  1. The building is more white than tan. And with LEGO there doesn't seem to be a color that's in between.
  2. I present to you the Hungarian Parliament building in Budapest in the style of LEGO Architecture! I have always been a fan of LEGO Architecture and recently its Skylines series has sparked my inspiration. I began messing around on LDD, trying to create a Skylines MOC of my hometown Budapest. It is very difficult because of the city's architectural landmarks (the Parliament, Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge), and also the small scale. This MOC of the Parliament was originally a part of that, which is why only the "front" has been built. (just pretend the 2x3 plates are 2x3 tiles, which are not available in LDD yet) I plan on finishing this build properly - to have it include the "backside" as well. So far it consists of 341 bricks, which is reasonable for a LEGO Architecture set. There are some complicated SNOT techniques hidden inside the building. I am not fully satisfied with this MOC. It was really complicated to get this many details into such a small scale, and I'm not an expert builder. I'm still not happy with the dome. I'll be improving on this MOC, just wanted to get some reactions first. If any of you have suggestions, let me know! I'd be more than happy to take your advice! More pictures of the MOC here
  3. Very impressive! And about the base, not many people have attempted it because of the 'slope' reasons, but you absolutely nailed it! Love the little details like the globe, the trees and the SkyDeck!
  4. I guess because it would have been a bit complicated to implement that and the complex steering system. It's already compact as is. Though someone will mod pendular suspension, I guarantee it.
  5. I love this idea! So far, so good. Keep it up, I can't wait to see the rest!
  6. Remind me what was displayed at the WisLUG table? It seems that you stayed at home during college, which does make staying with the LEGO hobby easier. If that was the case with me I'd still be building like crazy But that hasn't been the option for me even though I go to a college close to Chicago (Lake Forest.) My family has been traveling, so having a permanent residence in town hasn't been easy. All my LEGO are in storage. Until then, Digital Designer is always an option As for joining a LUG, I've decided I'll join ChiLUG if I stay in the city after college and get my own place.
  7. So has anyone else here seen the first episode? I just finished watching it, and I loved it! More so than previous LEGO Star Wars TV specials. I liked how this is a completely original story and is putting on a more serious tone than previous series. The story is surprisingly intriguing and the characters are well done. I think people who are skeptical of these TV specials due to childish humor, this one deserves a chance since it isn't overly filled with typical LEGO humor and they would find it manageable. Hopefully someone over at the Star Wars forum will make a large scale Star Scavenger, as the actual set is tiny.
  8. I had no idea Eurobricks had such a huge presence at Brickworld! I must have spent at least 15 minutes at this display admiring every detail of this build. Simply amazing! Congratulations to everyone who contributed! You're creations were all outstanding!
  9. Amazing design! The cloud car looks spot on! You said you had trouble with the cockpit. Might I suggest the 2x5x2 curved windscreen introduced in the Alien Conquest sets? I think that would work well with the curved look.
  10. Am I the only one who thinks that the wheels are too big? Can someone test how it looks with the Surfer Van wheels? (Might have to shorten the wheel arches to make it look good) But I believe it would look more in scale with the previously released Surfer Van.
  11. Hello people!!! Long time lurker first time poster. No really. I've been lurking these boards for 5 years now. I went to Brickworld this past weekend and met some AFOLs from this board. The conversations with them inspired me to finally get active here. So here I am. With a new account. I'm a student living in Chicago, and I'm an AFOL in a semi-dark ages. Time, money and college hasn't allowed me to build LEGO like I used to back in the day, but my interest is still the same if not more. That's why I've been lurking on this forum, checking on various blogs, brickshelf, and even flickr for everything LEGO. I have one year left of college. I have no idea what will happen after, and whether or not I will fully be able to get back into LEGO right away. But I sure plan to. Quick question: Anyone here familiar with the sort of semi-dark ages that I'm talking about? Am I the only one? And if no one has come up with a good name for that, I would like to coin the phrase 'twilight ages.' Copyrighted by me lol
  12. What's up people! Not my first post (done that already in the Technic forum), just going to the place for noobs like me!
  13. This is an amazing model! I can't believe how fast you made it! How much does it weigh? Also, I feel like your video was too short. I wanted to see more
