Marvel Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion
THELEGOBATMAN replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The first two were Lego Batman Movie series, not DC (although we got a lot of DC characters), so it made sense that they had a lot of Batman himself. -
Most interesting parts from the interview: When asked if there are more expensive display sets for fans that don't care about the technology stuff, the answer was "Well, we will leave that up to our fantastic community like you guys to decide, but I can assure you, some very iconic sets are coming." Do all sets have a digital component, or are there differences? "LEGO Super Mario is the only character that has technology inside, but all sets will feature the action-bricks that he can interact with." There are many new elements - for example the green tube, the Koopaling shields (like ones on the back of Bowser Jr.), and new modular system with rounded corners. The modules (such as the rotator platform, Bowser Jr. tower and Piranha in Tube) are build on the 8×8, 6×6 or 4×4 rounded plates, under which a 2 wide plate can go underneath. Lead Designer couldn't answer if we'll get Mario or Luigi minifigures. He also couldn't answer if it's a Jump and Run type of licence (one time thing), but he looks forward to continue relationship with Nintendo.

There is no CMF series. People thought that 4€ blindbag set would be a CMF, but those have 23 pieces - they will be some kind of power-ups (like Nexo Knights shields). People look excited because it's really fresh. It's something that has never been done before in Lego, and I love the idea. I might even buy like a starter set to try this. Kids will also love this, and it's a great idea. You may not like it, and it's understandable, but it should be easy to get why people are excited for this.

There is no CMF. There are 4€ blindbags under set number 71361 that have 23 pieces. They are similar to Nexo Knights shield power-ups.

Don't get me wrong, I really love this set, but if I could get those 200€ back and buy, for example, Avengers Tower and Astronomy Tower (Summer sets), I would do it in a heartbeat. -

I think what @HalfBloodPrince meant was this: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-harry-potter-neuheiten-spielwarenmesse/94059/ https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-harry-potter-2020-liste/#lego-harry-potter-71028-minifiguren-serie-2 Harry Potter Series 2 was present/revealed at Toy Fair just a month ago. Also, the first time we've heard of this series was in October 2019, thanks to Brick Fanatics. https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-collectible-minifigures-harry-potter-series-2-rumoured-for-2020/ -

Well sometimes it's just an impulse. For example I bought Silent Mary two years ago and I kind of regret it, I wouldn't buy it again if I had a choice. On the other hand, this year I bought The Upside Down and it's amazing, I love it, and I don't regret a dollar spent on this masterpiece. -

* I haven't thought about Grevious, it's such a wonderful idea for a helmet set. Droid heads would work too, I hope they don't stick to helmets only. Probably the only helmets I would buy would be Kylo Ren and Grevious. -

I know you meant the April wave, but I am pretty disappointed with the August wave too. BARC Speeder sounds good, but I am not interested in Clone army builder. Another Jedi Interceptor. If AAT includes a cool Jedi, it would be ok (it probably won't tho). Night Buzzard is okay, but it doesn't interest me. Grevious' Starfighter is overpriced as hell. AT-AT is okay, but I don't have that money right now (Marvel and Harry Potter are taking my main budget). The thing is, this wave doesn't sound bad - it just doesn't appeal to me. -

Series 2 is really confusing. Is it coming out in September like it should have? Or maybe it was pushed back to October? Or maybe it's January? Or even another rumour, could it be September 2021? No one knows. -
I meant if it was mentioned here. Amazon.uk has this release date so it's real.

Exactly my thoughts. January wave did appeal to me a little, therefore 3 sets I bought - Mustafar duel, Mandalorian BP and Sith Trooper BP. The rest were either remakes, overpriced or unappealing. April wave and August wave... yikes. Not a single set that interests me. -
Was August 1st 2020 release date mentioned? That's pretty fast for a newly revealed theme. I'm not a Mario fan, but I'm really excited for these sets, as I think they will be innovative and colourful.

Well that's a disappointment... I would love Kylo Ren's helmet, I would buy it immediately. Darth Vader, Clonetrooper, Mandalorian, Preatorian Guard or even Phasma - all of them would be amazing choices, but TIE Fighter Pilot is not really a good choice... The good thing is, it has 100 more pieces for the same price as other helmets. -

There is no confirmed minifigure series. There are 4€ "blindbags", but they could be anything - studs like Lego DOTS, power-ups like Nexo Knights or something entirely different. With HP series (reportedly) being moved up to 2021, it COULD take it's place (as a minfig series), but that's a big if. -
The theme was officially announced by Lego and Nintendo themselves, it's 100% confirmed.
-
By this logic, what's the point of any Lego theme?
-
Stoneware.de confirmed it, and they are a reliable Lego news website.
-
The price is 4€, not $4. CMF is $5, but still 4€. Meaning it could easily take the Fall CMF slot from reportedly postponed HP CMF.

More pictures of the helmets surfaced. Interesting enough, it makes me like Stormtrooper Helmet more, but the Boba Fett one less. I actually really like Stormie now, great build. I really hate Fett's chunky antenna and wierd upper visor. But no matter how good they look, they are not worth $70/60€. It doesn't have minifigures nor any big pieces. -

I'm really curious if they'll use regular red or dark red, and also about yellow, dark yellow or gold. It would look stunning with dark red/gold combination, but my hopes for that one are low.
