"Uhhm, okay. So, no pressure then... " Nyx scuffs her heels and hopes to hell she isn't about to lose several fine heroes and a member of an important house in the past. "So, Ignatious, it looks like it's you and me. Have you got any biscuits? Why don't we sit down and you can tell me all about why you think dangerous and murderous dudes are trying to kill you. Or rather more accurately now, us."
-
Nyx gracefully curtseys before the brothers. "Sirs, I am Nyx, a Battle Mage, and I have served your great house before. I am truly honoured to once again to be in a position to assist such a great house as the Ziegfrieds." Straightening up again and smiling brightly, Nyx eyes the two brothers curiously. She turns and grins at her old questmates Amorith and Boomingham. Amorith, now more confident smiles back, but Boomingham is clearly irritable and distracted. Turning back to the brothers, she addresses them again. "I must say, Sirs, that I very much doubt that the one left behind will actually be bored. I have a sinking feeling that they will be tested most severely, and I also have a sinking feeling that as one of the stronger members of the team I should perhaps volunteer. In truth, I don't want to, I want to accompany my friends, but that's not why I signed up. I signed up to do a job and I will serve you to the best of my ability. Nice boat, by the way." Nyx really wanted to be part of a team again, but hearing the conversation it seemed that she may well be the most likely candidate for staying behind. She kept her counsel, waiting to hear thoughts from the others. OOC Please note my Marketplace purchase. Thanks.

Nyx rushes into the marketplace, making a determined beeline for Anwyl's smithy. "Anwyl, sweetheart, it's me again and I need your skill once more. Please could you upgrade my precious Dawnstar II from level 7 to level 9? Here's the required 170 gold (80 + 90) and I think I'll hang on to my remaining 27 gold for next time. " Anwyl sighs and takes the wand, beginning the required work. He is resigned to the fact that trying to reason with the Mage that he already has several other orders to complete will merely invite an even longer sequence of flirting, foot-stamping, tearful pleading and shouting, culminating in the very real threats of being incinerated. So he just completes the work, takes the gold, and carries on with his work, happy in the knowledge that he hasn't been reduced to a small pile of ash. Flashing a dazzling smile, Nyx gratefully takes her beloved wand back, blows Anwyl a kiss and rushes off to join her questmates...

Nyx stirs from where she'd been gently snoring beneath a large pile of sumptuous upholstery and looks blearily around Heroica Hall. Smoothing down her hair, she rubs her eyes, distantly aware that someone had called her name. An unexpected hiccup inadvertently sets fire to a nearby cushion causing Nyx to quickly grab some stale beer and douse the flames while she giggles at the small blaze. Having checked that no-one has noticed this unintended but nonetheless enjoyable minor act of arson, she gathers her robes around her and stands up, daintily picking her way across the cushions. Realising her presence is needed elsewhere, she composes herself, and hurries out of the Hall, with only the merest backwards glance at the now slightly singed and smouldering cushions.

