reasons.
  2. TLJ Spoilers: In other news, I got clarification from the Brick Show. Apparently the battlepack has two plain Phase I troopers. Interesting choice, would have preferred a legion but you can never have enough shinies I guess. I wonder if we'll get something to put them into soon, like a new AT-TE or Gunship?
  3. Well the coast is clear for quite a while I think. They really sucked The Force Awakens dry and TLJ only has about 3 or 4 more things left they'd feasibly make sets out of, so I think after this summer wave presumably gets them out of the way it's going to be almost all Ep I - VI until late 2019, with the odd set thrown in from Solo/Rogue One/Rebels/The Clone Wars (something to celebrate the 10th anniversary maybe?).
  4. Damn, that makes me pretty jealous. I never minded my ducktroopers but when I actually look at them next to the FO Executioners I got, they look extremely jarring. This is like the the Phase I clone trooper transition all over again!
  5. It hasn't been abandoned, EA are "overhauling" it but as far as we know it's still in development and still being released.
  6. This is all known and readily available canon, but just in case anyone wants to go into the movie completely blind I guess I'll spoiler tag it:
  7. The Falcon looks absolutely delectable, and looks like it has a nice figure selection to boot. I've never splashed on one before, but depending on how I feel about the movie this might just be the one. TIE Fighter also looks great and seems to be accompanied by some very interesting figures. If we can get a TIE Interceptor and Bomber within the next year or two that'll finally be the entire complement of original trilogy starfighters given modern updates (Taking the B-Wing in 2014 as the starting point). I like the two speeders. A little boxy and probably wont end up very high on my agenda, but it's good that Han and the female lead are available in a cheap sets.
  8. So according to the Brick Show the Jedi in the battlepack will definitely be Barriss Offee and Ki-Adi Mundi. They also mentioned in a comment that, at least according to the image they have, the two troopers are both "plain". Not sure if they were looking at the same preliminary box art we've had for awhile now or the finished product though, iirc minifigs like clones generally don't have their final detailing in those types of prelim images if it's a new print. Either way I'd take plain phase II troopers. even if we don't see them in the movies.
  9. I think it's a bit of a weird one, I can see it not selling well with kids. It made perfect sense for a UCS set largely aimed at adults and die hard fans. While I think most OT sets will do well with kids and new/more casual fans regardless of whether they're actually very familiar with the now 40 year old trilogy or not because of the frequency with which lot of the vehicles/characters and show up in new Star Wars media and the generally cool aesthetic a lot of the vehicles have, the Sandcrawler doesn't quite fit the bill. It's kind of just a big brown block on tracks, kind of obscure in the larger scheme of things and it's going to be pretty expensive so it's a set a kid would really have to want. I can't imagine a lot of kids will be looking to choose it over the AT-M6, The FO Star Destroyer, Krennic's shuttle or the new Millenium Falcon from Solo.
  10. To be fair, I don't think he'd come here to defend himself and make a big deal of it if he was just out to do a hit 'n run clickbait job for youtube.
  11. I believe it's the three. We're currently in the midst of the usual Winter wave, the Solo sets are coming in April, and the usual Summer wave will follow.
  12. Prelim images show two clone gunners (the one from the Clone Fighter Tank) but I'd imagine that's just a placeholder. Well, I'd personally hope that's just a placeholder and at least one of them is either plain or has legion markings. It also comes with two Jedi.
  13. Do we know if the Han Solo sets will be included in the summer wave or if they'll be their own wave? Also the 501st buildable figure is encouraging, maybe we'll actually get that 501st battlepack some day...
  14. Small TLJ spoiler to do with the AT-ST: Anyway, all I'm really hoping for now out of TLJ is a blue leader A-Wing, Luke in his other outfits and maybe the luxury ship from Canto Bight.
  15. TLG's U-Wing really grew on me after I initially really didn't like it, but god it does look silly again in comparison to this beauty.
  16. Have you considered simply locking this thread and only updating it when mods are PM'd information, and creating a separate thread where people can discuss their opinions on the sets themselves and muse away about the future/what will happen during the year? I feel like doing at least the latter would solve what you've been complaining about for weeks now.
  17. Apologies yes, I mean rebels.
  18. I quite like Scariff bunker but: (Rogue One Spoilers)
  19. I'm actually pretty disappointed with it. Kind of looks like a microfighter of something more interesting, I really couldn't see it in-universe. Then again I am probably a bit spoiled with the quality of most battlepack set pieces these past few years. Loving the rebel pack though. Speeder is a lil stubby but the machine gun nest is awesome.
  20. Damn you're right actually, I forgot the Saber Tank wasn't even canon anymore! Still, nice to see more clone stuff, especially since I was just last night considering forking out the cash for the old one second hand. My guess is the Clone Commander will be Bly, who could also double as a regular Clone Commander anyway because of the colour scheme. Be interesting whether or not they include his visor or not, it's kind of his defining feature but the revised Phase II helmets don't accommodate for that.
  21. Bounty Hunter Battlepack? Surely not. I thought the whole point was army building so that's a weird move. First Order is also a little strange since there's one on the market right now but maybe there'll be a twist to this one that fits into Episode VIII? Verrry excited for the Fighter Tank and Jedi star fighter with hyper-ring. We haven't seen Obi's Delta 7 at regular set scale in what, 15 years? And the Ayala minifig along with a Clone Commander will be excellent. Nice to see they're refusing to let go of the Clone Wars, it was pretty much the only star wars we got for a 6 year period and imo there's still stuff to be explored and redone set wise.
  22. Nit picky, but I'm disappointed we're not getting this guy's helmet in the rebel battleback. The Hoth trooper hat and goggles doesn't look very fitting at all imo. I like the other new helmet though.
  23. 501st, plain Phase 1 Troopers (as in a proper set of 4, not that silly "X vs Y" stuff), plain Phase 2 Troopers...you'd have to wonder what exactly is stopping them? Do they think it'll cannibalize sales of other sets because it's just "too cool"? I can see them absolutely flying off of shelves a lot faster than something as obscure as shadow troopers or as plain as Resistance soldiers.
  24. Hmmm, fairly tempted to avail of the free A-Wing pilot offer and then just buy only the A-Wing Vehicle off of ebay or bricklink. Lando probably drove up the price a good bit so I wouldn't be very surprised to see vehicle to go for pretty cheap.
  25. I think a Tantive IV could be on the cards, or possibly the long rumoured Rebel Base. Everything else is kind of booked out. Mos Eisley is just retired and there's already a landspeeder, sandcrawler, Falcon, Death Star, 2 X-Wings, 4 different TIE fighters and a Y-Wing on or coming to the market.
