  1. Its a tad more complicated than that. but look I'm not going to argue the complexities of IP's and infringements and international law as you seem to have a very simplistic view on the matter. Just enjoy ya bricks and worry about important things
  2. Well that all comes down to international and local copyright laws, patents, IP's etc etc its not as black and white as you make it out to be sadly. I'm guessing that's why its going to take at least a year for Lego to take Lepin to court. give's both party's time to build cases etc It looks like it might be tough work for Lego to crack the clone market, but if they manage to get their hooks into Lepin, it might set precedence for all the other set and minifig clone company's, heck Warner Bros, Disney etc might start chasing people using their IP's on clone figs and sets also. could be a huge clean up.... But thank goodness that's what lawyers and courts are paid to sort out and decide on... I just play with plastic bricks :)
  3. Hahaha the first post for this thread is fantastic, this is going to keep me busy for sometime! cheers!
  4. Immoral is subjective eg I think most oil company's are Immoral. do you use fuel in your car? if you do, does that make you Immoral? IN regards to Illegal, no I would not buy anything that was deemed as Illegal in the Nation I live in, but that would be taken in to consideration when deciding whats the next best thing was. I hope I answered your questions clearly. Regards
  5. Would love to see an updated ucs falcon with more work on the inside. A true UCs Hoth set, not the jumble that came out this year. Or a UCS Dagobah, or UCS playset of Jaba's hideout heck a UCS Skiff would be cool also
  6. I have always been if I cant afford something, I buy the next best thing....

Thanks for the links to the fixes and upgrades etc, I have watched a review and videos of the beast in action and can see how a few mods would make for a much smother RC experience. will throw up a picture when Im finished :D thanks again
  11. Hey thanks loads for taking the time to reply :D will follow the instructions closely, and just had a read about setting the servo motors correctly, thanks loads for that. as thats something I would not have known about! I have built tons of UCS large sets etc, but again the motor stuff looked to be abit daunting, thanks again guys :D
  12. Hey ya guys, long time forum stalker from Kiwi land here. I had to join this forum, so much fantastic info and a great sense of community :D I have watched from afar for sometime but thought its about time sign up. Myself having a huge passion for all things geeky etc and been a 80's child I grew up having a large box of mixed lego, it was always a battle to stop friends stealing heads with good printed faces still on them back then :P I have been out of the dark ages for about 3 years now, with a passion for larger lego etc and also anything to do with the Ideas range! Regards
  13. Hello chaps, I lucked out last week and managed to win a 350f setc, now I'm more of a star-wars and idea's builder etc so the whole Technics with motors etc is rather new to me. any tips or tricks I need to know guys with a set like this? your help would be much appreciated Regards
  14. I know one store overhere in New Zealand is taking pre orders for the set, they have a big picture of it up. so fingers crossed to to far away. I find out the price today with luck
  15. Interesting topic this, I followed the brick-links thread on this as well, it has some fantastic views from both sides. Sadly Lego and the huge wave of Lego investors "Remember a lot of these people are not afol, just people out to make a dollar" made a gap in the market for cloned retired sets. It was only natural that this was going to happen. But from what I can see, Lepin by cloning some of the holy grail sets has got loads of attention and so much free marketing they could not have bought more. The Investment side of Lego, I know so many afol and they dislike them more than the bootleggers by a mile, its at the stage now when your hunting for a good deal, special to build even in the second hand market, your having to fight more with investors sweeping shelves than you do with builders and the likes. So the fact they might be hurting from clones makes many people happy the old 'make your bed sleep in it' But now sadly Lepin are focusing on more current sets and even worse afol idea submissions. while I didn't have an issue with old retired sets, current and even more so idea submissions is bloody awful, Idea been one of lego's ranges that I love the most due to the diversity and also that hard working afol's are getting paid for their hard work etc this could make people think twice about submitting :( I have to say I would love to know why Lego are chasing lepin over all the other company's, is it due to A: They crossed an IP that lego could just not let go B: The Quality of the abs plastic and molds are getting to close for comfort C: The speed that Lepin manage to clone sets. or all None the less it should make for interesting times with the court case etc, and the fact that Lego is starting factorys in China, they might have alot more pull than if they didnt on a quick side note I do find it odd that a bunch of people do dislike the fact that Lepin and other clone brands are breaching IP's etc while clone minifigs are ok... that also breach IP's just not legos as such. food for thought PS Rather new to the euro forum, long time reader/stalker
  16. This is just fantastic! thanks for posting the pics guys!
  17. Good review mate, kinda shocked by them doing this as an Ideas set I agree with Hive on this in regards to lack of appeal. I love all the idea sets, have almost collected them all, I will grab this also but its more of a reluctant purchase sadly, Cant wait for the Beatles set :D Ta for the review again :D
  18. My ex kinda looked like Frankenstein's monster when she woke up in the mornings with no makeup :P