The Curse of IMHOTEP - Day Four It's late at night, and eyes are searching the scree of the canyon for the elusive Egyptian nightingale; a beautiful bird that chirrups its sweet melody only in the hours of darkness. Unfortunately the only birds visible are the hungry-looking carrion birds, eyes also searching. The eyes look on. Here they see Mustafa, still frozen in carbonite. Seemingly abandoned, ignored even by the ravenous carrion birds. A further sweep of the binoculars reveals two dark figures. 'Hey there' 'Sup' They casually exchange as they pass in the night. The onlooker focuses in on another dark figure 'Heyyy! No peeking! I have plans tonight!' What the inquisitive onlooker doesn't see... ...is an unidentified character who has taken time out to bare their buttocks to the canyon at large, shaking their stuff to Led Zeppelin. But what they also don't see... ...is another dark figure, stealthily approaching from behind and doing their dark and dastardly deed. 'Well, whaddaya know! It removes make-up too!' they chuckle quietly to themself as they gather up the limp body of Penny Farago... ...and push her into the open mouth of the statue of IMHOTEP Once again the eyes of the great statue flash! Meh. Tastes like chicken. On the other side of the canyon the encased and immobile figure of Mustafa is no longer ignored 'Hmm' says the dark figure 'I don't think we should leave this lying around' 'Hyup, in you go!' says the dark figure as the carbonite containing Mustafa Nidia is also pushed into the mouth of the statue As is now to be expected, the great eyes flash and a small pile of clothes appear More corrupted! Bleurgh! Ptooi! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It's a bright and sunny morning as Ossie and Is sit drinking coffee on large, comfortable sofas and chatter with their Friends about life in general and relationships in particular. 'and he said I was cute' continues Olivia with her minute dissection of a five minute conversation with a good looking guy 'does that mean he thinks I'm cute cute, or you know, cute cute? What did he mean by that??' A commotion on the other side of the camp draws Ossie and Is away from the fascinating conversation involving comic calamity and occasional slapstick to see that the campers have gathered around a spectacle 'Oh look' says Is 'this fits perfectly in with our theme today' 'Yeah' grins Ossie 'It's ugly naked guy' '..come from the land of the ice and snow...' warbles Mehmet tunelessly 'No you don't' mutters an anonymous camper 'you're supposed to be Egyptian' 'Yeah and put some goddamn clothes on!' adds another camper 'I can clearly see you're nuts ' 'Hey girrrrrls' oozes Gordon 'I can show you something better than that ' 'He said he had puppies' whispers Stephanie 'Yeah and sweets' agrees Emma 'I don't think he has either... ' 'Maybe not' smirks Gordon 'but I do have a...' 'Stairway to Heaven' Mehmet shrieks, drowning out the end of Gordon's suggestion The Rules Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Innocents or the Cultists. The Curse of IMHOTEP - Day Three
Pandora replied to Pandora's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Day Three Interlude Ossie and Is, together with their temporary companion Mawhrin-Skel, are busy satisfying their curiosity about an unexpected guest. "I don't think they really understood what on earth we were going on about this morning" observes Ossie, pulling something slimy from the carcass in front of him "No" agrees Is "I think they have an Outside Context Problem " "Bahahaha!" offers Mawhrin-Skel, deftly slicing layers of tissue with its knife missile "Yeah, they're just so unCultured." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ During this exchange another group of unexpected guests arrive. This time from hopefully a more easily referenced pop-culture sci-fi source. "Now... spread out... men... and let's... see... what we can find" commands the dashing yellow-shirted Captain in his unusual phraseology "Tricorder's reading dangerous levels of farts, Captain" reports the team's Doctor "Phasers set to mild tingling sensation in the left foot" assures the Science Officer in his ever-serious voice "...." gulps the red shirted Ensign. ~~~~~ On the other side of the camp, with Mehmet insisting on remaining buried in the sand, Mellifluous (the renowned reporter from Edinburgh, remember?) has taken it upon herself to cook Clan Murgatroyd's infamous three-bean chilli. "Och aye the noo, hoots mans, come an' grab a wee bowl a mae bean chilli!" shouts Mellifluous "Yummmm, that smells fantastic" is the general murmur through the camp as the campers run to grab some grub. "Bean chilli!?!" observes a party-pooper "that's the last thing we need with all Mehmet's gaseous eruptions!" The inviting smell of chilli also draws the adventurers from beyond the stars, and they wander over to the mouth-watering aroma "Tricorder reading normal, sir, it's safe to eat" notes the Science Officer "Ah" says the Captain with a winning smile "Well... then... you'd best... bean me up, Scotty" (I'm so, so sorry, Rufus made me put it in ) "Now" says the Captain, satisfied with his snack "who'll... be the first... to... explore that... fascinating... statue?" An uncharacteristic silence falls over the camp... You may now vote. You have 48 hours to decide on a sacrifice. -
Melaena Stools had been chosen by the group to be the second sacrifice to IMHOTEP on their second day of this hot and dusty ordeal. As had happened before, her clothes fall from a chute to the side of the statue. As had also happened before, but equally unwitnessed by the group, the statue's eyes flash! Bleurgh!! You feed me the corrupted!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that night, another camper is up late, this time preparing his placard for the next day. "Stupid desert, there's nowhere to put this damn thing! How am I supposed to create art around a political statement under these conditions! This is intolerable!! Do I have to do everything myself?!? I will not stand for such substandard conditions!!" Fortunately, there's a helpful sort of person around, ready to hold his placard for him. "I'll hold that placard for you!" Says the helpful sort of person, uhm, helpfully. "Well, yes, I suppose you could" mutters Patrick Fitzwilliam (for it is he) "but you could at least try to hold it straight. And still!!" "Whatever" mutters the dark, dark, yet helpful figure. "Hold on a minute.." exclaims Patrick, as realisation dawns "I've been around long enough to know what happens when I'm visible and you're not! That means I'm.." Thunk! "Yes. Yes you are. You very much are." mutters the dark, dark figure. The dark, dark figure looks at their concoction, looks at Patrick and looks at their concoction once more. "Eh, what the hell" says the dark, dark figure as they do their dastardly deed. "Oooh, who knew this stuff removed a dirty sanchez? Cool.." mumbles the dark, dark figure as they drag the limp body of Patrick Fitzwilliam towards the statue of IMHOTEP. Patrick is fed to the great god IMHOTEP, and once again the clothes of the terribly dashing Patrick Fitzwilliam slide down the side chute. IMHOTEP's eyes flash once more... Yum, a pure one! Certainly an amuse bouche! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The following morning a smell pervades the makeshift camp; a smell so dreadful that it could only be caused by the ingestion of vast quantities of scorpion balls and their subsequent gaseous excretion. The campers convene around the source of the stink: Mehmet, who has attempted to partially bury himself in the sand at some point in the night. "Nice sand boobs" notes an unidentified camper. "" replies Mehmet. ~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile Ossie and Is are hard at work... building a rocket? "Are you sure that's Mawhrin-Skel?" asks Is, pointing to the small white drone behind the rocket "Yes, of course it is, how could you possibly doubt that?" replies Ossie, somewhat affronted "It just looks absolutely nothing like I imagined it to look, that's all" mutters Is. "Next you're gonna tell me that this magnificent ship looks nothing like the (Eccentric class) Labtebricolephile!" "...." says Is, keeping her counsel. "What the hell is going on with you two?!? cry the frustrated campers "Don't you care about us?!" "We're just doing what we usually do, and having a bit of fun.." mumble Ossie and Is "Sowwy" [tight beam, M32, tra. @n4.28.972.1010] xROU Killing Time (Torturer class) odROU Frank Exchange Of Views (Psychopath class) I really was expecting more violence, weren't you? ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Rules Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Innocents or the Cultists. Aww, how cute! Only about three more hours to wait, but I'm glad you're excited about the game. -
Happy Birthday Captain Green Hair! Looking forward to seeing you again in Billund, hopefully.

