  1. I'm seriously considering picking up a sandcrawler too. I have $300 burning a hole in my pocket.
  2. Not the cone wasn't backwards intentionally. I did fix it though. I had the same thoughts about the technic pins myself and already swapped them out for a light gray pair. As far as color matching I just used photoshop and put a bunch of swatches of different purples down and then choose one that closest. The purple is a little lighter that that dark purple bricks i will be adding to the Windu Interceptor but I did that intentionally. Every time I look at Vaders Interceptor I see something else that I want to fix. I plan on getting a 2x4 inverted bracket to replace the 1x2 bracket that currently sits there. I'm trying really hard to cover up part of the technic holes that you can see when you look at it straight on, and I plan to give the cockpit some decent controls since there's basically nothing in there right now. I do agree with on that Lego dropped the ball with this design but I'm doing my best to fix it in ways that only improve on it. It really makes a difference what an extra 20-30 pieces added to the part count can do to improve it.
  3. So I got my glossy sticker paper in today and I had some great success with it. I was planning on making a Mace windu Interceptor as well so I photoshopped a sticker sheet from 75135 and changed the colors from dark red to purple and gold. Here is the finished product. Its loos really close to the quality of Lego's official stickers and I wet my finger to see if the ink would smudge or run and it didn't, I'm very happy how these turned out, now I just need to redo my vader interceptor stickers.
  4. These are decals. I ordered some glossy sticker paper so I'm going to try a set of those and see which ones look better. I mostly bought the sticker paper because I plan on doing a custom colored sticker sheet of the 75135 sticker sheet for a Mace Windu Interceptor I'm making.
  5. I finally got around to making some changes to my Darth Vader's Sith Interceptor. I took a few of the suggestions from the last one and added a few more myself. Here is a link to the first one if you want to see the difference http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=122320 To start off I replaced most of the light blueish gray bricks with dark bluish gray. I like the look of the darker bricks better and the color matches the canopy piece more. The second fix was to the canopy itself I made some water slide decals to go over the top of the open circle fleet symbol on the canopy. This is a huge improvement on the first one because it always bothered me having the original symbol on the canopy. Since I was making decals anyways. I went ahead and made new decals for the wing flag pieces, which are more reminiscent of the original Hasbro Sith Interceptor this inspired by. I did take someones suggestion and switch the flag pieces to trans black, but after putting the vent sticker on the lower side you could see the white backing through the trans black. To solve this I just spray painted the under side of the trans black pieces and put the stickers on top of the painted section. The decals on the top section are applied to the normal plastic. I modified the droid socket lowering it by one brick so that the astromech doesnt sit to high now. And lastly I played around with the engines in the back. lengthening the engine section by a 1x4 round brick and changing the exhaust from blue to red. I also added a few more extra pieces to the back to fill out some areas.
  6. I ordered a set of 4 trans black too.
  7. I'm really looking forward to this set. Mostly for the containers.
  8. Very nice, I love how that turned out.
  9. Those are some nice renders. That SSD is a thing of beauty.
  10. I actually picked up some water slide decal paper today so I will be fixing the insignia on the canopy and while I'm at it I'm going to make some imperial insignia's as well for the s-foils, I just need to track down a another set of gray flag pieces.
  11. Here is a custom I did using the 75135 set. Back in the day, Hasbro made a Sith Interceptor using the Jedi Interceptor mold. For whatever reason I always like it so I i tried to recreate it using the 75135 Set. I swapped out all the Dark Red Parts for Black and added some parts on the top, underside and front to give it a more sleek, aggressive look, sort of like a precursor to the Tie Fighter. My next step is to replace some of the Light Blueish Gray parts with Dark Blueish Gray and create a custom Astromech to go with it along with a custom Darth Vader.
