Heroica RPG - Quest #4: Taming the Lions

"Interesting... I wonder what those X's mean?" "Between the 'old Hinckwell house' and this piece of land, it's definitely looking like the Lion Knights are in league with the Hinckwells." "Would it be possible to pry open some of those crates?" -

"Indeed. I have a feeling that we're going to have to fight hordes and hordes of Lion Knights when we get out there, so we need to be prepared. Maybe we should visit a couple more tents first to see what we can find in them." "Mr. Shawe, how long until the nine Lion Knights are upon us?" -

"I'm certainly glad no one was in this tent! Let's move on to Tent F." -
I'm not advocating just 'any old conviction', I'm trying to get people to actually work on Day 1 for once. If we did that, we would have a much better chance of finding a scum.

"Nine!? Something tells me that this won't end well..." "Anyways, let's try Tent C next." -
Yes, but we don't know if that applies to the voting. Usually, rule like that only come into effect when someone breaks one of the other rules.
-
Wait, so you're saying that Penguin and Joker will confirm your affiliation tomorrow if you don't die? Forgive me if I'm a little skeptical. Indeed. In the rules it says that voting is mandatory, so there could very well be a penalty for not voting. So you're basically role-claiming tree stump/innocent child (no offense )? Will you still be able to vote after they 'reveal' you? That's true. In my (also limited) experience, the scum usually don't try to influence the Day 1 vote very much, egg-cept when one of their own gets accused. Yes, I have to admit, no scum who wasn't already on the chopping block would try something like this on Day 1.

"Not a bad round, but we need to finish this quickly before the reinforcements arrive." Order of action: Leo Xander Thormanil Cinna Ad-Hoh Benji De'kra Tomas "I will attack Lion Captain from the front row! You're not getting away this time!" -
I suppose I phrased that wrong. I meant that you weren't talking sense when you were going off about how you had 'solved the first question' and all that. While it's important for us to be proactive today (and all the other days, for that matter), we have to remember not to go down the route of thinking of ourselves as automatically right in our accusations.
-
That's a good point, Music Meister. Wesker could have easily argued against a lynch in hopes that a random innocent would be killed. Glad to see you're finally talking sense. While it is suspicious that Wesker acted like it was set in stone that there are five scum, a slip of the tongue could happen to anyone. He may have meant that he thought there were five scum, but just forgot to add that last part.
-
Interesting observation, Nygma! Yes, who would know the number of scum better than an agent? However, I don't think the scum would really want to give away their numbers this early in the game... of life. Also, Wesker and Pinocchio were arguing against a Day 1 lynch when they said that, but a conviction on Day 1, as much as I hate to admit it, is in the the favor of the scum. Don't celebrate just yet, people. While I am suspicious of the Ventriloquist and his little doll, Nygma's accusations aren't quite enough for even a slightly-educated-guess. That's true, and five scum does seem like a pretty reasonable guess considering that there are twenty-four of us. However, you acted like it was a concrete fact that there are five scum. That makes you look like you know something, and the only people who know anything this early in the game are the scum. Although it's true that these games books are not always the same, they do often follow a sort of 'balance'. Generally, around 1/4 to 1/5 of the people are scum. So five is a pretty reasonable guess. Again, what has me worried is how concretely he said it.
-
Generally, a majority vote means above the 50% mark. It's obvious that the random conviction in the case of a tie is to make sure that someone is lynched every single day.
-
I suppose Wesker and the puppet have a point. Wrongful lynches will only benefit the agents, after all. Still, I still think we should at least try to find an agent today.
-
It's true, they do, and I'm not so naive as to think that one of the agents will slip up this early. However, that doesn't mean that we can't still try our best to analyze behavioral patterns and make, as Selina said, a slightly-educated-guess. What do you suggest we do, then? Just sit around and wait in hopes that there will be a little evidence tomorrow? As a matter of fact, I'm getting quite peckish as well. I could really go for an egg salad sandwich right now.
-
Penguin, your nuclear plan sounds like an egg-cellent idea! I'm looking forward to that handsome reward! As many others have said, Day 1 does not automatically equal random lynch. Just because the odds are in favor of us lynching one of our own today doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to get one of those agents. Egg-zactly. I don't expect evidence to drop from the sky, but waiting and making a 'slightly-educated-guess' as you called it is much better than a random vote. The whole Day 1 voting issue has been discussed to death in the past. Running away from the decision we must make does not help us at all.

Order of action: Leo Xander Thormanil Cinna Ad-Hoh Benji De'kra Tomas "Ad-Hoh, Cinna; please use your darkness magic on the Quartermaster. The bound effect only works on close-ranged weapons." "Truth be told, I'm actually kind of scared of what this brew will do to me, so instead I'll attack Lion Captain from the front row!" -
Thanks, Cornelius! For a minute there, so did I!

"Oh, no thank you, that won't be necessary." "Stop where you are." Tomas pulls out the Witch's Hat Brew. "I hold in my hand one of the most powerful substances in Uland. One sip and I will explode in a five mile radius, taking you and the rest of your camp with me." OOC: Sorry for adding another enemy to brawl, everybody! -

"Yes, we certainly do lead interesting lives!" "Actually, the rest of the ingredients for my 'super tonic' are among our wares that were stolen by the highwaymen. Everything except for the Phoenix Essence and the Grand Tonic, that is. Those clumsy ruffians broke every Phoenix Essence and Grand Tonic we had! Anyways, if you catch the thieves, we'll be able to make my 'super tonic'. I saw about five guards marching around outside; why don't you send them? And while you're at it, you could send the crossbowman. I'm sure he'd do well against those ruffians!"
