  1. A picture wouldn't be much use as your monitor would need to be calibrated. My advice is compare a brown from an older set (at least five years old) with a new set.
  2. Welcome! Another member, yay! I wonder if we can make 2000 before next month... My wife doesn't share the same interest in Lego as me but she is extreamly tollerent...
  3. I tried that one once and after ten minutes wait I got $10 off a $100 set! :-| Next time I go shopping, you are coming with me!
  4. I bought 4884 Wild Hunters for under half price. I have been watching a certain store for months and the waiting paid off! *sweet*
  5. I tried that and it didn't work for me. I will try again. I use rechargebles anyway... :-D Do you have the old remote point system set up? Oh how I used to drool over that in the catalogs! I kept waiting for its return... I am very happy with the cargo train, with the exception being the crane, which I plan to modify soon. Even so, I hope Lego find room for both. Given enough space I want a combined system...
  6. It's in reference to a MOC I made for my wife. Read about it here.
  7. You are right. Look at those clams! We had so much fun. Look at those clams! Did I find them in that pond? I can't remember. Look at those clams! I am not sure where that boat is but... look at those clams! I'm sure we can get over past hurts one day. Sorry about ruining your shoes that day.... Look at those clams!
  8. I actually like the RC line, but I am biased as I never bought any of the old and own both of the new. I feel that the RC line is more suitible for smaller set-ups like mine. If they gave the RC trains more torque, even if it meant less speed, I think they would be perfect. As they are they have trouble starting under heavy load and going up hills. (Roughened tracks (like the old ones) might solve that problem however.)
  9. Hip Hip hurrah! Happy Birthday!
  10. Errr... I voted for two, but methinks you can guess that. The drill in One didn't work for me.
  11. Thank you! *wub* (I expected the engine was run from only one drive motor; that would have involved some complicated mechanics to do otherwise!)
  12. I suspected the same, but have you seen this first hand? ;-)
  13. To be honest, that is the first time I have ever heard of that, but I can't see any reason for him to make it up. Starwars4J has some much desired rare parts, including the red Darth Vader helmet, so he should have more experience in this issue than me. As I said, I have heard all colours are done. Perhaps they do it to test them out in new sets, perhaps some colours are weaker at compression and some are weaker at shearing, I don't know. I would love to hear from anyone who knows the answers first hand, but that probably breaks confidality agreements. :'-(
  14. Starwars4J gave a good answer here. In short prototypes are the biggest reason. I have heard that Lego do a batch with every colour to test for strength, although you would think the clear ones would produce the best data.
  15. Thank you vey much for this review. I do have some questions; 1. What are the white clutches geared into? 2. Is the engine geared to one or both drive motors? 3. How well does it go on carpet? 4. Can it doze without breaking the blade?

  17. If you are still waiting the instructions can be downloaded via here.
  18. Cool. Considering the price, I think I will sit this one out... :'-(
  19. Does it work well on carpet? What is the range of the transmitter?
  20. How dare you do that to my favourite set of the year! Nooooooo! :'-( :'-( (Errr, just to clarify, I am joking. Good work!)
  21. Boba arrives on the Sail Barge looking for Jabba and finds the Gamorrean. He is hungry after his long trip, mistakes the Gamorrean for a pig, and after setting his blaster on "cook" he prepares a quick snack.
  22. Welcome to Eurobricks. Well, if you change your mind about castle, now is a good year! (IMHO!)
  23. I can answer that one. The new IR recievers can handle two different outputs and have four channel. Thus all functions are IR controllable. Please note that the dino has two motors and one IR reciever. (You can download the instructions for the dino via here.)
  24. Oh. :-$
