  1. Well, you couldn't combine two more rabid and loyal fan bases if you tried. If Lego does this right, and makes a good, detailed castle with a nice interior and perhaps a Walt Disney mini figure, I don't think the price is going to matter. I would personally rather see them go towards the upper end of the spectrum and give us a set with at least 2,000-2,500 pieces. Again, if it is done right, I would shell out $350-400 for it. In case you didn't know, there is a deluxe suite inside the Cinderella Castle at WDW, as well as a dining hall area. Both of these could be represented in the set. I can honestly see this as the beginning of an entire line of Disney theme park sets. I mean what Disney fan wouldn't want a haunted mansion set complete with a hatbox ghost and hitchhiking ghosts mini figures? Or how about a WDW railroad train set? Perhaps a Main Street USA series of modular buildings? I know this sounds far fetched to some, but I think the power of the Disney fan base is being under estimated. Lego is testing the waters here, and time will tell how this all plays out. I for one am extremely excited!
  2. amazingbricks, you seem to have the inside scoop on what's to come. Without giving too much away would you say that there is a good chance that we might see some re-issued Harry Potter sets next year? I'm new to the hobby and I totally missed out on Hogwarts and Diagon Alley the first time around. I believe that 2017 will mark the 20th anniversary of the first book. 2017 seems like a perfect time for Lego to capitalize on "Potter fever" that is sure to come after Fantastic Beasts is released during the holidays.
  3. Hello everyone! I've been lurking around this forum for several weeks now and I decided that it was time to become a proper member. There seems to be a wealth of knowledge here, and I hope I can contribute as well. A little about me. Im a mid 30's father who started buying Lego sets for my son about a year ago. Of course I had Legos growing up, but I couldn't believe the quality and variety of the current Lego product line. I was particularly impressed with the sheer number of pop culture licenses held by Lego. The first set I purchased for myself was the Star Wars the Force Awakens tie fighter, followed the next day by Poe Dameron's X-wing. After that, I'm afraid I went a little crazy. I picked up the Simpsons Kwik-e Mart and the Ewok village the next week. A short while later I picked up the Lego Ideas Ecto-1 and the Lego Ideas Dr Who sets. As I type this I have just finished the Guardians of the Galaxy Milano. I've got a list as long as my leg of sets I want to pick up in the next few months. I am totally hooked on Lego, and I'm not ashamed one bit! It is truly a wonderful hobby that I can share with my son, and due to the quality of the sets they make great display pieces for my man-cave when we're done building them. I work as a public servant, and my job is stressful in many ways. This hobby has proven to be a great stress reliever thus far. I look forward to what the future holds!
