  1. That is indeed concept art from LEGO Battles, if you look at Klaus' resume you'll see he was an artist at Hellbent Games, and worked on Battles. Very talent artist! And he should do more LEGO related artwork!
  2. Hey, I haven't posted in a while, been busy with work, but I thought I'd ask you guys. Does anyone have any reference or links to scanned (either comics or lego set inserts) that talk about the rough backstories of the different characters? Like Captain Redbeard or the Imperial Governor? I remember that back in the late 80s early 90s Lego would sometimes drop small comic books or inserts into the sets and they would have information on the ships and the odd characters back story, and I was just curious if anyone had any recollection of this or where I could find the stories or information on them. Cheers, Ty
  3. Thanks Yoda. *bow* *sweet*
  4. Hey Guys, I'm pretty new to the whole brickshelf thing and I know a lot of you guys use it fairly regularily. I'm a bit confused. All but one of my folders are public... is there some sort of trick to making a folder public? or is there some kind of approval waiting period? Any help would be great. Cheers, Ty
  5. I love the back end of this ship! It looks gorgeous and you didn't over do it! Amazing!
  6. Yah I saw the new Indy hat... and I think it'll be great... but sadly there weren't a lot of Fadoras in the Old West. I do hope the release a couple versions of the hat in black (like for the Evil SS Torture guy from Temple of Doom) cause that would open up some cool possibilities for mobster lego. Not that Lego would ever make gansters, but it would make some great pieces so AFOLs could. Use the Fadora they've done for Indy along with the weapons and some other stuff from the Batman stuff and voila you've got 1930s mobster lego.
  7. I'd love to see how they turn out man! I'd kill for a Doc Holiday flat brimmed hat... and the sorta hat Kurt Russel wore as Wyatt in Tombstone. I always thought it was a shame that LEGO only ever managed to produce the "Ten Gallon" style hats, Top hats and the calvary caps... I'm not a big fan of the whole calvary side of the theme. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Thanks again for the compliments! *sweet*
  8. amen. I honestly loved how the 'cavalry' started as a subtle addition, like in Gold City Junction. I started to lose interest when it started to head to a Colonel Custard vs the "Indians" type theme. I think they should have stuck with Legoredo and developed the Boom town more than the forts and the native camps. Although the camp is cool I just didn't like the calvary vs the redskins type concept as much.
  9. LOL that's awesome... hopefully he's over the age requirement. *sweet*
  10. Sounds good... I'd like to do something story driven as well... but we could throw together a commercial if you'd like lol that wouldn't be too hard... we could even included the time lapse building stuff lol. PM me and well work through it. Cheers, Ty
  11. I would definately consider it and you're Ghost Town is as good a place as any to start... seing as how you have a story line involved. I'd need detailed pictures of the sets and the characters, and I'd also (if we want to do this the way I did BSB) I'll need a detailed parts list so I can model each part. If you had a way we could communicate much freely we could probably work through the details and the storyboards and such. We'll do something a little longer than that 30-60 secs I'm thinking. Since lego is kinda stiff anyway so animation could be pretty simple... kinda along the lines of the Lego Chess videos... So anyway let me know... I'd also like to do something with Legoredo... mixing in MOCs and Official sets, ie your train, and mixing in official and MOC minifigs (mine and yours) I think that would be sweet. But we'll see how the first one goes. Let me know.
  12. I could easily look into it... I'm sure it's not that hard to do a SS.
  13. I just finished my course at Vancouver Film School where I took 3D Animation and Visual Effects, the 3D Modeling stream, and I thought I'd share my reel with you guys... thought maybe you guys would appreciate it... especially the 3rd piece *sweet* http://student.vfs.com/~3d63ty/ Cheers, Ty
  14. Thanks for the compliment! And the find! Those are pretty neat... I still am going try and work out the few I started though... but who ever put those together, that was pretty creative... torsos from a bunch of different series and they look like the mess quite nicely!
  15. LOL well I'll see what I can come up with. =)
  16. Rotoing out blue screen and matching lighting is a lot harder than you'd think... so good luck :)
  17. I loved Firefly! I thought Serenity was a lousy way to end it... but sure who are you looking for in perticular? I've also done some Star Trek TNGs but that's for a personal geek lego project :-D And BM don't worry about the link it was just a wranglers tie up shirt.
  18. You bet! Thanks buddy... I'll colour correct em when I get home. I definately think the limited and accurate colour palette helps sell the "official" lego look. *sweet*
  19. I sorta had this in mind http://www.wwmerc.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi...e&category=3420 but I didn't like how it looked with the collar so removed the collar. Sort of a wrangler type outlaw. And for colour I use a combination of this http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/colorguide and http://peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/colorguide.cgi Dunno how accurate they are but the seem pretty bang on with the laser printer I have I'm hoping to do some quick decal on figs to show what I mean... and then tackle the water decals after. Cheers.
  20. That's stunning! 8-o Well done!
  21. It wouldn't be very hard, if you had MSN or something I could walk yah through it or do it for yah. I'm a 3D Modeler by trade... so I could help yah if you wanted. Let me know. Cheers
  22. Dunno if it's been mentioned but simple water would be pretty easy to do in 3D.. with either Maya or XSI.
  23. Wow! Awesome feedback so far. I just use Photoshop I know Illustrator is somewhat better for this kinda stuff but Photoshop is just easier for me right now. And I'd love to see some variations. Thanks Brickster for throwing them on some figs that's great. I haven't quite got to the point of being able to do that yet. The Doc Holiday was based off a suit that Val Kilmer wore in Tombstone, I entended for him to be on a gray torso and will like arms and legs... but with Doc's famous black hat. I was actually contemplating cuting down a top hat to make Doc's hat since lego only has the more classic cowboy hat. The black and gray gunslinger that Brickster made were pretty much bang on to what I had in mind, and the Saloon Keeper I was going to put on a white torso and maybe give him gray hair, like an old timer. I have no idea what heads I would use though... since the WW theme only had about 6 variations... but I do like the head on the 2 gunslingers Brickster chose. Thanks again for putting em on some figs. And thanks goes out to BrickMiner for the rag in the pocket idea it really does make it a very specific torso and I really like how it looks on the fig. Cheers
