This new game from the BattleField series takes place around modern times, near future more like it though. If features driveable vehicles, accurate weaponry from the factions involved, a nice little storyline, and a fictional but not so far off from becoming a reality faction. The groups involved in BattleField 2 is: United States of America People's Republic of China Middle East Coalition There's about 5 classes of soldier types you can play as, each armed with different weaponry according to the roles they play in the battlefield. There's also several kinds of vehicles you can use during the fight each of which are specific to the nations they belong to. The US has American made weaponry and vehicles, with some weapons from Europe. Meanwhile China has its own indigenously designed weapons and vehicles with a few weapons coming from Russia. Whereas the M.E.C. has just about all its weapons imported from the Russians, or considering the current geo-political situation in the game... produced within the M.E.C. under license. You have GOT to check out this cool gameplay clip. It's rock-paper-scissors match up between the US and China forces. http://www.happypuppy.com/games.php?action...WRlb18wNS53bXY= Most of the weapons the Chinese have in the game exist in real life. It also appears that Electronic Arts did their homework on the modern Chinese army and put the latest known weapons China has into the game. They also probably used this site as their main source. http://www.sinodefence.com/ In the BattleField 2 clip I posted and in that Chinese military site, you'll see the: FAV (Fast Attack Vehicle) jeep WZ-10 attack helicopter Type-95 bulpup assault rifle AK-47 Jian-10 (or J-10) multi-role fighter

If Lego made Halo would you by it?
Peoples_General replied to Sarg_Kulo's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Of course, I'd get it for the minifigs, weapons and other parts. BTW, my fav games are modern military based ones. 1) Joint Operations series 2) Counter-Strike (Half-Life is cool too of course) 3) Delta Force series 4) RainbowSix series 5) Ghost Recon series LOL! :P Half-Life -vs- Halo :D EDITED BY BLOODY JAY: Despite my name, this isn't the place for blood. If you want to see the (rather violent) image, click the link below. :) http://www.maj.com/gallery/EliteMangudai/G...ife_vs_halo.jpg -
Why is LEGO so stingy with their mini-figures?
Peoples_General replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They're forcing army builders like me to buy more expensive sets. *devil* *devil* *devil* -
How could The Lego Company Improve itself?
Peoples_General replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego should drop the political correctness thing and just go with a Military Theme targeted at boys. -
I have ALL the Ninja sets.
-
I think they could go to the Far East or Mid-East for a new Pirate Theme. Make a kind of SINBAD based story/theme. Chinese Jung-Gorls & Sampans, Arabian Xebecs, and etc.
-
The original War of the Worlds movie had Martians who built "walker" type machines and use those to fight against our overmatched military forces. Later versions had those flying machines.

X3..... new villain I would love to see is Apocalypse. *devil* muwahahahahaha Or how about that Shi'ar Empire like in the X-men cartoons, the older version... not X-Men:Evolution.

Just wanna know if there's any intel on this supposedly new set or is this a hoax. *wacko*

Perhaps I will plaster some Lego Stores with MegaBloks signs and banners until Lego decides to sell to the Vikings line in the US. *devil* *devil* *devil* *devil* *devil* *devil* *devil*

I know Lego is supposed to have a policy against a military theme. Yet they had two World War 1 planes like the Red Baron and Sopwith Camel. Now keep in mind these are model scale rather than the usual minifig scale. Meaning you really can't depict "Lego people" killing one another with these. The same would apply to the Microscale of things. I present the Lego microscale fighter jet. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/kamikaze...uff/machbox.jpg HOWEVER, Im somewhat skeptical of this. Whether its for real as in being developed by Lego or if its a hoax.

Peoples_General replied to Mini's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Can we get pictures of these new construction sets? Im wondering if they'll have Technic Tread Links or Chain Links so I can have an easier time making my Tank MOCs. :P -
Nuremburg show? Or do you mean that the designers are being put on trial set design crimes? :|

Type-105 "Imperial Dragon" main battle tank
Peoples_General replied to Peoples_General's topic in LEGO Town
Brickmaster... could you PLEASE stop spamming the boards. I don't want my Imperial Dragon tank MOC thread to get locked. And just so you and everyone else knows what military MOCs I'll be bringing it'll be the Philippine EnH-03 attack helicopter, a US Tomahawk MLRS, and some other MOCs. -
Just heard from a member from BrickLink chat that about 4 or so Vikings "sets" were packed along with some Kabaya candy, much like they had done with Lego Ninja. These were really small sets, none of which are the ones we know of, and that they are really small much like the Kabaya Lego Ninja sets. Edit: there was no Frost Giant set, apparently the member who reported it mistook the Bionicle of Fafner the Dragon as one of the mythic giants from Norse myth and also thought it was separate. He said this after I showed him the pics to make confirmations. So in all, there are 9 Vikings sets, the 5 "main" sets we know of and the 4 Kabaya candy packed sets. Thats the update so far.

What happens when Lego stores go bad...
Peoples_General replied to Orlego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Someone should email them that idea, so as not to let these brick-built figs become garbage. Lets created the "Save A Minifig Foundation" . :D -
All new Knight's Kingdom sets!
Peoples_General replied to tjb tyranno's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Just to let you into a little secret about this place, Eurobricks.... WE are the ones who supplied BrickSet.com and other sites with the leaked news, pics, and info on new Lego products. :D ;) Ok fine... its not our secret, its our specialty! -
Could you give him pants? My minifigs would feel uncomfortable with a fig running around with a thong and a demented smile. :D
-
Well if you switch around some of the letters Santa will spell Satan. LOL! :P :D

It appears that Lego has used a pneumatic piece from technic to hold those disks in minifig hands. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4696b I've actually used this shield technique for my Norse minifigs before; my Greek minifigs also have these style of shields. But now that Lego has their own Viking/Norse/Scandinavian theme coming out... I've turned my Norse into Samnites.

Type-105 "Imperial Dragon" main battle tank
Peoples_General replied to Peoples_General's topic in LEGO Town
This tank will be a return to BrickFest 2005. But won't be the only military MOC Im bringing as I'll display several military MOCs. -
Umm.. there's 2 types of shields, 4x4 radar dishes that have Viking designs on them for display. The new shields the minifigs use are really a Technic Disk that is about the same size as the 3x3 radar dish. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2958 Unlike the radar dishes this one is flat enough for the Viking-pattern stickers/printing to be placed over it. Another thing, they don't "look like MegaBloks" because ANY toy company that wants to do a line based on the Viking culture and history, they WILL use those ornate designs on the shields.
