  1. This is great! I just picked up one set yesterday since it was on sale. Is your second floor from a second juice bar set? Or did you use your own bricks? Great inspiration though! I may just use one set for a ground floor modular juice bar and build an apartment on top using other sets.
  2. Thanks so much! It's great to hear your thought processes while building! I tend to get a bit overwhelmed when using LDD so I eventually just grab a modular, pull it apart and start fiddling from scratch. As my collection isn't all that large, I do feel it necessary to get a few bulk orders from bricklink so I can at least free build a little easier. Thanks again!
  3. I was never really into the Simpsons but I can see now how much potential it would have as a modualized version !
  4. This is great on so many levels. The court floor is hilarious though. I wouldn't be surprised if the refs call fouls every 5 seconds seeing as how everyone is so close to one another .
  5. Hi ! A little late into this convo but are the floors modularized to come apart? I dig the overall look ! I'm just now starting to get into making my own modulars and I think I have some similar bricks that I can try building something like yours.
  6. This is absolutely amazing. Your sense of humor and the creativity that went into this is on point !
  7. Is the building to the left of the Pet Shop your own MOC?
  8. This is awesome ! Makes me wish I didn't pass on this years ago .
  9. I just got the 75094 Shuttle Tydrium, 75103 FO Transport, 75135 Obi-wan's Interceptor, 75136 Droid Escape Pod, and the new battle packs. I also purchased the Assault on Hoth set before I saw the reviews...I've subsequently returned that for a refund.
  10. I purchased this on S&H along with the Hoth Attack mini-set...personally I don't feel it is UCS worthy...but that's just me. I ended up shipping it back to Lego for a refund. Although they did make me pay $30USD for return shipping ... Oh well, I'll use the $250 on town/modular/city sets !
  11. Thanks cimddwc ! I think I'll just bricklink a bunch of pieces that I see in the current modular sets and just go from there. Do you usually plan out your builds in LDD and then purchase the pieces once you know what you need? Or do you free-build with what you have? I'm at a MOC crossroad actually...on one hand if I try to add to an existing modular (ie, the Pet Shop sitting next to me), I'm restricted by physical pieces I don't have. Getting confused by what I need. Then on the other hand if I customize in LDD; any new pieces I introduce to the LXF file will need to be ordered via Bricklink and I don't have the satisfaction of seeing a physical WIP. What great problems to have .
  12. Hi everyone ! I'm currently trying my hand at "modularizing" some lego sets to incorporate them into the Modular town. I'm using 16x32 base plates as a starting point and thinking of starting with 16x16 rooms or "floors" and building vertically from there. If so, what are some plates (that are used as bases for each of the floors) that would be good for me to have a lot of on hand? Or even if there are those of you that free-build and don't plan out your building at the stud level, what are some plate sizes that you make sure you have on hand? 16x6, 12x6, 4x6 ? Thanks everyone !
