  1. Aw! This is really cute, good work! Especially with the score at the bottom :D Is the red dome a mushroom? Speaking of mushrooms, I made "1-upcakes" today. Cupcakes with green icing and white marshmallows. Nintendo geek win :)
  2. Oh wow, I reall envy you! Have fun with it!
  3. Isn't it a lovely set? All the detail, there's even cutlery in the drawers and a croissant in the oven! And all the Quidditch posters on the walls... well, you will see for yourself :) I love it.
  4. Sounds like a successful trip! I only know the shops in Hamburg and London, but I like both of them. The staff in Hamburg is a bit more passionate about the stuff they sell, I think. I also had this "Oh, who is that for?" "Eh... me..." moment when I bought two large Harry Potter sets a few weeks ago. And when I came there with my first brick list (for the Batman Arkham Asylum) the shop wasn't very busy, so two of the colleagues (both women!!) came over and helped me to find the bricks I needed. They even let me browse their bucket full of spare parts for Technic pieces and we had a nice chat about collecting Lego. Awesome, awesome people. I hope I am like them when selling books I don't know how helpful my reply was, but I think Lego shop staff need good feedback as much as everybody. So - thumbs up!
  5. I'll have to make a vague guess... it must have been the only set I found assembled in my parents' basement, the 1993 Technic Multi Control Set 8082: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8082-1 Fantastic set. When I collected it the other day, I couldn't open the battery box of the "remote" anymore. I suppose liquid must have gotten into it and made the batteries rusty. Such a shame. Like Woodland, I was mostly into Technic when I grew up (to the old age of 11...). I still find it very appealing, especially considering all the wonderful gear wheels... perfect for steampunk MOCs! I guess I'll have to stock up on Technic stuff soon :D
  6. Good gracious me, what a great deal of work you put into that review! Fantastic, thank you so much! I so can't wait to get my paws on these. I love all of them, honestly.
  7. Aw, I love the furry fellow! Gives me ideas about collecting a Parasol Protectorate personnel collection :D
  8. I think something animal-related would be good, like a zoo. I can tell from my bookseller experience that witches and (strong and posterior-kicking) princesses are also very popular at the primary school age. Dancers, pop stars (there are so many possibilities for a pop music-related theme!) etc. would also work, I guess. And I won't go back on my vampire idea. Give them a Twilight/Vampire Diaries/House of Night theme!! ;) So I think the focus should be on a "social" theme, involving people getting together instead of beating each other up.
  9. If people knew what a wonderful country it is you live in a lot more of them would get excited :) I love Denmark so much! Have a good time on Eurobricks.
  10. Europe only!! Update Nov 4th - Series 5 Need: S 5 Lumberjack S 5 Lizard Guy S 5 Gladiator S 5 Gangster Have for trade: 3 x S 5 Dark Dwarf All minifigs are unpacked, but complete and I hope I can provide each of them with a matching bag and leaflet.
  11. Holy cattail, this looks awesome. My bf and me just started playing Arkham Asylum and we both love it very much - but this makes it look like a rough sketch! :D Fantastic news, I can't wait to play the new game. Must buy an Xbox myself. Must. Must.
  12. Keep those ideas coming, Mugwash! Awesome!
  13. We surely know our stuff :D
  14. Dayum, we've got the wrong Tesco here...
  15. I wouldn't have expected anything else from a compatriot
  16. Maybe Jupe, Pete and Bob know.
  17. Guys, I am really getting excited. Did I decide not to spend any more money on Lego for now? Meh, that was last month... :D
  18. I bought the HP Quidditch set and a PAB bucket at Westfields on sunday. A few days before I spotted a series 2 box at the Argos shop and took an armful of bags. Bf: "You have a problem, madam..." "No I don't!!"
  19. We were given free copies of LU while waiting in the queue to get into the London Westfields store yesterday. A sign?
  20. I think an Eiffel Tower would look nice in the simple Lego Architecture look and in a smaller scale. And the Petronas Towers in Malaysia would be cool, too.
  21. Yeah, the bag isn't too spectacular - even the shark I got in Hamburg the other day had a printed bag. Anyway, I love the bus. Simple, but a very good design. I wouldn't want to miss it, and it's a perfect gift for a London Lego store!
  22. Morning everybody, it was great meeting you, even though I dropped in late and rushed off early (my bf and his cousin had discovered a Malaysian restaurant and were very hungry...). I really enjoyed the meetup, we had lots of fun and burst into giggles all the way to the food place - well done, Pinky. I hope I get to see you guys again soon! And thanks to SilentMode for the girl minifigs and Pinky for the Baseball player. I bought a Harry Potter Quidditch set and a PAB bucket, so I got the bus, too! It looks really nice.
  23. Will do! And I'll definitely bring minifig doubles after buying a whole series 2 lot today, with four doubles.
