  1. Yes
  2. ??? A spoon full of sugar helps with MOCing? This is a great build, the crazy parts you have together to make the chess pieces are genius. Super job! :excited_thumbup:
  3. In my personal experience, slowly picking up a set here and there seems to work for me. If a set had pieces that really speak to me I will get it. Once you have built a set, after a while you may want to take it down and then use the pieces for making your own creations (MOCing). But a Bricklink or Pick A Brick order or two does not go astray either.
  4. Oh wow! This is just so cool. :well_done_back_pat: All the details you have in here are spectacular. The canopy on the bed, the fireplace... awwwww... too much to mention. But the face you have chosen is just perfect. Really well done.
  5. I really like this build. Clean simple, but still with enough true to life detail to keep it interesting. The issue you had with the pediments does not detract in the least from a job well done. Looks just like the kind of architecturally styled building I would enjoy visiting.
  6. Consider yourself reminded.
  7. I agree with hewman, the way that scrabble letters slide around drives me insane. I would totally buy this if I saw it in a store. Isn't anything made in LEGO better than the real thing?
  8. WOW! That is fantastic. I can imagine it took quite some time and a lot of patience to get it right.
  9. What product do you use for your stickers LT? Most of the time they fit in quite well, but in the case of the Coles red on red it becomes quite obvious it is a sticker. Have you tried the Avery clear sticker/label sheets from Officeworks? You can print on them like regular paper but the edges are almost invisible when stuck.
  10. That is fantastically believable and equally creepy! What an awesome creation and an awesome imagination.
  11. A classic hunter becomes the hunted. That is always funny! I always love to see these funny types of pictures. And you have done a good job putting it together.
  12. Thanks Pandy! You make me blush! I loved the chandelier too, I thought it was pretty cool to use the Belville Christmas-Tree star/snowflake piece in the middle. Thanks! There is plenty of room, dive on in.
  13. Thanks ThorBear! I know right! I have never wanted a trans-clear minifig more than when building this. Thanks, there were so many ways I could have interpreted the books description and I tried a few other ways first, but this one felt the most comfortable. Thank you Evanflew! Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Thanks, it was a lot of fun to build. Thanks so much! Thank you so much, I think I will keep it together in case I do get a chance to print the decal. The effect would be awesome. Thanks, I saw that first used here by Svelte.
  14. Thanks! I was tempted at first to just dump a whole heap of 1x1 rounds into the bath for a random bubbly look, but I am glad that OCD took over because I really enjoyed the flow of the water too. Your fave? I am very flattered. Thanks! Thanks for your comments. Yes indeed, a toilet brush just had to be included, you can't leave EVERYTHING to the house elves now can you? Thank you kindly! Thanks so much Rick! I did put a lot of attention into this and spent waaaaay to much on PAB. Those 2x2 tiles add up. Thanks!
  15. Hooray for getting mine completed.
  16. My build is based mostly on the book description (Swimming pool size bath, diving board, 100 taps all around, white marble, chandelier...). And also a fair heap of "artistic interpretation" I had a hiccup with the mermaid stained glass, I had edited a picture together and planned on printing it as a decal and have it against trans blue bricks to get the right effect but my printer has died and I figured I have spent enough money on this any how. So it is just on regular paper and inserted between the window and (now invisible) blue bricks. A pity. The toilet, old fashioned and castle looking? I hope so, I wanted to retain the glitzy rich feeling of the bathroom without compromising on the "this is still an old, old castle" feel. The Prefects can have every luxury, spare soap, oils and fluffy white towels are always supplied. A large chandelier provides the light along with the large stained glass windows. A rather excessively large bath is the main focus of the room, surrounded by 100 (about 60 in reality) taps that all have different coloured water and bubbles. This guy has obviously chosen the blue ones down the end. One end of the bath has a small diving board (as book describes). I hope no one uses it as they would be sure to snap their necks. Some of the Prefects hide in this luxurious bathroom to perform some of their more embarrassing spells. Like Ron here, trying to cast a spell for an ice-cream bath. If anyone is interested there are many more pictures, close up etc here on my Flickr.
  17. Happy Birthday Qman.

    My B-Day!

B-day bidet. It was a joke son, and a funny one too. Many happy returns of the day KisKatona. How old did you turn?
  20. Ooh, this is a cool idea. Although I am not much of a builder I'd like to have a go at the 11. Prefects Bathroom. I'm a Gryffindor.
  21. Using an iPhone to take such terrible pictures is no excuse at all. There are endless websites dedicated to iPhonography. I myself still use the iPhone3 and do not have any trouble. Try using more light, a white background and hold the phone still. I beg of you to take these shots again. It is a disgrace.
  22. No, she didn't. She told me to ask them for candy. Is that wrong?

  23. You are very very sneaky sir.
  24. elephant brainz [because an elephant never forgetz, and I am that elephant. Given by... Kieldaman? Someone sneaky who didn't go on my profile to leave a trace.]
  25. I have been to Denmark myself, and I really don't see it coming out in here either. It looks just like your town does, and that's great with all the detail you put into it. I recognise that as being a fellow Aussie I know all the stores etc. So when your title says "Something totally different from an Aussie !" to me, at first glance, it looks exactly the same. But I am just curious. Why would you decide to go the the other side of the world and create a Danish LEGO town all of a sudden? As you say, it is hard to research... so you don't really have much to go on, so making a generic town and adding Dansih decals doesn't seem to work for me. But it looks like you are having fun anyhow.
