  1. I've shown I care! I never even said I wouldn't build something, I'm just not getting bullied by an overgrown lizard. Where does it say that in my post? Did you tell everyone to send their night actions? I don't remember now (not helping my case there).
  2. Don't make me have Aluvar talk to you. Uh... I think you mean, "this is what to do, if you want. You, the participants, have a chance to..." Cause I'm sure not going to be 'made' to do it. Though I still might. We just ended day 4. Don't bet it'll take 18 days to finish day 6.
  3. Weirder and weirder. Do we win anything? I want to win something if I'm going to go digging around to build Majiko stuffing a goat um Majiko stuffing Byron er, something. You know, he has a point. Yes, but it isn't polite to stare at it. Noooo, not that, he's right about the prize thing. Oh, yes, absolutely. What kind of game show doesn't have prizes? A cheap one. Well, yes, that kind. I wonder if Ragnir would like to be associated with a cheap game show. No. I would not. I didn't think so. Now stop talking. Ok. Nice dragon. He is. I've known him for years. You know everybody? SHHHHH!
  4. That's very nicely done! I can't actually draw animals at all (or people for that matter). If Fabuland had ever included a frog... just imagine. Did you see SlyOwl's Fabuland rendition of Ratty's? Living in the backyard of WDW, I'm more than familiar with it, and I still despise the idiots who ripped it out. The one park with all the room in the world, and they remove one of the best rides for Winnie the Pooh...
  5. Since it doesn't have to be as stiff as the normal capes, I would imaging that you could find a comparable fabric and just use the same method as LEGO, a slit in the middle, two holes, and let the natural fold hold it upright. Good luck! As a side note... that's the best damn decal I've ever made in 20 minutes or less. It really is.
  6. Oh, that is a lovely idea! As a matter of fact, it's so good, I went ahead and made a torso, just in case our good fellow decides to try it! Of course, it required a bit of adjustment for minifig scale and to account for that large head which should overhang the torso a bit, but I think it came out quite well for being so fast. Compare! (decal is a thumbnail, of course) vs I'm a little concerned with the colour selection, given the faded quality of the source, but they would be easily changed. I actually think the collar could be done in the same way that LEGO did the one for the vampire figure, simple a cape in reverse.
  7. I think we can make sure that doesn't happen, first thing in the morning. This may be one of our faster days since everyone seems to agree on the voting so far.
  8. What a mess to sort through. According to Ash, no more investigating could be done by his man if he was killed, yet we're to believe he can do it on his own and report to us? And we can trust that? He admits that his purpose was to work for the traitors, but he claims to be neutral and didn't know who the traitors were, since he investigated at least 2 loyalists. I don't call that neutral, no matter what the game says, especially when you supply the food that kills the King. My vote stands. Let's get this whatever-he-is hung, and then we can track down the yellow fabric with black trim clue to catch a killer.
  9. New contest ideas should be posted here. Thanks!
  10. There is a lot involved, but if you take it step by step, it's a pretty simple process. I would suggest starting with the Customization Tutorial Index. Then, if you don't find an answer there, search in this forum and you'll probably see where someone has experienced the same thing. If not, ask again in this thread and we'll try to help you. Enjoy!
  11. We'll consider ourselves adequately warned. *posts an extra guard on the lettuce* Welcome aboard, and enjoy!
  12. Hey, thanks for posting this review! The Islander sets always seem to be the overlooked, but usually solid sets in the whole Pirates theme, and this one fits that description perfectly. I've never been sure quite what it's supposed to be, something sort of like a port fortification with a place to hide treasure or ... I don't know. It's a good way to add a couple more natives to the army, another nice swabbie and another eternal Captain Ironhook. Again. Well, 3 out of 4 isn't bad. My favourite part in the set? The drum, of course. It's the perfect tribal barstool! I should pick up a few more of those... I'll be right back, I need to update my Bricklink wanted list. *time passes* I'm back! Boats, oars, guns, gold, pretty much the standard assortment, but add a 16x32 blue baseplate and it's a guaranteed winner, but I think you could still reassemble one for under the $30 price tag. This would have been a great clearance set though. All things considered, I'm going to give it a 4/5. It's nice. It's useful. It's a little pricey by 1994 standards. Still, a set with plenty of fun and usefulness, so if you find a deal, go for it! Thanks again, Lord of Pies!
  13. I see it now. I'm still not used to you. Problem is, I don't buy it. I don't think that special mention is made of things like that without reason. Since we know of nothing that happened to specifically disturb your sleep, it makes me wonder what was really going on. Still 2 suspicious generals. *prays for Mike and takes a drink* Ah, that's making my head feel better already.