Great to see that Fangy, thanks! I always meant to post these posters, used by the NHS here in the UK to promote 'flu vaccination. I'll have to link them, as the images are too large, but just like your poster they represent imaginative use of LEGO minifigs (in this case CMFs) to make a serious point. Clown Diver Dracula Karate Nurse Skater I've given the titles above as they are listed by the designers of the posters.

Day Two Conclusion 8.15pm. Ossie and Is are trying to distract themselves from all the arguing, fighting and insulting of the rabble of campers. 'Oooh, look! A hastily built Nigerian plane!' 'With stuff inside! Cool! I wonder what these little statues are for?' 'I dunno, dear, but their contents have a slightly different effect to those mushrooms over there.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile, in the camp, the dashing and rugged Patrick Fitzwilliam has decided to start a campaign to remove Melaena Stools. He's made his placard and prepared his speech... 'So that's why I think we should vote for Melaena..' When all of a sudden, Mehmet leaps forward and says: 'Hang on guys! I have, like, a totally, like, waaaay better idea! Allow me to perform one of my dramatic masterpieces and you'll see!' Mehmet does a quick change into his favourite (or maybe favorite) performance outfit, and proceeds to explain, entirely through the medium of mime (his favorite dramatic medium, too ) why the camp should vote for... ...Melaena Stools. The campers, so moved by the unparalleled performance, indeed vote almost unanimously for Melaena, who, either not fully comprehending the gravity of the situation, or maintaining her cheery disposition to the end, walks up the steps to meet her fate inside IMHOTEP's great mouth.. 'You know, I never did find those ducks.' Are her final words as she steps forward... Finally we got in! Yays! It looks dull down that hatch, though. Let's do something else tomorrow. You have just under 22 hours to get your night actions in.

Glad you like it! We're actually just having a bit of fun with it today because of what you said the other day. We were avid Lost viewers too, so it seemed a natural thing to do for Day Two. -
Mod Note In British English, as opposed to accursed American English, it is spelled "fulfil".

Rick, thank you so much for playing. Another early exit that stands as a tribute to you as an excellent Mafia game player. -
After a full day's worth of arguing and debating, eventually Fr Thomas "Tomato" Thomson is selected as the first sacrifice to the statue of IMHOTEP. His clothes fall from a hitherto unnoticed chute. Satisfied they have finally come to some sort of agreement, the not-so-happy campers make a move towards their bedrolls. The general murmur reveals unsurety as to exactly what the the night has in store, and what further terrors the morning will bring in this hole in the desert (which isn't actually godforsaken, given that there's a dirty great talking statue of the great god IMHOTEP ). With Fr Tomato ingested, the statue's eyes flash! Mmmmm! A pure one! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that night one of the campers is up and about... Determined not to wet his pants any more, Percy decides (perhaps inadvisedly) to go for a midnight stroll to... do his business... However, distracted so much by the succulent banana, he doesn't see the dark figure approaching him from behind... ...and he is incapacitated, while the dark figure murmurs "at least we won't have to look at his disturbingly freaky eyes anymore" ... ..and bundled into the statue...before he even knows what's happening. Percy Pantwitter is no more. Once again the statue's eyes flash brightly. Mmmm! Another pure one! Yum! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the morning the campers gather together to decide what to do, naturally convening outside Ossie and Is's shack. "You know more than you're letting on!" Shouts one of the campers "Yeah, we know that!" Shouts another "We've figured some stuff out, but we know you know more!" "Weeeell," sighs Ossie "we do know a little bit more." "Uhhm, yeah, sorry," blushes Is "but we cannot interfere in the affairs of man." "Tell you what," says Ossie "we'll tell you all some things, none of which are known to everyone. How about that?" "Yeah," says Is "that's fair, and it's up to you what you do with it, just as long as you don't break the rules."
