If one were to somehow get their hands on the Power Puller, where would these pieces be? Can a grey or black piece be substituted without the owner of said Puller know? ;) Just sayin'...

I have 8258 that I bought on eBay, but where's everyone finding these low stock 8258's? Where I am (central Canada) none of the local stores have it, and even fewer carry the big expensive Technic sets.

Wow, this thread rocks. So let's say I'm a Lego noob - just getting into it again after 30 years of exploring hobbies, what's the best way of accumulating the needed parts to build all the five models? Our local LUG is doing a LUGBRICK order soon, maybe I'll have to see about getting a number of these parts. I'd hate to have to take apart my Silver Champ and BMW F1 cars though.. Thanks!

That image isn't totally accurate. The top pod is flipped upside down, if the builder flipped it the bulge wouldn't be so exaggerated and would make the car look better.