  14. It was about time we scored one for the good guys. Why such a hurry, Lord Suspiciouspants? Having determined that Lord Ash was a traitor, we now have to be suspect of his accusations, I don't see that as being in cahoots. Of course, it could have been a ruse, but we need to ask questions before we jump to conclusions. There was no indication that only one Lord could be a traitor, was there? Yes, that makes perfect sense. On the way back to your room from where? Rod... Road... oh, you have it right. It's a fairly good test. We kill Calvin, and if he turns out to be a loyalist, we kill you next. Good plan, I'm quite pleased with it! Vote: Calvin/Atoll Dweller (for the moment, but I still want some answers, so this vote may change).
  15. I love the smell of rope in the morning. It smells like... victory! Rejoice, friends, we have finally begun to avenge the King! Sadly, we are also faced with the reality that the traitors creep in the night, murdering us one by one. What could poor Mike have done to deserve this? We must track these scoundrels down! So I say that we should keep the celebrations restrained, for we are far from victory, and I might have, um, prayed too much last night with the Friar. Aspirin? What are you talking about Majiko? I've never even heard of aspirin, nor am I interested in hairy dogs. Go away... Yellow fabric with a black strip along the edge... perhaps it's time to examine everyone's clothing? And just what happened to you two generals?
  16. You may find a similar sentiment expressed here.
  17. Right. 1958 was the addition of tubes. It was also the year they stopped printing locally translated boxes and began simply branding them as LEGO. The instructions were still divided by country, but they began trying to write less so they could make fewer instruction variations. That's pretty much why instructions are all visual, plus it works better for the product. As for the 50th... Honestly, they keep finding new anniversaries because the whole early process happened over the course of several years, so there may be more anniversaries coming up, it wouldn't surprise me. 48th anniversary of the introduction of purple, or something (no, they didn't do purple back then). From the very beginning, in 1949, they used Cellulose Acetate. In 1963, they switched to ABS for stability and strength. CA warps over time. The slits on the sides of the early bricks were for attaching windows and doors that came with slots, or sliding in post cards and such as picture frames, much like the backdrops used in the Studios sets so many years later.
  18. I never could find a shot I really liked working from, but I've sort of thrown together a quick idea for that decal. Feel free to adjust it, change it, or get rid of it completely, but I think it might be helpful as a guideline.
  19. This has gone on far enough without reaching a point, so let's just shake hands and call it a day. Good night people, time to go home. There's nothing to see here.
  20. Based on those measurements, here is a 600dpi template for that area. The grey is border that you would cut off after printing. If it's a little too big, you can always resize before printing (and let me know so I can adjust the template). Good luck, and please let us know how it turns out!
  21. No no, not the whole figure. You can't really decal the whole figure, it's too curved. You need the measurement of the center flat section where the printing is. That part you could decal, then paint the rest blue with gold trim. See what I mean?
  22. Oh shut up. There goes my chances of making Pirate Admin this week. Er. Hey.
  23. They're looking good so far. I especially like the jogging torso for Donald, it's a really good match. I think the Hagrid ended up the perfect size. Obviously you'd have to paint the coat portion blue. I'm not really sure of the exact size of the center section for decaling, we've never had anyone try on one of those. If you take a ruler to it and report the measurements back, I can help you get together a template to work from. I'd measure my own but it's buried somewhere. I only bought it for the head.
  24. It was the least popular because it isn't Star Wars, not because it is lacking. If there was a current Forestmen line, or the Disney Robin Hood was currently popular again, it would have been better received. That said, I really like a lot of the elements here, and I'll be sure to steal liberally from it. For example: I love this window and everything around it, especially the fence. Too many details to get specific about, it's just a really good overall effort, from the overhanging belly on Little John to the very detailed tree house, with those windows I love, to the King's carriage with upside down doors. Upside down doors. Hey, that works. Great job! Rat tail kid didn't comment on this?
  25. Ugh. Ok, now I have to tell the Nazi story. In some modified levels of Doom, the mappers replaced the map 32 Wolf 3D character sprites with the ones from the mp red marine. They also sped it up to an impossible to deal with speed, thus making it hard to avoid dying. When it would kill you, it would say that you had fallen victim to a Nazi, because it used the old character message. How does that relate? Well, Alice plays the red marine because she's a girl and likes red. So, here we are, running around casually wiping out everything in our path when this red human runs up and blows the crap out of us repeatedly, and it looks like her. So.. she is the Nazi. It also resulted in accusing her of hacking, which was a joke as well.
